Tried the righteye kext, autoload without crash ;) (for the moment). See the attached logs.

Seems that my 3945 hardware not probed correctly (mac address ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff )

dmesg.txt

ioreg.txt

system.txt

Try to reboot the system and press F8 ... then -s ... try to turn on the card because looks like is off ... then tipe exit to boot in the system ... and get the logs after that.

Another thing ... hmm ... the kext is trying to find something on my user folder ... do not know why ... i think is not proper

i have a light "on" for the wireless activation ... and my bios is well configured to activate it at boot.

But it tries to configure it as "en0" .. in logs it says that "en1 is not running" .... my ethernet card is not installed/recognized so i have only the loopback interface (lo0) before the iwi3945 loads.

i have tried to switch my wireless state (but the light turn off) and it's the same result .

i saw the reference to YOUR user directory .. but the problem is before that lines :P as long as my 3945 try to be in "en0" i think it won't work. because driver work with the "en1" value (hard coded ?)

That means we have to wait jalavoui, he knows for sure what is all about ...

yes :P it's undoubtedly hard coded because i have no "en1" interface lol ;) More people could test if the driver could detect the proper interface ;) but for the moment ... the driver no longer KP (even after an hour) (compared to few previous releases) . it's a good news ! :)

PS. : i have to stop putting smiley's everywhere XD)

Here are my logs, I've added 1 log with the kextload command & 1 log complete log from boot (used reload in console to get this log). Here they are. No KP or Hangs btw

Hey jalavoui sorry haven't been on here all weekend. Wanted to get some rest. Anyways you say the 2200 is rev 779 correct? Well I'm at school and its not wanting to get the hidden SSID on my schools campus. Its not a secure network its open so no passwords or anything. What would you need to fix this :)

And I could up a version for 10.5 up if you want but problem is this, like i said before when i build it i don't know if it's actually reupdating the kext file and dmg file. And i told you that when i remove the .dmg file from my xcode folder it won't build and gives me a password error. What could be causing this?

Thanks.

iwi3945 rel 781

more scan stuff - as anyone get a log without errors?

about en0,en1,etc - never mind - i think it works now

some of you are testing old iwi3945 versions - get the latest from svn tree

rev 779 is for os x 10.4

you need to build the os x 10.5 iwi2200 version and test nsgui for hidden nets

mac address ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

this is the worst of all iwi3945 bugs

i think os x 10.5.2 as fixed this

one hack: edit info.plist and add the real mac address to the parameter p_mac

remove extensions cache files and reboot

Thats what i did. And nothing. Didn't work, and i have the latest build from the site. built it and manually installed using kextloader. the nsgui isn't showing any hidden networks. Network is called NOMAD and nothing is coming up.

Thanks

did you move nsgui from build to applications?

search in code for this line:

//#define IWI_DEBUG_FULL_MODE

and replace by

#define IWI_DEBUG_FULL_MODE

you'll get a long system.log

post it here

open console->system.log

use reload to get all log lines

tip:

try a reboot and test nsgui again

can you build iwi2200.dmg susefully? post it here

tip2:

goto windows and run the card on by pressing the wireless switch

reboot to mac os x

nsgui on/off should work better

this will work for hidden essid with or without wep protection

haha ok i pulled out the new nsGUI from the build and ran it and it finds it but crashes when i try to connect to it. Wheres the log system.txt? Is it just the one from the OS or does iwi2200 create one? just want to make sure.

Thanks man

EDIT:

Alright well i was wrong. it connects to network BUT the icon for nsGUI is gone. Thats why i thought it crashed. Rebooting to see if it still works cause for some reason my OS started running sluggesh. If this works i'll be VERY happy!!

Hi all, been gone too long, am finally back after a fresh Kalyway 10.5.1 install - the only install I could get working on my Dell D600 after some tweaking, so I will be able to test my Intel 2200 with it now (vs. previously being on Tiger). I went ahead & snagged the latest iwi2200.dmg SVN (rev. 781) for 10.5 just now and tried an install, but first thing I notice right away is after a reboot it gives the error message that iwi2200.kext was not installed correctly. Anyone else experienced this same problem or found a way to correct? Sorry if I've missed any previous posts during my absence, I've only read back about 5 pages so far. I will post some logs here in a bit.. Thx.

the iwi2200.dmg os x 10.5 from svn is very old - build a new one

or

build iwi2200.xcodeproj -> it will place iwi2200.kext on extensions

build nsgui.xcodeproj -> move the build nsgui.app to applications

fix permissions with disk utility

reboot

Alright Jalavoui here's my system.txt file i got. Don't know if it will help or not let me know k. O and since i got it working now do i need to go back in the code and comment that debug stuff out?

Also when building it will it take the .dmg in the folder and update it with current kext and nsGUI stuff?

Thanks again

irBOrNE- it was giving me same thing. I'm about to upload latest .dmg file that supports hidden SSID's and what i did because i didn't trust the .dmg is i just took the kext file and did a manual kextload using the app. or doing it in console (i recommend using the kextloader b7 in applications if you have it cause it does everything for you). After this place the nsGUI and networkSelector in applications folder and reboot. Should be ready to go.

system.txt

nop - if it works i'm very happy

to build iwi2200.dmg

delete the old one

open iwi2200.xcodeproj

press build

if it fails to create the new one - press build again

open iwi2200.dmg

open iwi2200.pkg (double click)

try to install - the installer should pop up

should work fine - na - must work fine :)

iwi3945

the driver only need to be tested 2/3 minutes

please post logs or i'll zzzzz
