Apexmusic
@apexmusic: first I dont know if two nvidia cards work on osx properly with the current drivers... so i would suggest taking one out, but like i said i dont know about two gfx card config experience... next try booting with -v -x this should help you go to gui, as it looks like your problem related to gfx card? also screen cap of that last parts (1-2 screen caps of the last parts of booting process) is much more helpfull... once you get into the gui, you can follow my other guide for updating to 10.5.2 on post#2 check it... bcoz 8x series started to work well with 10.5.2 drivers... (but like i said i dont know the deal with dual gfx card configs...) good luck... Hi again. I tried using -v -x to boot like you suggested, but unfortunately I get the exact same error message as I did booting with -v. =/ Here's a screen as you requested... any thoughts? Thanks again for your help! Mysticus C*
Do most usb to ethernet adaptors work? for example this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...rksid=p3907.m29 it dosnt say its compatible with mac though... i dont know... i told you the only two working network cards on my post#2 already... i cant have all the cards in the world and tell u this is working this is not working... it is for you to search and find out... stop asking same questions again and again... go search the HCL topics to find out what is working what is not... if you read my post#2 you will see i identified two wireless cards as working without dropping network and they have official drivers bcoz couple of people on this topic had these cards, and they are working good w/o trouble... before you buy stg, check the HCL topics, or manufacturer's web site to see if they have official OSX Leopard drivers or not!!!! Salvajos
Mysticus,Replying to test on Asus Striker extreme SLI system: I have been using successfully Leo on my system. But with no dual video card support. every time I loaded the kexts for my card I was getting a kernel panic during display detection. So I removed the SLI strip; same result. Finally I decided to take Mysticus advise and removed 1 video card. I restarted and to my surprise my second screen came alive! memory reported correctly too! I was able to change resolution each screen individually. Unfortunately I could no enable QE (my understanding is that LEO enables it automatically). Also I was getting some garbage in the screen. To further test I decide to insert the 2nd Video card again. As soon as I did it I got a kernel panic.I went back to the boot flag "Graphics Mode"="1680x1050x512" I will test some more in a clone installMysticus any idea why QE did not load?thanks,I do not know if this helps but I am using a WUSB54GC, just installed the Wireless kext, added -f to my com.apple.Boot.plist, loaded the DWL-G122 and place the MinitaskUSB in my auto login programs.Attached the files.hope it helps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87901-nforce-chipsets-how-to-install-leo-easy-and-fast-with-iatkos-v10i-r3-nforce-edition-or-kalyway-1052-dvd/page/38/#findComment-697335 Share on other sites

compluva199
now explain the problem clearly... tell me what you did, how you did, what did u choose in customize menu of installer, how you partitioned your hdd? step by step everything! and if possible screen caps (with booting -v) would be more helpful to identify your problem(s)... Sorry to respond so far away form the last post date, but i cant do fun stuff like this during the week >.< ok, so here begins the trail of photos that lead to the demise of my installation. Note: I reburned the DVD on 4x like you told a couple others to do. SO here it starts with the -v business. And continues... and continues continues... continues (btw anyone can feel free to grab that warcraft 3 cd key on the bottom of my monitor ) continues. mmhmm then it waits for a few seconds and i click the button to continue after i click the button it loads up this then after it loads the next screen (which I will get back to) I go into disk utility to format my 13gb partition. now i select the "leopard" partition and click erase now i click erase and after erase, i close the disck, and I am back to this screen where i click continue theres an image inbetween where i accept the license agreement, but i skipped that picture for some reason... anyways, i end up here and click customize. next 3 or 4 shots are my customization window now im back here and i click install. ok i started it out and brought up the error log then i switched to all logs and it hung here at validating for a min or two but the bar was still animated, so i knew it wasnt frozen this was the last new message. "extracting" then it went on till here when the bar stopped being animated, and i was unable to move the mouse. The installation had frozen... again : / so just to clarify, the explanation of each image is on the top of the image. so now that i have shown you step by step everything... what do you think? again thank you so much for all your help mysticus. Apexmusic
try removing one of the cards or the sli bridge to see if it helps. Removing the SLI bridge didn't help, but removing the second card did! Works perfectly! The annoying part is that in order to be able to boot now, I'll have to pull out the second geforce to be able to boot at all. =/ Do you know of any way I can disable the second PCI-E bus to be able to boot without pulling out the card? I don't see any obvious option for that in my BIOS. I really don't want to give up SLI for when I go to play games in Windows. compluva199
ok, progress! I got to the part of the installation where it told me i had to restart by holding down the power button, so i did, i removed the disc like it said, and then i let it boot off the correct partition. It looked liek it was going ok, until it displayed the same message that i saw on the installation asking me to restart my system by holding down the power button for a few seconds. i plugged in a ps/2 keyboard to get the installation options command line and booted with -v. it displayed a plethora of messages in a rapid fire type method and stopped on BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Kernel_task Mac OS Version: Not yet set Kernel Version: Darwin Kernel Version 9.1.0: Fri Nov 16 14:50:43 SCT 2007; made by ToH:xnu-1228.0.2`1/BUILD/obj/release_I386 ideas? Read/see the guide on post#2 carefully!!!!im practically certain that i did but thank you, ill try it againill report back soon away!! EDIT:ok hold on, just to clarify. Since i have an intel chipset, i should make sure this is checked or unchecked? because when i click on it in the customize window, the description says "apply this to non-intel chipsets. also some cpu's - like celeron d - need this to be removed." so, just double checking, select it or do not? thank you again EDIT2: ok im now almost positive that you meant install WITH the box xhexked. I tried to leave it unchecked and the installation froze like it used to. Am going to try now with the box xheked liek you suggested. will report back later for hope that people who read this will avoid the same mistakes i have been making EDIT3: ok, i made sure that i checked the cpupowermanagement remove and the same error occured. it just starts to boot up and tells me to restart my computer. Mysticus C*
@compluva: there are couple of things I want you and everyone who makes their own mix and match settings in custom window to know! Guys, if you do not follow the guide, I cant help you! Because I cant follow really what you guys doing during custom window... During Partitioning... Partitioning is important, and many of you do not have any idea about, please search & read about mac partitioning! Because some of the bootloader problems comes from wrong partitioning! Next big problem is that, some of you guys like to choose their own mix and match settings in custmo window, which makes it exteremly difficult to follow for me and others who want to help you... You guys reporting that you do everything crossing all "I"s and "T"s.... But some of you guys are not even doing the "A"s which is the most important... Many people do not even know how to report a problem, combination of all of these (wrong partitioning, custom window selections, and god knows what else missing) makes it extremely difficult for us to help you... Why do I tell these? Let me give you some of the examples... From this topic... Easkay; complained that bootloader doesnt work, at the end I told him step by step everything to do, and he followed, he booted up fine w/o dvd! his problem turned out to be wrong partitioning! DvP; complained that he did everything right, he didnt follow half the guide i figured... I guided him step by step, now he has a good hackintosh... and some others, if you read through the posts on topic, claimed that they did everything, most of them turned out to be not reading the guide correctly, and had problems, asked them to do the things step by step from scratch and told them the basic settings as in the guide, and most of them worked fine! Please read the guide correctly.... The main settings are the MUST HAVE settings for nforce! Please stop making your own judgement until you understand what you are doing! I see many newcomers everyday, jumping on the bus, but not reading my post#1 and post#2 at all or couple of sentences or paragpraphs are read and the rest is skipped, as you became professional... It doesnt work like that, installing OSX is easy if you know what you are doing, but KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE DOING takes about at least 2 weeks and several partitioning and installations which most of you want/think to hit the target in one shot!... Experience comes with the variaty of practises... IN some situations you guys will find out some answers accidently/randomly and will help others... But this will not happen in one shot! trust me, I know what I am saying... Why am I writing all this noobish show off looking sentences? Because I am fed up with so many recurring errors people are doing! The guide is there with all the steps... People still do their own mix and matches... do not know how to partition, and for many days argue in the topic that things do not work although they do everything right! which 90% ofthe time turnes out to be half the things are not done correctly... ========================== @compluva: erase your partition or if possible get a seperate hdd, and do a complete new partitioning from disk utilities on it, with mbr scheme... and install with the MUST HAVE selections, I mentioned in the guide, do not choose any gfx card or network card! Do not make your own judgement regarding the must have selections I showed in the guide!!!! choose exactly same things as on the guide! Your problem I can think of right now is with in correct partitioning and wrong selections, since I see you are doing your own mix n matches and cant tell your partitioning... good luck...
