blubyu
Hi gang, Firstly, a big thank you to Zephroth, for everything you do for the scene mate! Secondly and admittedly this is probably the dumbest thing to ever do and then ask about later, but I installed Leopard on an Asus A8N-SLI (vanila) + Athlon64 4600 x2 & 4GB RAM almost perfectly. Once in Leopard, keen to experiment I thought I would install all the available Leopard update (force of habit, what with being a Windows user 'n all lol!) After the installs & reboot, if I try to click on anything the spinning beach ball thing loops forever with no result, and you cant do anything until you hard power down the PC via the power button on the unit. Any ideas guys? Or has anyone also come across this and fallen into the trap like me?... Cheers, p.s. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! You need to run Marvin's AMD utility. Usually I run this from my Tiger install (since you have noticed that things lock up sometimes when you update ). If you don't have another install then you can try and download the utility and run it. Choose your Leopard Volume....Choose Create Patcher package.....Click Run. It will take a few minutes to run. When it is done it will create a folder on your desktop called AMD-something-something. Inside this folder you will find a patches folder. Drag that folder to your desktop. Reboot using the -s (single user) switch. When you get to the prompt there will be two commands listed on the screen that you should run: /sbin/fsck -fy /sbin/mount -uw / run those. Then cd /Users/XXXXX/Desktop/patches and do this: ./patcher ./cpuid.txt ./replace.sh Those two commands *should* fix everything. Now ask me if I have had to install from scratch after following my own instructions I am now have all my updates and patches installed and so far it is very stable. But it did take a few tries. Good Luck!! P.S : does anyone know a emulator program to run win programs on osx (something like wine, i need it because my internet conections requires an application) Try crossover mac Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/53/#findComment-561289 Share on other sites
sergiales
No luck. It just don´t want to boot on my device. Bsd root: disks1s3 is the last row I get. You have the mach_reboot problem. Revise the entire thread because it has been covered enough. Visit wiki. Your machine reboots because you have a SSE2 processor and you need another kernel. Please search for info in this thread. DoiX
I am new to Mac OS X, and I m trying to install with file mentioned on the first page. I am getting an error approx 3-5 minutes in during the install process! In yellow " Install Failed" Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer The installer could not install some files in /Volumes/Untitled. I have read all 65 pages and have not seen this mentioned, Any help would be great. Thank you in advance! rename you partition whitout spaces ex: "leopard" not "untitled 1". if you get the same error try the solution for the "about a minute left" problem http://osx86.wikidot.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/53/#findComment-561297 Share on other sites

LeeAMDMAC
How much Space do i need for this? at the moment in my hackintosh ive got an 18gb harddrive with two partitions, one im trying to install osx.5 on and the other had osx.4.9 and i tried to update it to osx.4.11 and that screwed the whole thing up. The fact is that file is there and I didn't modify it... It's strange... 1st: the correct path to this file is /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration not "/System/Preferences/SystemConfiguration" If the "com.apple.boot.plist" is there and the boot don't load it try: sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and repair permissions... Josh25
I have the exact same problem that DioX has, Ive tried reinstalling like three times. All on drives i named with no spaces, like "Mac" or something. Everytime for me the installation hangs at somepoint near the end, I reboot to the dvd and "finish" the installation, but it always gives me a big fat error saying Instalation Failed at the end, and reboots. If i then hit f8 it only shows the dvd. Bottom line: Where is this "about a minute left problem fixer" that was mentioned? I cant seem to find it the thread, sorry. mobo: Biostar 6100/754 Nforce430/410 AMD Athlon 64 3200 Seagate 160gig ultraATA HD Nvidia 8600gt P.S. I have had 10.4.10 installed on this drive before, so I know its not the drive or partition problem. The reason it boots to the dvd is because you haven't read any of the install instructions. You need to set your drive up to be bootable. Again, all the instructions to install this are on page 9 of this thread. Dylan-AKA-Hit
I've just made a mpkg for NVidia cards which supports 8600 (prolly 8400 too), I will add it to Rev.2 if you think it's useful. - Info.plist of GeForce.kext contains all dev-id listed in this file. - All kexts come from 10.5.2 beta - It contains NVinject GO and NVinject GO 512 for LAPTOP - NVinject is 0.2.0 (NVinject-32 and NVinject-64 are just here for fun, I don't even know if it's needed and if it works ) Download here Works fantastic, i tried http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=78980 first Didn't work had to remove all geforce kexts too boot, somewhat barely!! Then i installed yours worked perfect can boot mac smoothly now and works on full resolution Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/53/#findComment-561900 Share on other sites
