mac-os-ash
Hi there! Can I just ask if this guide would work on a ASUS P5N-D SLi Motherboard? It has a 750i SLi chipset. Will Leopard's legacy audio and network drivers work without downloading additional kexts? dopyoman
hey guys i dont know what to do any more like you i have a p5n-e 650i mobo. ive tried several diff. installs, they all install but when i go to reboot after the iinstall it gets stuck at the grey screen. so i try -v -f cpus=1 an i see it loading the os but just gets stuck it looks like it load nvinject but then gets stuck displaying "couldn't read user-specified local hostname; using default bmacintosh-000000000000 localb instead'' it gets stuck here with both kalyway an iatkos. i've tried diff. kerenal combos an driver combos but they all get stuck after the reboot my setup asus p5n-e quad core q4400 i think. its 2.4ghz nvidia 8800gt 120 gb hd wd ide EDIT: When I install with iAtkos 2.0i and the ToH kernal I get a kernal panic after the reboot. I've tried many pother combinations including following the nforce newbie guide of setting the install up exactly like in the his picture but it still hangs after the reboot. So maybe someone here knows what setting work best with an iAtkos 1.0ir3, iAtkos 2.0i, or a Kalyway 10.5.2 install since these are the install disks I have so far. dirty
Hello! I'v been sucessfull for the installation of Iatkos Mac Os X 86. (Thank for the guide). The problem im trying to get by is that, i'v always got to boot with -x , what i would like to do is boot witheout the safe mode. Is anyone here got a solution for this? My audio isn't working too, i'v got Realtek 883 thanx! [------Edit----------------------------------------------------] I recently try many things to overcome the boot witheout safe mode -x. The problem for me was the "NVDAResman.kext"(i also removed the GeForce.kext). I then removed it,reboot and voilà! Then the problem was the resolution, i'v pass from 1680x1050 to 1024x728, not terrible... The answer was: Nvidia Installer V1.9 by Punk92 (you can find it in the drivers section of this forum) And i was finished with the video resolutions problems. for the sound, i downloaded the leo4all os x 86 10.5.2 and installed the package for acl883 with pacifist. I try to resolve the sound input by the method mention in post #1, that made my install a wreck. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The last problem i'v got is that sometimes freezes occurs, that is often cause when im on the web, where there is flash objects. I'v try booting with cpus=1 to see if this still happen and it did freeze too. The freeze is kind of weird cause, the windows can't be move, but the mouse still work. I can't force quit. Akms
I followed the insturctions, using an IDE hard drive and an IDE DVD drive and still no luck. I can boot from the DVD and install os x but when i go to boot from the hard drive i just get 'still waiting for root device'. I just cant get the hard drive to load up leopard!! Im using Leo4Allv3 which already has the sata patch applied and its all installed fine, before using sata i did everything IDE including the DVDRW. Ive tried every solution already, please help!!! Ive tried every solution already, please help!!! Iatkos was the only install that didn't bug, like getting to 99% and jamming, like leo4all or kallyway... I was having this problem too, until i put the ide dvd drive to master and the id as slave on the same ide connector... Also Did you try to load, with safe boot: -x Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83092-howto-p5n-e-sli-nforce-650i-leopard-complete-walkthrough-guide/page/5/#findComment-833104 Share on other sites
dirty
Thanks but could you elaborate a bit further?I have used Leo4All and iAtkos and neither have bugged at install. Its just the reboot after install where everything hangs. Using Vanilla kernel gives me an infinite reboot loop no matter what command i use. Using any other kernel gives me the 'still waiting for root device' line. Did safe boot fail too? Akms
I must have installed os x atleast 20x now but still no luck. Im using IDE drives only but after installation it boots to just black screen with a flashing command cursor but u cant type anything. I have no idea what im doing wrong!!! EDIT: Ok i tried activating the partition and it seems to have got me one step closer. It now allows me to type in commands but anything i type forces it into a reboot loop. I have tried -x, -v, -v -f, -v -f cpus=1 Im currently using iAtkos v1.0 r2 EDIT: I downloaded and burnt Kalyway 10.5.2 instead and it installed and booted from the IDE no problems. When it goes into screensaver the screen turns off and consequently doesnt come back on again no matter what buttons you press. Anyone got a fix for this and has anyone got this working on a sata drive on this mobo?
