Jvcox Posted March 13, 2008 Share Posted March 13, 2008 Sry to pull you away from more important things but when v1.0i r3 is installing it locks up, and by look at the installer log it lock up when it strat to extract files. I tryed a sata hard drive at first (push f8 and type -v and got past that find) saw my hard drives in disk utill format one of them and started to install lockup. Then tryed a pata hard drive same thing. Is there something i'm not doing?? Thxs in av for your help. Thanks guys for all your help. Now i need to get my LAN adapter working on my Motherboard. I don't know what kind it is, but i have some pci LAN adapters if i need to use those. I'd rather use my onboard one though. My sound works right out of the box!!! I also need to patch my GeForce 8800 GTS 640meg. I might try it now, as soon as i get time machine running. *EDIT* Does anyone know if there are drivers for the EVGA 680i SLI T1 Version Motherboard? I don't know what type of Lan it has. Anyone know the methods of finding out? Mysticus C* Posted March 13, 2008 Author Share Posted March 13, 2008 i am not done with it yet, but it is confirmed to install and work fine... only thing is missing kalyway update in the package, which is no problem, bcoz u can install my update package right after kalyway finishes install (but not restartedt).... and when this update is finished, you can restart it totaly... and wait for another restart (from the original installation ... dont worry system will restart before it goes to gui... and than voila.... there you have it... for this update work as it is right now, you need kalyway on your desktop as well... what to do? ======== ++ read this page to do bottom first, understand what needs to be done, than start reading again from here one by one to apply everything in order... ++ copy kalyway 10.5.2 update to desktop ++ extract my build.zip to desktop (see the link at the bottom of the page) ++ start installing kalyway ++ when kalyway finished (do not restart yet) ++ run my installer 10.5.2 Full System Update with Extras.mpkg (dont worry about too many pkgs-- u only need to run 10.5.2 Full System Update with Extras.mpkg) (dont choose everything as in the picture, read bottom part, picture is just to show what is inside...) ++ restart from kalyways installer... or from top corner menu... ++ before you go to gui, it will restart again as i said in the beginning, (it is normal from the main installer) ++ once it started again, it should go to gui this time... ======= what to choose on my installer? for nforce ======= + 1.0 Gfx Update fixed for nforce + correct nvinject memory! + system.kext by default selected already + any driver you wanna test? (make sure you use only one type of smbios, as choosing two will cause first one to be replaced by the next one... and if u ve usb problem u can try orbyte's usb driver?... or sata dvd not mounting cds? u can test nforce ata test?) + kernel of you choice? (sleep kernel? or kabyl efi kernel? your choice) (choose only one kernel!) + some usefull programs at the end... if u dont know how to install drivers or kernel, u can use these programs... Mysticus C* Posted March 13, 2008 Author Share Posted March 13, 2008 @silversix: read my guide properly, on board lans has problem generally on nforce chipsets, I am using 8139 chipped nic card called sweex lc001, and if i dont use heavy internet, i can stay online for wholeday... @demon: for slow hdd, get me your pata device ids, I will make appleviaata work for your controller... @zonker: you have to experiment it yourself after the update, nano into nvdanv50hal.kext/contents/info.plist add your id, and same in nvdaresman... but do these after 10.5.2 update... above I mentioned... but dont forget: kalyway first (no restart) run my installer) once finished, dont restart yet... open terminal window sudo su password cd /System/Library/Extensions/ nano NVDANV50Hal.kext/Contents/info.plist add your device id as the first one to pci primary match (not the class match!!! dont touch this part) you will see many device ids... and check the format of your device id and make sure it is similar to those in the list once done ctrl+O enter ctrl+X do the same things for NVDAResman nano NVDAResman.kext/Contents/info.plist . . . same stufss... so they will look like this in both of them... <key>IOPCIClassMatch</key> <string>0x03000000&0xff000000</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x062210de 0x019010de 0x019110de .... . . . ok? but this is not guaranteed, you need to test it out yourself... to figure it out... @jvcox: most likely hdd is not well recognized with nforce ata drivers, which is a common problem around... if you read it... only way to find out is trying the installe with ide dvd drive/ and if problem persist again then ide hdd... @karamello: your problem looks like GFx drivers, not the hdd!, your system is loading fine! what you can do is restart at boot press f8 boot with -v -s when all the messages done, press enter couple of times so u go to a clean line now start typing what i write here, and dont forget the spaces between commands and switches i use, many people dont pay attention, and complain that commands are not working... /sbin/mount -uw / (/sbin/mount(space)-uw(space)/ u see where the spaces are?) cd /system/library/extensions rm -R NVD* GeF* (you remove nvidia files? why? bcoz i doubt you will be able to edit them at this stage, so I ask you to remove) it should let you into GUI now, now get kalyway 10.5.2 update and my gfx update and fixes, and place them on your desktop... and follow he guide above... it may or may not work depending on the gfx drivers support on your gfx card... but your id must be in the device id list already... good luck... and anyone try my update along with kalyway? any test results? Install Kalway 5.1 2. Run your 5.2 update. 3. Fix permissions and restart. I added the fix permissions for me as I thought it couldn't hurt to do that. I believe it is the first one.
