I'm facing some problems in the installation process... Actually, I can't even reach the Installation process! When I boot with the DVD, I get to the Darwin screen (that black screen with grey letters) and press any key to start the whole thing. But 10 seconds later it gets back to the same Darwin's start screen (the one that says: press any key to start or F8...). I tried to start it in as many different ways as I was able to (pressed F8 then pressed -v, pressed F8 then pressed ENTER...) but everytime it started to read the .../com.apple... (I'm sorry, I don't remember the whole name of the file) and then went back to the first screen.

I know the problem isn't related to the DVD, because the MD5Sum of the .iso file is just the same you have, and I've burned 3 DVDs!

The PC i'm using is a HP Pavilion dv2115wm (dv2000 series) Notebook:

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz (codename Trinidad

2GB RAM DDR2

120GB HD

n-Vidia GeForce 6115 (nForce 410/430 MCP)

running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bits

I really need to have Leopard in my PC. I'm full of Windows, can't endure it at all! Please, help me!

Thanks.

just wondering if anyone kno if it will work with my system amd athlon 64 x2 dual-core 3800+ socket am2 (supports sse2,3 etc)mother board: asus m2n-e if you need details tell megraphics : nvidia 8500gtmem : G Skill 1g x2 DDR2 800 SDRAM(PC2 6400) 2 300gig seagate hddslinksys wireless g SBsamsuns 22" wide
A friend of mine got your same Mobo and it worked fine...I do not see why it could not work, but it worth to try! :D

Did you try with -x flag?

this might sound crazy but I did a playing around i got the installation process to start (took a bunch of tries) started it up, and once I clicked INSTALL and after calculating the time it came out to 9 HOURS and 4 MIN!!!!![/i]! So I let go!!! and BOY it did take the WHOLE 9 hours(this was bout 30min ago it finished) So it says RESTART INSTALLATION COMPLETE (after9hrs) reboots and I quickly pull out the DVD before it posts and nothing??? I GET LOAD SYSTEM DISK AND REBOOT, so I put the DVD back in. Luckily the install GUI comes up again I check the System Profiler and the IDE drive looked was being read and said MBR so I continued the install process. Now its said It needed 115mb for install (Leopard luckily picks up from where you left off if u had an error) But I had no error, so I continued anyways. Took 7min to complete. Same thing came up again I booted directly to HD and IT SAID LOAD SYSTEM DISK again. I put the DVD in again and I went thru the needing 115mb to install, completed Sucessfully and rebooted same thing came up, it reads the DVD fine and it eaten up all 6gigs it needed to install, but IT WONT boot to HD, its recognized in the BIOS and during the Install process but when I boot directly its like it ISNT formatted???? I did HFS Journled with MBR optionAny ideas????

specs are in the SIG,but I think its the MOBO and Chippy, I havent seen to many GeForce Chipsets here with nforce Southbridge and I am using a competly dedicated IDE HD just for osx86 installations no other OS

if the instalation went fine why did you put the dvd back in? anyway make your mac partition bootable that probably the problem http://osx86.wikidot.com (know issues section)

Poe, which graphic card do you have and did you try to set your desired resolution in Boot.plist?

Terminal:

Add/Edit this Line:

// insert resolution

CTRL + O -> Save (WriteOut)

CTRL + X -> Quit

Reboot

Hi. I knew about it, and I did it, but without results. Anyway, I would be remove my osx from disk. I have still problems. I had to reinstall osx yesterday, because I unfortunate started updates and after that I couldn't start up my mac (everything was ok as it tried start graphical mode, then it stopped without errors, and stayed in a place), after reinstall, system froze when I tried set up my wireless, because they didn't see my wificard... I installed osx today again, but now I have problems wit keyboard.... I've have it always, but I put ApplePS2...kext into /Syste/../Extenstions and everything worked fine, but not today. Today I have error - when I copy ApplePS2Controller into Extensions, I got an error - The system extension "/System/../ApplePS2...." was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact.... blah blah blah... I used 2 different drivers. Old, which worked perfectly and different, which `i found on forum.

and resolution still doesn't work... I have still 1024x768 (ati xpress200m)... I'm too nervous for it, I think...

poe just downlaod katana and callisto(for x200m and x200 you wont have QE/CI ) if you need help configuring callisto pm me (katana+callisto 008 gives you 1240*1024 if you know how to configure it) and for the ps2 error check the wiki (my sig)

I've had a hell of a time with this release...see my system specs below. Nforce4 LAN has terrible freeze-ups like the ones discussed here. Marvell LAN works for a while and then any poking around with any kext at all (even ones not associated with it) will disable its connectability. It's still recognized by OSX, but will not accept an IP. To make matters worse, I can't for the life of me get my 8800GT 512mb to work, despite the success stories of others (who also have the same mobo as me). I've literally tried every method found on here and other hackintosh forums...packaged installers, NVinject versions, Natit versions, and so on. I even tried using kexts intended for Intel and patching them with Marvin's patcher. No good. The best I've managed to get is changeable resolutions, but I get terrible artifacts and no QE/CI support. I'm really hoping us AMD users can get a quick patch of the 10.5.2 update when it officially gets released, assuming that is the fix for my 8800 issues. The LAN issues, on the other hand, are a mystery that will hopefully be fixed when Rev. 2 of this DVD comes out.

If anyone has any information for me at all on any of these matters or can tell me how they got their Asus A8N-SLI board to behave, please let me know. I'll be happy to go over any process I went through if someone is curious enough to help me troubleshoot. Otherwise, I'm about ready to throw in the towel until some new developments arise in the community. In the meantime, my 8800gt will be sitting quietly in its box :(

BTW many thanks to Zephyroth despite these issues. I'm not ungrateful, just a little crazy from wrestling with Leopard for 5 days straight (not kidding). ;)

jWith pleasure I'll send to you small PM

Only sure way to know is to try it - but, it'll probably be difficult with Zephyroth 10.5.1... Your MB chipset isn't supported for SATA (and your internal drives are most probably SATA). If so, the installer won't see them. Zephyroth "version 2" should address some of these issues, but you'll have to wait until it's released.

I've done an install (see below) on an AMD 690G motherboard, but I did it using an external (USB) drive. None of my internal drives were recognized ( 2 SATA HD's and a SATA DVD )... Once I got into OSX, I added the "SB600_SATA_ATA" kexts and they all work properly now. (Your other option is to add those .kexts into a custom install DVD, but that's WAY beyond my ability...)

There are also many other parts you'll probably be concerned with: touchpad, keyboard, wireless, wired LAN adapter, card-reader... (in order for people to help you with those, you need to specify the exact hardware used (chip, chipset, maker).

The thing to be aware of is: Mac's are built on a fairly limited hardware set. PC's aren't... The Mac OS just isn't going to support much of the hardware we use in PC's. The guys around here are working hard to get as much support as possible, but some hardware may never work properly. Not trying to be a downer, just being realistic. The closer your computer hardware is to a Mac the better, otherwise the more "mainstream" the better.

I've tried as many ways I could... but it always goes back to the same start screen!

I'll show the pictures of what's happening:

I've tried it in many ways.

When I press ENTER, it comes to this screen

After a few moments it comes to this one

But then it comes back to the first screen! :(

thanx for the help!

10.5.1 isn't compatible with ALL PC hardware. Trying to install with certain SATA chipsets is also a known problem for Zephy's first release. Sounds like it should work better with "version 2" - but you'll have to wait a little longer for that. I couldn't get 10.5.1 to install on my Compaq laptop (and it has an IDE hard drive!) either... (well... there IS one way, but it involves an external USB HD and installing 10.5.1 using a different computer, THEN booting the laptop off the external HD... It's not for the faint-of-heart...)

Try this first:

>Reboot from the disc

>Open terminal

> Type "cp -Rf /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext /Volumes/"Name of your Hard Drive"/System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext"

>Save and close terminal

>Reboot

Thank you!

Now system starts and I can fight with other problems :)

My SATA and wifi works for me and I've got big battle with my ATI x1600 mobilty.

Any ideas how to reinstall it from External USB HDD to my HDD? (Remember that in DVD installer I can't see my Sata drive)

Thank you!

You should be able to clone, write a disk image, or simply copy EVERYthing, from your external HD to an internal partition. If you can make that internal partition bootable, you'd be all set. You're not going to loose the ablitly to boot off the external drive so you really have no worries - nothing to loose...

ook, I did some things and my keyboard works again (copy ApplePS2Controller.kext by 'drag'n'drop', and from console I added chown -R root:wheel ApplePS2... in /System/Library/Extensions directory) :) so, now I have to do something with my ati.

Thanks for the answer. At least I know I'm not the only one in this situation and that there's a way to do it.

Oh, a congratulations to Zeph... What you're doing is just a great job!

hi everybody

is there a way to add appleps2controller.kext to zeph's dvd?

i read all the pages but there is only one tutorial about this

i want to learn that if there is an easy way to do.

I do not know if 5 command lines is too much work for you, but all is almost like a shot in the floor lol. If it is,do not do it put your disc and try this with only one line lol :D
