Heit seems your problems come from the Nvidia kexts. some 7300 need to be flashed to work with them. Go to the Gotoh's Nvinject page : http://nvinject.free.fr , you will certainly obtaining help there.

thanks! :-)

I guess It needs to be flashed .. aargh ..

Is there any recommendation for a card working perfectly with 10.5.1, especially dual screen? no matter if ATI or NVIDIA.

should be passive cooled or very low noise.

are you sure your dvd is ok ? let the verification to see if it is not defective. what choices in the installer do you make ?

Thanks Dune31 for your prompt reply.

I've burnt maybe 5 dvd's. Verified fine with nero and osx. Burnt at 1 speed!!! Initially i had got iatkos to work and then it sunddenly shut downa and the bios said something about overclocking failed???

Tried to reinstall but didn't happen. Downed Kalway and it worked. Then reinstalled to change to MBR and thats when the pain set in. I tried ti install again with guid and its a no go.

Basically my settings are i choose both vanilla options..HDA 883 for sound and efi Mbr and thats it.

No idea whats wrong cos i installed kalway twice out of 10 tries..bad averages but i'm persistent.

I don't really want to use iatkos again cos it was a bit to slow and had issues..but kalway..when installed was wonderful.

CHeers for your help and if you have any ideas i would appreciate your knowledge.

Hello,

I've succesfully installed Leopard. I have a PS/2 Keyboard and an USB Mouse and I can't seem to get the keyboard working, so I can't fill in my name and stuff. I just need to acces the Terminal to unload some kexts, so that my keyboard would work, but I'm not sure how to manage that.

Any tips?

i recommand you a Powercolor X1950XT (this one is mounted with an Artic cooling) , it works nicely on dual screen and got very good benchmark with OSX.
@DUNEim just wonderin if FInal cut pro 6 runs in P5W DH mobo without any problem/patching. i saw a thread that you need yukon.kext?
i think it works ok since you run vanilla kernel.

Okay, I too have a headache now lol. Read through at least 30 pages of this thread, no luck.

I got the whole GUID thing down I think. Finally got to the part where you select the drive to install on. I highlight it. If I click "customize" or "continue." The window just disappears and leaves me in the installer with no window. I see the customize options for just a split second before it all disappears. The same goes for if I just hit continue. I'm wondering if I'm just pulling some nub move here. The log doesn't give me anything so I assume it's just hanging. Thank you guys.

So after a long time not being able to boot without DVD... I tried one last time, zeroed the drive, installed with SSE2 and MBR EFI selected, and it started without a hitch! Installed NvinjectGo for video support. Installed the Power Management bundle to get the battery icon. Thanks Dune!

start over: chose the nvvidia desktop...both vanilla things...guid this time...the only wifi option....connexant realtek option....and thats it...its installing again...im just gonna do it till it works... =\ but my computer is an hp desktop...nvidia geforce 7900...intel core2duo or watever....{censored} i cant remember...cant go back to vista, it doesthe b0error thing, even if i set vista as active. =[

Ok, I have finally installed this. It worked when I got past the obvious.

1. Put in the DVD and booted

2. Partitioned using GUID

3. Chose 2 of the NVIDIA Options

4. Chose the Reatek Audio option

5. Chose the GUID EFI

6. DID NOT CHOOSE ANY OF THE VANILLAS

7. Installed

8 Restarted

9. F8 and then chose the Leopard Partition with the DVD in( Always kept trying to boot from the new OSX but constantly rebooted).

I had the same problem with an HD2600 XT. The solution is:

1) Download Netkas' HD2900 driver

2) Open with Pacifist and extract the kexts from inside (you need a working OSX installation or maybe you can ask the kexts to someone ;) )

3) Copy kexts on a USB drive and boot the DVD with the drive connected

4) Open Terminal from the setup program and copy the kexts from the drive to your Extensions folder

5) Repair permissions and reboot

If I installed Kalyway's with EFI and GUID and basically chose no options will this be a vanilla install? If not what kext files are replaced from a vanilla install? Thanks!!If I installed Kalyway's with EFI and GUID and basically chose no options will this be a vanilla install? If not what kext files are replaced from a vanilla install? Thanks!!

Many thanks to the creators of this build, its simply amazing. I ran into a few little problems with the soundcard on my P5K deluxe but i did a reinstall with the correct driver this time and everything works i just cant get over it.

In the end i just installed it and off i went, there is a issue with the JMACRON IDE/SATA controller and booting the DVD, but i just ran the DVD drive off my USB enclosure connector and hooked the destination HDD up to the ide channel instead. Once its all installed they can be swapped back again :)

So far everythings running perfect, graphics acceleration is amazing compared to the last revisions and there was no stress installing.
