SonyStyle,

Try booting in safe mode (-x flag). If the machine will boot, once you log in reinstall the 10.5.5 combo update. Sometimes some graphics kexts will not install properly and the machine will hang upon upon boot. Also remember that after installing the update, the next reboot the system will actually install it then it will reboot on its own. Third, there is no need to remove IntelCPUPowerManagement.kext because my boot ISO contains the IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext which renders that kext benign.

If anyone has the no-sleep sound fix working on an XPS 1330 could you please post your HDAEnabler and AppleHDA kexts? I've been unable to get that working properly with the internal speakers.

Superhai, does the dsdt.aml fix break ACPIBattery.kext? Despite the kext loading correctly on my notebook it does not correctly detect the power source as battery (it says Power Adapter) and always says "Not Charging" for the time. However, it seems to be accurately displaying the percentage left on the battery. I attached the debugging info.

Edit: Ya, I moved back to the non-dsdt boot file for Chameleon and the battery status works as intended.

I have 2 questions for Macgirl... Do you have sound and restart/shutdown working on your XPS M1330?

And do you have a guide for a Vanilla-install?

Edit: don't bother question 2, at first i didn't see that Wingrunr21's guide is sufficient enough, thanks!

Sound works. Sonotone's installer should be able to get that working for you. Shutdown/restart do not work. There is no known solution.

ummm on Post #2188 Macgirl posted Nvinject for the M1330 Graphics card(8400M GS)

Is it possible for anyone to do the same but for the M530 8600M GT graphics card..where by i download and jus put to the appropraite folder.

And pls put HDMI/VGA output. thanks alot..macgurl hope u can help

OSx86 is not a "just works" OS. You are going to have to put some effort into the system.

This link will give you the correct nvcap value.

Thanks for the big help. I am working on audio setup for 10.5.2 ... Let me how things go on & then come back for help !!

Thanks

By this you mean that once you install NVinject it is possible to have shutdown and restart working correctly?

By that he meant that he wanted a kext that would just work instead of modifying it himself.

Once again, there is no way to get shutdown/restart working when you have the nvidia drivers working. At the moment they are mutually exclusive.

ok I did the ehcisleepenabler, and fixed the plist, my bluetooth and usb aren't working, is there a workaround?

Open up a terminal, type "kextstat" and verify that IOUSBFamily.kext as well as AppleUSBEHCI.kext are loaded. If they are not check /Applications/Utilities/Console.app -> system.log for error messages.

checked the log it said " can't find extension with idcom.apple.iokit.IOUSBUserclient" how do I enable this?

sorry for the noob questions

Hi all,

I'm trying to use the dsdt fix with patched chameleon boot file.

After using the fassl patcher, it worked for me, using the "-newHPET" argument to "DSDT Patcher", otherwise i got some Hpet errors message at boot (Hpet 0 something...) and a Kernel Panic right after.

So AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement was able to be loaded.

I deleted my GenericCPUPM kext from Superhai (to try to be as vanilla as possible)

First boot worked, second did not, third worked but the most anoying thing was that my laptop was very laggy, itunes wasn't able to play a song smoothly...

So i added back GenericCPUPM and Disabler kexts to disable the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement kext again.

I'm using a Dell XPS1530 with C2D T9300 2,5Ghz Cpu. Has anyone tried it with the same configuration?

Also, to notice, deepsleep, shutdown, reboot did not worked for me with the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement kext loaded...

Regards,

Ok, I started again and I Stuck again!!

can someone just list the steps for vanilla install?

What I do:

Boot from MyBoot CD,

Boor Retail Disc,

Install Leopard

Install 10.5.5 Combo Update

Install Chameleon

And It doesn't boot after it at all! What do I do wrong? any step that I forgot? I though maybe installing the kexts that comes with MyBoot CD helps, but it didn't...

HELP PLEASE!

Ok, Somehow I solved the problem! (I had too boot with -X after installing the 10.5.5 combo update and install necessary kexts....

Now, 2 more questions:

1. My Sleep is acting weird! If i put it in sleep, it goes in sleep mode very well, but as soon as the fan of the cpu turn off, it turns on again and the whole computer wakes up!! What's wrong?? any idea??

2. Is there anyway to have Retail Leopard and non 64-bit version of Vista together on a single drive? How?

Thanx! especially to Wingrunr21!

Go to www.superhai.com/darwin.html and follow his instructions on installing EHCISleepEnabler.kext. That should fix #1. As for #2, do a search in the forum for dual-booting. There are quite a few topics regarding it. For instance, devilhood has a thread about it: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=39253

Thanx wingrunr21, You're really helpful...

Ok, Superhai said:

Readme for EHCISleepEnabler

To enable it you have to edit the Info.plist in

/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBEHCI.kext/Contents/

You need to add these lines

<key>OSBundleCompatibleVersion</key>

<string>1.0</string>

under

<key>CFBundleVersion</key>

<string>3.1.5</string>

First, I dont have such a path! I have info.plist in "/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/", but not in the "PlugIns" folder! Actually, I dont have plugins folder at all!

Secondly, I tried to edit the "Info.plist" that I have in "/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/", but It didn't work! although superhai said I should put it under "<string>3.1.5</string>" which i dont have in my file! mine is different number in the string tag! should I just change it to what super hai said and add the part? I added the part without changing the number, It didn't work!

Any suggestion?

The problem lies with the AppleUSBEHCI.kext not IOUSBFamily.kext so modifying that Info.plist will do nothing for you. Secondly, you have a vanilla installation correct? There should be a PlugIns folder inside /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents. Could you possibly post a screenshot of your directory listing?

ls -la /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents

Run that in a terminal and take a screenshot of the result.

Oh Dude, I made a super big mistake! I'm an idiot!!

I was trying to find the plist file in "AppleUSBEHCI.kext" ! I read it again and install the kext again, do the modification in the RIGHT place and now it's fully working!

Thanx!! & sorry for my idiocy!! :)

WOW! Even the power light is snoring in sleep! Cool! :P

If anyone has the no-sleep sound fix working on an XPS 1330 could you please post your HDAEnabler and AppleHDA kexts? I've been unable to get that working properly with the internal speakers.

I *used* to have it working before my most recent hardware replacement: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry867826 (I currently have to use the sleep fix)

Audio on the system depends on the motherboard from my experience. I've had maybe 9 motherboard replacements due to faulty parts/failed GPU/etc. Over the past couple months, I've kept the same audio kexts and sound likes to work without the sleep fix on some motherboards and on others require the sleep fix.

I can't recall any specifics, but one key point I remember is that all of the no-sleep audio boards have older BIOS revisions. Also, with the no-sleep boards, sound is capable of being output through the first headphone jack and onboard speakers *simultaneously*. The sleep-fix boards don't have that capability; they only output sound from the onboard speakers or the second headphone jack.

Well hot damn, Sleep finally works! Thanks wingrunr21 and everyone else!

So now I have just about every single thing working with OSX 10.5.5 with my M1530.

The ONLY thing holding it back from being flawless is proper shutdown. When I choose shutdown it'll close out of OSX properly and shutdown to a black screen, only the power light remains on. The only way to shutdown completely is to then hold the Power button until it manually shuts off.

Anyone know if there's a solution for that so that Shutdown completely powers off my M1530?

Thanks ;)

rAy

thanks a ton to sonotone for excellent package. i have got almost everything working on dell inspiron 1520 (x3100) with IATKOS 4i. if anybody knows these two things

please help me -

1. I have installed gma x3100 from dell post installer 1.3.1. Now, my graphics works at full 1280x800 and resolution change also works well. but whenever my system boots into mac i dont get all the icons on desktop. Moreover, the right mouse click doesn't work on desktop. but as soon as i change my resolution to 1024x768, all the icons also come and then i revert back to 1280x800 so the problem solves there. Is there ny simple solution to this problem ? and i already repaired disk permission

with sudo diskutil repairPermissions /. So, plz help me.

2. Sleep for my dell inspiron 1520 is not working, but then also i used the "lid sleep" fix from 1.3.1 installer. Then also

the problem of sleep still exists. my laptop doesn't get sleep, when my laptop goes to sleep it doesn't come out of that.

So is there any solution to get sleep working on dell inspiron 1520 with iatkos 4i. Superhai had released some usbehci kexts for iatkos 2i. Will they work on iatkos 4i. if yes/no how to install those kext and also provide link. And also tell if installing those will stop my usb ports from working. (i dont wanna lose the whole system for getting sleep working).

Can lid sleep fix cause problem, if yes how to remove them. since my sleep is not working.
