I'm leaving for a bit but I will see if I can find another DVD drive when I get back. Also, I noticed that when it sits at the panic error, there doesn't seem to be any power to the drive. When I press the eject button (on the drive), nothing happens...no led or anything. (at 4x speed or less burning speed?) and if possible changed sata ports? (like changing the hdd in the sata port to another sata port and try booting?)... mix n match... darkstormcr Posted March 17, 2008 Share Posted March 17, 2008 @mysticus ugh. I have it installed now. I had to rip a toshiba DVD-ROM out of another computer. I guess it doesn't like LG drives. Anyhow still issues!!! It started with a b0 error, and I read that it is because I did not set my drive as active partition and that I have to run fdisk in terminal (from setup). So I went into Terminal from the install disc, and then set it as the active partition. After doing so, I reboot, remove the disc, and it just sits with a blinking underscore. Any ideas? =/ thanks for all your help btw! Where did you install it? On which disk and which partition. Are you trying to get dualboot or single? For german native speakers: Falls du eben deutschsprachig bist: Das sind bisher einfach zu wenige Infos um helfen zu können. Schreib alles mal in deine Signatur rein und erklär dann nochmal wie du installieren wolltest. Anfangs ist es übrigens immer besser mit keinen Treibern zu installieren. Das geht nacher noch immer. Nur welche die du ev. brauchst um auch wirklich starten zu können. Mysticus C* Posted March 17, 2008 Author Share Posted March 17, 2008 @dark and @waldfee: you guys must have messed up something, make a clean install after b0 error if blinking cursor happens, it means no bootloader... meaning you either doing something wrong, or your hdd doesnt like os x bootloader, it happens with some hdds... i have seen many examples... and nothing to be done, but change hdd... but if hdd booted os x before that means you made some messing up... dont what but you did... @waldfee: first for god sake, add your specs to your signature! bcoz it is hard to go back and forth always... ebios might be due to dvd couldnt be read damaged or stg? or u take out the dvd too early... both of you guys start a clean install and make sure you know what you are doing... dont mix match stuffs as you like... @dark: i will add extra stuff for your gfx card to the main installer... so u wont have to run dvd to install the driver... but it will be most likely tomorrow if i cant finish it today... so while waiting make a clean install of iatkos r3... and wait for the new installer... @for everyone: I will add the 10.5.2 update guide and stuffs to the main page under post #2... I appreciate you adding stuff for my video card. because the rest of my family uses the other comp, they want that DVD drive back in there, so until then I'm pretty much stuck with whatever I've got (should probably grab a new drive but w/e). FYI, in Gparted liveCD the HFS+ partition has boot flag. there is a 121MB piece that is unallocated and a 200MB piece that is FAT32. Thanks man. yeah bcoz many people like to ignore what is said in the guide, and jumps straight to last post as usual, than same questions are being asked so many times... some questions/troubles are already mentioned in the guide, and questions regarding them still asked... it is very annoying to ask every other post to a new comer to add signature and read first 2 post... but if you are following this thread? or if u read it all over, you will see how many same questions/requests being made again and again every other posts... thats why I m going revise my guide on post #2 regarding these questions as FAQ... but I know it quite right that there will be still some stupid idiots gonna skip it all and jump to last post to ask same mentioned problems still... thats why i m angry and annoyed... i m trying to improve the installer, but not many people put input, so problems are building, and i m trying improve the installer, so less problems regarding to it can be asked.... but like i said, when the guides are not read, of course people will have problems all the time... I know the fact that some problems may be related to updates, but can be fixed easily if right description of problems is given in the right way.... not like " oh I have a pc i updated, and it doesnt work anymore? like what pc what update? what doesnt work? how da hell will people know what is the problem if you dont tell symptoms... if u go to doctor with problem, doctor will ask you what is the problem? and you wont say just sick? bcoz it is stupid. you are seing a doctor bcoz you are sick already, so you would first say, I m caughing, my chest is painful... bla bla details, so doctor can narrow down the situations.... same here, first signature with hardware profile, so we can know what you have? and what kind of errors happening screen caps (best help to identify problem)? or exact error messages... otherwise, it is totally annoying... i also hope that you understand that i m not directing this whole post to you... The installation goes perfect in both Guid and MRB but when it boots it simply does not find he drive! and f it find it it says something like boot error something I also installed it and put in the terminal -fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 f 1 to activate partition and not working also tried to activate partition with windows vista and not working also tried with hiren boot cd and not working mmm I am installing it in a diferent drive than vista Vista is in my SATA 500gb and Leo is in my IDE 10gb Thanks!! InfiniteFool Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this. I just installed iAtkos v1.0 R3. It boots up just fine and I can even get it to connect to the internet. My SATA drive is recognized and doesn't appear to cause any errors. However, when I try to install the NVIDIA drivers for my GeForce card, it gives me the "you need to restart your computer" message. It will boot up if I use the "-x" modifier it'll boot up in safe mode, but obviously the NVIDIA drivers don't initialize and neither does the network driver. I even tried to modify the .kext files, but it didn't seem to make any difference. I may have made a mistake when I was modifying the .kext files, though; I just deleted every piece of code related to the device ID and replaced it with "0x0295" (the device ID for my card). I also tried clearing the cache. Can anybody tell me the correct way to do this, or give me other suggestions? The only kalyway we use here is the 10.5.2 combo update package! it is not a dvd, we dont use Kalyway dvd to install OS X here... What we use as install dvd is iAtkos R3... Do you read that part? ok so can u see which part you may be doing stg wrong? @zero: what error exactly? any screen cap or exact error message? provide appropriate details, otherwise dont expect people to help u without proper information... @dark: I will try to finish it today... I am revising the entire update installer package... @la-li-lu: wait for the update package... if update package doesnt solve your problem, than I m afraid you may need vga bios flashing... some 7 series requires bios editing... dont know why, you can read it in nvinject forums, just google it... or wait for the update package... @sunner: if you read the posts in the topic, or simply search, you may find some of the answers, I will also revise the guide page to reflect many of the FAQ, so that hopefully it will help reduce the amount of some of the same questions... TO ALL: I am working on the update installer right now, so be patient, and wait and do not PM me anything regarding it... I will post the information here when it is done, and revise the guide page and add all these updates, so you can keep track of updates from the guide page from now on... Ok, sorry for bugging, thanks for help. kalyway dvd never worked on my system, although i made all the necessary changes, so there are more stuffs in it that i do not know, therefore I cant help you for something I am not familiar with... thats one of the reasons, we have iatkos r3... nforce friendly, and we know everything about it (but not the problems related to some various stuffs we dont have control over such as individual h/w and their drivers related subjects...) so it is pointless for me to try to help you on something I dont know too much details about... i would only mislead you... which i dont want... My system is running fine ... only things: My ATI x 1950 pro ist running with Quartz Extreme but only at 1024x768 ... or Without Quartz Extreme but with my 1620x1050 ??? I hope for Mysticus new updatepackage ... But instantly my System runs only with DVD :-( perhaps my hdd ist too old? I want to transfer my bootsystem to another hdd?!? Could this work witout new installation?!? With Sata it doesn´t boot (with a empty sata hdd and booting from iatkos´s) ... blinking cursor ... Thanks for answering my question. I searched the NVInject thread and couldn't find what you're talking about, though. Could you give me a link? I'll probably just wait for the update, but I'd still like to know more about bios flashing - just in case. By the way, I must say that is spite of the problems I'm having, I'm still quite impressed with iAtkos overall. Kalyway wouldn't even let me format my PATA HDD, and iAtkos formatted my SATA HDD in about 10 seconds. Keep up the good work!
