mac_cute
yes, i had the panic at boot, and i remove the geforce and nvidia kexts, and then tested with that, and produces the error i described, and then i thought that could be due to the lack of video drivers and then installed NVinject kext but the problems remains the same... Your video card may not be the problem:mine is 7300GS 512 Mb and it works fine...For what I see in your sig,did you edit your image and injected the SSE2 kernel right?. insomnimac
Few small problems are that my sound doesn't work and external USB drive isn't detected. Hardware is in my sig, any ideas? Can I use Azalia to enable sound? Thanks zephyroth for this great DVD, I think it's the closest I'll get to a working Leopard install. mrburns05
Weird... My ALC850 was supported out-of-the-box by Zephyroth 10.5.1. Mine also worked but music played kinda crackly sounding so i downloaded "AppleHDAPatcher" (i think that was the name), and then a linux dump from an ALC880, ran the patch with the linux dump, and now sound is great! Also got parallels to run , if you edit its ".plist" and remove the lines that tell it to check for "GenuineIntel" it will install...It works but my cpu doesnt support "Virtualization" so its pretty slow running parallels. Does this include Leopard or do you have to download that also? Sorry for the newbie questions. chris
I have gotten a hold of this disk image and have been trying to install it for a while now. I first tried with my SATA drive and that did not work, I was unable to mount the drive in "disk utility" and therefore could not format it. I then switched over to an older ATA drive and was able to mount and format that drive. I was able to install the OS but then not able to start up. I was following the guide over at http://osx86.thefreesuite.com/leo_amd.php and tried to follow step 12, but the console kept saying "no such user or file"... i then went on to try steps 14 and 15, neither of which worked. anyone know how to make this work? for your info, i am running on a home made comp, specs are as follows: CPU: AMD A64 X2 6000 3.0 AM2 Mem: 2 gigs GSKILL MB: Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 Dvd: Lite On I am far from giving up, i just need some help as i have not gotten this working yet. thanks for all the help in advanced Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/83/#findComment-596266 Share on other sites

richard.xsi
you mean this one? ">> /usr/misc/script.sh Leopard (if you named the partition 'Leopard', if you gave it another name, replace 'Leopard' with your name)" if so, i can confirm the Zep's DVD doesn't require this step. i have similar setup like you ( x2 3600+ MCP61 board+SATA). 1.all i do before install is manually inject Medevil's latest SATA kext to the original DVD. (edit info plist with your own device id) 2.then burn with the modified ISO. install can process as normally even on a SATA HD. 3.after install, you need to recopy Medevil's kext (modified in Step 1) to IOATAFAMILY's plugin folder (you need delete the original Nforce kext first). step 3 can be finished either in single user (boot flag -s, after booting, mouse -uw / ) mode or DVD's terminal, i recommend the former. tomtom34
did you try to add the new Medevil kext to install DVD? TKS! I think the MEDEVIL KEXT is already installed, because it shows me some messages in the text mode aubout medevil..... anyways, I try to format my disk to HFS+ with a windows tool, because now I don't need the Mac OS Drive Tool! Fesob
I have a problem when booting. It takes about 30 secs extra and I don't know why. These are the debug lines:... kernel[0]: CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page: p=90[mdworker] clearing CS_VALID ... kextd[10]: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols ... kextd[10]: writing kernel link data to /var/run/mach.sym I have a nearly the same problem. Booting takes 1 minute but 30 seconds are for this IOKitWaitQuiet() This is my screenshot: Any idea?! P.S.: When i install i delete Geforce.kext and NDAVRES.kext. Is there any problem having CI/QE enabled with Nvidia graphics card without those two kext? I'm about to get a Asus EN7300TC512/TD/128M (7300LE) for 30€. chris
thanks for your help! I have gotten it up and running, though my lan and audoi do not work. I have found that my onboard lan is limiting and will be getting a Realtek 8139 which is supposed to work right away, i am also going to wait for Zephyroth Leopard 10.5.1 AMD v.2 as it should support my audio and the SATA from the burn. i hope it comes out soon. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the ideas.
