Could you describe what options did you choose on ipc and bios? I want help my sister to install leo and her computer's config are p5ne-sli, sata hd and dvd and core 2 duo e6750. The problem I'm miles away from her and I need to do a little tutorial. Thank you in advance.

It would be nice if you describe what options to choose in bios and installation if you don't mind. I would thank forever...

ok i've managed to install iPC 10.5.6 Final on my rig :

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 @ 3GHz

P5N-E SLi(bios 1301)

4GB RAM

Radeon HD 4850 512MB

and here's the problem: i can only boot with "cpus=1" flag, otherwise my mouse and keyboard freeze. With "cpus=1" flag everything works fine excet i've only one core ;/ is there any fix for this ? or maybe i have to change some settings in bios ?

I'm using Voodoo Kernel 9.5.0 (on vinilla i'm getting kernel panic "wait queue deadlock").

  • 2 weeks later...

managed to install only the iDeneb 1.4 10.5.6, all the rest didn't get me anyware..and i tryed iAtkos from v1 to v5.5i, Kalyway 10.5.2 and iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5...

when installing i chose only the voodoo kernel 9.5.0, apple nforce ata, jmicron driver, nvdarwin512 for gf8800gt 512 and the the fix for ddr2 800...the sound works with the pach found at the beginning of this topic

did not try ethernet or firewire, the usb works perfect for me tryed even some aplications...

one issue is that it doesn't want to shutdown...

i can restart and everything but no shutdown

and the second one was that i was unable to mount the dmg's that i was downloading...

if u get kernel panic when trying to do so use this fix works perfect for me

  • 3 weeks later...

almost 100% working!

Specs in signature

iPC OSx86 Final 10.5.6 V1.1 PPF

the DVD boots without any flags, though I used -v

Voodoo kernel

Chipset: ApplenForceATAtest

Video: Nvinject default

Audio: ALC 883

Ethernet: nForce LAN

Patched USB

Seatbelt 10.5.5

Shutdown/restart fix

SMBIOS 667MHz

All applications except the first one

-Sound works after setting "Output" to Line-Out.

-Video has glitches, so I used EFI studio to add EFI string for 8800GS 384MB. Then I deleted nvinject.kext, and cleared extensions cache and touched the folder with OSx86tools. Rebooted and video is working perfectly.

-Ethernet worked after I updated with 0.62.12n here. I simply ran the .pkg file and rebooted.

One minor problem though, the computer doesnt shutdown/restart properly. Screen goes black but the fans still spin.

i solved this issue by disabling onboard firewire, now my mouse and keyboard works with both cores enabled. no freezes! ;]

I screwed up my OSx86 installation earlier when trying to enable USB 2.0, so I reinstalled it. Now everything is pretty much working 100%

iPC OSx86 Final 10.5.6 V1.1 PPF

Kernel: Voodoo

Chipset: ApplenForceATAtest

Video: none

Audio: ALC 883

Ethernet: none

Fixes: Seatbelt 10.5.5, Shutdown/restart fix, Dual-boot time sync fix, SMBIOS 667MHz

This time around, I did not install the patched USB drivers. USB 2.0 works fine out of the box without them.

After installation:

Go to sound preferences and change "Output" to Line-Out.

Use EFI studio to add EFI string for 8800GS 384MB.

Run the 0.62.12n.pkg here

What works:

Video QE/CI hardware acceleration

Sound output

Ethernet

USB 2.0 (including front panel)

Apple Software Update

Shutdown and restart

Not tested:

Firewire (disabled in BIOS since I don't have any Firewire devices)

Sound input

eSATA

I have this mobo and the guide seems quite complicated to me.

To install Leopard, i use iPC 10.5.6 then install combo updates 10.5.7 & 10.5.8.

The installation is straight and just require to check some options (very few) at the installation of Leopard.

Sorry for bad english.

which options did you select? i tried countless combinations with iPC, and the install would get to the same place every time, and just hang. i let it sit for a while, then i would just reboot. thanks for the reply

I'll try to give you the informations as soon as possible but i am quite busy right now. ;)

no problem my friend. thanks for checking back with me!!!!

Ok, here is my installation :

I use iPC 10.5.6 and install Leopard on a MBR partition. I have a tri-boot Leopard / WinXP / Win7.

Here are the options i select :

-> Kernels

# 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel

-> Drivers

-> Chipset Drivers

# AppleNForceATA nForce Drivers

-> Audio Drivers

-> ALCxxx

# ALC883

-> Fixes and patches

# SATA Drive Icon Fix (new)

# Dual Boot Time Sync

# SeatBelt.kext 10.5.5

-> DSDT patches

# Patch DSDT

-> Apple SMBIOS patch

# AppleSMBIOSEFI

And that's all.

The installation finish but the computer may not reboot automatically so force it.

Then no problem to boot.

No problem to update to 10.5.7 and 10.5.8.

Tell me if you want details.

thanks for the info!!!!!!!! i'll try this for sure. one thing i forgot to ask is in the bios. did you make any changes? what version bios do you have. min is quite old at 0703. would i need to update?

I have the BIOS 1101.

Yes, i have made changes in the BIOS. Here are the main options to set.

Edit : by the way, the OpenHaltRestart kext should be selected for installation. It solves halt/reboot problems.

Can be found here : http://www.psystar.com/opensource/openhaltrestart

Edit 2 : Install the kext from this topic for onboard lan : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=125569

this is awesome. i may finally get this to work. you rock.

as far as the bios changes you made. i assume you change them back after osx install? for instance onboard lan, jmicron sata, and plug anf play os.

Tony

I assume you can change them back but only testing will tell :(
