krrr
believe me, my card is not the normal 1490, it totally booted up with no 104 error. i think it was already flash (firmware on card or something) by the seller or something cause i dont know why it straightaway worked in my HP Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84072-intel-wireless-2100-2200bg-2915bg-3945abg-4965agn/page/120/#findComment-936438 Share on other sites
maiden7
Surely there's external network adapters that we could use? I'm seriously considering getting one. I don't have Osx86 on my laptop, yet, but I will as soon as I can figure out if my 8400M GS supports QE. You have a luck man - there is a fully working kext to 8400m gs "NVInject 0.2.1" support all the Vram ,QE/CI and everything else ! I just can't set it to get an external display working (there was something lika NVCAP think ,but I don't know exactly )YET Just trying with VGA You can find this kext in almost all the releases of Leopard (Leo4Allv2 for example) Good Luck ! Wayfarer247
Hey guys, I am patiently waiting for this driver just like many of you. I already have donated $20 to the effort. I was talking with someone who mentioned NDIS wrapper, a Linux utility that allows you to convert, or use, Windows' Wireless Drivers for Linux. Now, OS X is a different deal, but it has a lot in common with Unix (leopard does have a fully functional unix heart). So I'm just curious if this process would work on getting the Intel Drivers working on Leopard? Don't go yelling, go about teaching, I'm curious if this process could work, and if not, I want to know why. Thanks! shd
i have a question and if we get an kext from any board that comes with osx, maybe if some with chipset intel, and we modify, like the sounds kext? it is possible to make it functional ? Potto
Hey there jalavoui! I dont know if its something that i'm doing wrong but i've re-installed OS X about 4 times trying to get the drivers to work, I've used the iwi2200 and the iwi2200 svn version; however, i get the same results. I'm able to see the access points around my house (including mine). when i try to connect using NSGUI i get prompted for my wep key. After doing so i get a loading circle and then nothing happens. I've tried with the hex decimal option checked and uncheck. I've rebooted a few times and nothing. I even noticed that after installing both versions of the driver, Network Preferences crashes (closes itself) within seconds of me trying to open it. Any suggestions? Will - It's been a while since you posted this, so I don't know if you resolved your issue. I have an Intel 2915abg card and used iwi2200 for my iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 install. I had the same issues you listed -- I couldn't get the command line version to work for some reason, and when I used NSGUI to connect, it would sit with a loading circle with no success after entering my WEP password. I got the idea that perhaps it wasn't resolving an IP, and so opened a Terminal. While the nsgui attempted to connect, I typed at the command line: sudo ipconfig set en1 DHCP Almost instantaneously, NSGUI connected with an IP address. I have had this working for a day or so -- so I haven't messed with it much. I am planning on starting with a Automation script, and going from there... I have to manually open nsgui, select my network, paste in my wep key, and drop to command prompt each time I boot my laptop. Hope that helps you or anyone else with similar issues! Downloading files 24 hours without even getting disconnect from the wireless.. add nsgui on your startup item so it will load automatically. kein_yo
So, as I see after a year of research, there is no solution for the wireless 3945 abg?? :S In that case I will have to come back to windows :S Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84072-intel-wireless-2100-2200bg-2915bg-3945abg-4965agn/page/120/#findComment-939322 Share on other sites
millie
Hello there!!! i also am looking for drivers for the 3945. The problem is i have a acer aspire 5920, i have already purchased a DELL DW1390 becuase this was confirmed as working with hackintosh, however my laptop wont boot when i swap round the cards the screen will not come on at all and the hard drive wont spin. After some research i found out that the bios must be whitelisting meaning that it wont boot with the other card for some reason. My question is does anyone know of any cards working in hackintosh that are supported with the acer aspire 5920? How close are we to having a 3945 driver? And finally what is the best usb card to get? i want it to be working with airport without having to use a 3rd party app such as realtek Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84072-intel-wireless-2100-2200bg-2915bg-3945abg-4965agn/page/120/#findComment-939823 Share on other sites

MagicWTF
TNW wanted me to share with everyone some rather big news. He has been hard at work, delving into the innards of the Darwin kernel, finding strange and obscure misfeatures involving, among other things, non-aligned IOMallocContiguous() calls. In addition to fixing the initialization problems, the card now properly starts up, initializes, receives data, and enters ieee80211_rx_irqsafe(). Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the first packet received by this driver: A80000001B026B87000006000000000001002300000 A830080000000FFFFFFFFFFFF001E4C427849001E4C 427849C04F8691AC642700000064001104000C4C69 7665626F782D44454430010882848B962430486C030 1010504010300002A01002F010032040C121860DD16 0050F20101000050F20201000050F20201000050F20 2DD180050F2020101800003A4000027A4000042435E 0062322F00 Which looks an awful lot like an ESSID broadcast. Specifically, of the AP named "Livebox", which I'm told belongs to TNW himself. There is much more work to do, but now the hardware is at least starting to behave. -Symuc Just thought I'd dig this up to remind people how far we've come in the past few months, and just how close we are, Jal is getting pretty close to his money goal on the website. With a little luck we could easily have this by christmas, remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, be patient and good things will come. Like many of you complaining I've been waiting a long while too, but as far as I see it, life is short, why worry. Here's to hoping we get a driver soon, only one hundred € to go. = D P.s. I forgot how to link the quote back to symuc's original post >.< sorry Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84072-intel-wireless-2100-2200bg-2915bg-3945abg-4965agn/page/120/#findComment-940351 Share on other sites

uncopan
Can you put the work on a public svn / cvs or something like this ? This way others may be able to add to your code and the whole process will be faster i think. And in the process we might even be able to write a howto . Maybe this way on the next piece of hardware without drivers the whole process will be easyer. driver statusiwi2100 - work with no wep for osx 10.4. os x 10.5 is untested iwi2200 - wep support for os x 10.4/5 iwi3945/4965 - i'll finish the drivers as soon as i have a laptop to work. the drivers scan for networks - need to test packed code and make it associate (this was what i've done in iwi2100 in 2 days) and... i do not intend to abandon the iwidarwin project Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84072-intel-wireless-2100-2200bg-2915bg-3945abg-4965agn/page/120/#findComment-941672 Share on other sites

Exiled
might be a stupid question, but i know you can't connect to a network using the iwi3945, but what about creating a network?
