They run about $20 US. @Mysticus Can you explain what the chipset specific stuff is? Are the smbios.kext's just another type of kernel? MeDevils nForceATA is already included in this right? chaosmunki Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 @ myst Right after I posted that I got the 9.2.0 Sleep kernel and have gotten the greyed over screen once. Not sure what that problem is. The CPU panic I have only recieved that ONE time, but have gotten many panics, especially in the beginning...so possibly a fluke. I know you are putting a lot of energy into your installer..just to ask. Can u put a 1900gt graphics update in there as well? Had to ask. (edit: sorry, looked again at what is "to come" in the graphical customization of your installer. Saw 19x0 when looking closely. Hopefully works with GT series...lol@myself for not seeing sooner) @ waldfee Had the same problem, as we all did with that onboard LAN...buy a $10 realtek 8139 from newegg or whatever...works OOB. darkstormcr Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 just got home from school. glad to see you guys making progress =D and mysticus, can't wait for the update man! looks good from the screens =] I tried again early this morning before I left...I have no clue how to boot off a HDD (like you were saying), so I just erased the disk in Disk Utility and tried iATKOS install again from the DVD. I have a question though...in the installer it says use HBR and not GUID partition. How do I do that in disk utility? Even if I make a new partition, the partition system at the bottom always says "GUID". And when you make a new partition, there is no "HBR" option (as I don't think HBR is a file system anyways) just HFS journaled / unjournaled. And if I don't make any partitions, the installer doesn't list any disks to install to (obviously). Also, when do I set the boot flag using GParted CD? Right after iATKOS installs? I just can't get past the blinking underscore...I know it's something I'm doing wrong with the hard drives or partitions... During heavy usage, such as copying over GB's of files, and even using Azureus, the computer locks up for the most part. The mouse cursor moves very fast across the screen for a few seconds, and then after that I lose almost all control of the computer. Everything else appears to be normal. Things go on the screen as normal, aka copying files goes on, and downloads continue, but at a laggier rate. I reinstalled Leopard twice and it still has the problem. Anyone else experience this? Would there be a reason for this? It had random freezes on my system as well before, What i use is nforce ata drivers sata section for sata devices, and appleviaata driver for pata devices...to be able to do that, you need to know your pata controller's device id... you can check it from terminal... run the command "lspci -nn" it should show u bunch of device ids, find the ide/pata controller id...next thing is to remove the device ids of pata from the nforce driver and add them to appleviaata driver, and it should be good to go... I bought a couple of removable hard drives to move between xp and Mac. Have been switching between them as I only have one pc. and trying to set them up. Working late I forget to pull out XP amd set up the Iatkos disk on the drive. Good thing I had Xp imaged as backup... Regards !!
