I went to winsupersite.com, as a weekly routine, to read on how not to be a failure. There was a new article entitled "New WGA Behavior in Windows Vista Service Pack 1."

When I read what will happen, I found it quite funny: "Beginning with SP1, RFM and NGS are a thing of the past. Instead, systems that fail activation or validation will enter a notifications-based mode of operation that's similar to what happens in XP today. At logon, the user is prompted to activate via a pop-up dialog box that can't be dismissed for 15 seconds. And once logged on, the system will prompt the user every hour by changing the desktop wallpaper or background to plain black and flashing an activation dialog and a balloon help dialog near the system tray. You can ignore the pop-ups and change the background back to your favorite photo, but it will all happen again in another hour. The key point is that no real functionality is now lost, as was the case with RFM and NGS." Read again to believe!

I hate DRM and all that jazz but.. theres no reason to pirate your OS. If you're going to be using Windows every single day, you should buy it.

Just because you use {censored} dont mean you have to pay for it as well, unlimited is a ripoff to say the least.

When it comes to software and operating systems, If I'm going to use them regularly: I pay for them. Software I use daily, be it Mac or Windows, I pay for. Obviously something like Photoshop is exempt here. I use Windows almost every single day, I buy it. If I was going to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or something, hey maybe I wouldn't.

Microsoft makes a massive step in improving WGA and all they receive are snide, immature remarks. Rad.

I'm not even going to bother addressing the first thing you and will simply leave you with "wow." Oh, and than don't buy Ultimate? No one is forcing you and there are cheap versions like Home Premium which is all most people need.

People always go on about how expensive Vista is and all they mention is Ultimate and blatantly ignore the other versions. I mean, it's not like you can get Home Premium for the same price as Leopard.. right?

Oh wait, you can?!

Apple Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard - $109.99

Microsoft Windows Vista 32-Bit Home Premium - $109.99

Who said anything about leopard, you've got a problem there my little Windows friend. Yes I would expect a product being a year old to depreciate in value and while we are at it, home premium dont have the features of Leopard, no 64bit and non of the others. It's your {censored} attempt to compare apples with apple.

Why is Photoshop exempt?, just because you dont use it everyday dont give you the right to claim people should buy something they use every day. lol

Forceman, no, just no. You see, when people say Apple Macs are expensive, what does the other crowd do? They compare it to the obvious competitors, like Dell, to show whether it is/is not expensive. So, I did the same thing, as there is what, how many other OSs average consumers can buy and Leopard/Vista are the 2 main ones. Talk about being one sided/hypocrtical.

And saying Home Premium doesn't have the features as Leopard is a silly thing to say because Leopard doesn't have all the same features of Windows, neither does Linux or FreeBSD have all the same features or some check list way of comparing them. Also, Home Premium does have 64Bit, you can either buy a copy which comes with a 64Bit DVD instead of 32Bit one or you can get Microsoft to ship you the 64Bit DVD, for free (Or I think it went up to $5 or so).

Numberzz, who claimed Home Premium had all the features of Ultimate? I clearly didn't though I did say Home Premium is all most people need unless for some reason your grandma needs BitLocker and EFS.

Home Premium has 64-bit support, if you order the 64-bit version instead. It also has backup.

Even more confusing then, the nonsense of Vista goes on.

Your comparing two products, one of which has many more features. I said Ultimate was a ripoff but the best you can come up with is the Premium version. It's the same old {censored} from you Windows freaks, the grandma card comes out and you think you can play it as a joker when all your card are bust.

Go to laugh at your persistence and I dont see you posting any more Vista great sales threads because it's sell like a, oh it's not ;)

Okay, so aside from the fact that you've failed to address more or less anything I've said and instead stooped to silly, tired and invalid insults, I'll point out the continuous barrage of flaws rained upon us from you.

Your latest post accuses Home Premium of being vastly less in features compared to Ultimate thus making a comparison against Leopard invalid. Well, according to the image from Numberzz it seems that accounts to 4 features missing, many of which aren't not needed by the average consumer. See, that's where the grandma card came into play and you labelled that as a poor attempt but you failed to explain why. So, either explain why my analogy is not valid or don't make petty remarks in regards to it -- so it seems my cards aren't 'busted,' sorry but try some more petty insults, it might work next time! ^________^

Oh, and you're confused by having to think "Gee, my computer is 64Bit, I better get the 64Bit version" ? I think you have greater problems than overwhelming yourself in replying to [apparent] comments from Windows freaks so you might want to step aside.

Way to go. Oh, and it's you're, not your, if you're going to try and an insult me at least do it with the level of grammar many attain in primary school.. unless you're one of those kids who never gets his pen license.

Here's a list of things I've said you failed to address yet still felt it was appropriate to hurl a childish insult at me:

- Comparing # of features between OS

- 64Bit being available despite you claiming it isn't though admittedly you pushed it aside playing the confusion card but I have addressed that too albeit in a round about way

- My reply to you calling my comparison of Leopard/Vista invalid with my example of Dell/Mac comparisons

I'm fairly certain it's more but it seems it would be silly to add those since you don't seem capable of replying to those few ones though you're certainly capable of swearing and making grand comments like Windows freaks which apparently helps convince people of your view. Vista is selling quite well too and Microsoft, despite the things you people say and being around forever, is still increasing it's profits -- the mythical real world, check it out, there are hypocrites there too, you'll feel right at home.

When you start correcting people about their spelling that means your out of things to say and it's lame. You just got OWNED. I've got nothing more to say to you so consider yourself ignored.

4 features missing

You might have realized that Vista only obtained 7 features according to that graph, but in reality, it gained several more. But, let's ignore that for now, and let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Windows Vista!

So, according to you, people would be paying $100 or more just to get the 4, admittedly lame, features that Windows Vista Ultimate has, that Windows Vista Home Premium doesn't have. No.

Photoshop's exempt because people have to actually think about putting down a mortgage on their house before they buy Photoshop.

It's your {censored} attempt to compare apples with apple.
WTF?

Not trying to enter into this vacuous conversation, but Home Premium doesn't have all the features that Ultimate does.

dock-20071208-125607.jpg

Actually Home Premium does have Shadow Copy. I know cause it was stealing a buttload of my HDD space until I found the process and disabled it.

Numberzz, and? I said ".. according to Numberzz image .." so my comment was, well, based off the first and only image you had posted.

You're trying to make a point and failing and I don't think I really care about your post outside of referencing the image. Feeling unloved? :P

Not really, I know full well my spelling and grammar is not very good and I accept it, it's just a shame we have people who use that as a way to win a argument and insult because they have nothing more to say.

Grandma and Average Joe may well want to know what advanced features do, dont make them out to be retards and think advanced features are not for them.

Actually, I don't use it as a way to win an argument and/or insult people, at most it's usually a small note near the end of a post. See, I guess your way to 'win arguments' is to blatantly ignore everything the person has said and nitpick on small things and build up straw man arguments.

Like you've just done, again. /high-five

I never implied or said they were retards, I said that the majority of people would not care about they're 'missing,' I mean, they don't know of or use things like EFS which is present so why would they want BitLocker. I'm pointing out the truth and unfortunately for you it doesn't help your side.
