Well, if Software Update has not told you for me, Apple has released a software update for almost all iLife '08 applications. Also updated is "iLife Support 8.1" which updates the software components that are shared between iDVD, iMovie, GarageBand, iPhoto, and iTunes.

Here is a list of the updates:

iDVD 7.0.1

This update improves overall stability, supports general compatibility issues, and addresses a number of other minor issues.

iMovie 7.1

This update addresses several areas including video and audio editing capabilities, and performance associated with opening and switching iMovie Events and Projects. This update also supports general compatibility issues, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues. More details

iPhoto 7.1

It supports general compatibility issues, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues.

GarageBand 4.1

This update addresses isolated graphic display issues, compatibility with 3rd party audio software, fixes minor problems with Magic GarageBand, and supports general compatibility issues.

iLife Support 8.1

This update supports system software components shared by all iLife ’08 applications, improves stability, addresses a number of other minor issues, and supports general compatibility issues.

Hi,

What kind of programming is this by Apple ?

I've placed all the iLife applications in a folder under Programs. I find it easier that way.

But ... Software Update cannot find any updates for the iLife applications.

So, I've placed them back under Programs (so not in a folder), and the updates are found. ;)

Can you believe this? Is there a reason?

It is like that because Apple uses Software Update to check if you have the apps needed to be updated. It looks for them in the only place they are supposed to be, in the Applications folder. If you are running an app from your desktop it most likely will not get updated. It needs to be where it is meant to be, Software update will not look anywhere else for programs that need updating.

Hi,

the updates are working great on my Hackintosh!

I still find it kind a strange that software update only checks on the default location.

Not much flexibility on a Mac

The problems where iDVD and iMovie crash unexpectedly. Also some people report that there entire mac crashes or none of the apps work.

From what I have seen the colonel is bitter and just likes to hang in the news forums and complain.

Guys, I just noticed. If the Leopard 559 update did not fix iMovie, this update sure did. I get an error on startup, but it works nonetheless. :D
