beothuuk
Well, the original forcedth kext did not work for me. Use the Marvell Yukon from MikeInNs: - Place the kext file on your desktop - Start "Terminal" and type the following commands: - "sudo -s" - Type you password. - "cp -R ~/desktop/nForceEthernetController.kext /system/library/extensions/" - "chmod -R 755 /system/library/extensions/nForceEthernetController.kext - "chown -R root:wheel /system/library/extensions/nForceEthernetController.kext" - "rm -f /system/library/extensions.*" - "diskutil repairpermissions /" - "exit" - Close "Terminal" - Shutdown the computer and take the power cord off (IMPORTANT!) - Wait 30 secs. and turn it back on. Delete the forcedeth.kext after... Try this and let me know... WOW..... Xxp/TuX!!!! Xxp/TuX, you are a genius in disguise! Here I am, on my beautiful LEOPARD OS, connected FLAWLESSLY to the internet. My computer is COMPLETE and I assure you, she is VERY SATISFIED! I did exactly what you outlined above, restarted, and... at first disappointed because it didn't work, ... but then...: - deleted forcedeth and forcedethck kexts - plugged ethernet wire into LOWER SOCKET (was plugged into UPPER SOCKET) - immediate recognition and connection to ethernet network in DIAGNOSTICS THANK YOU! I believe we have found a solution! I hope we meet someday! THANK YOU! - Beothuuk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/76/#findComment-585260 Share on other sites

paperless
Im gonna try it on my machine: AMD 3500+ (s939) ABIT FATAL1TY AN8 (nForce 4 Ultra) 1 GB RAM NVIDIA GEFORCE 6800GT 15 GB Partition on an ATA HDD Which problems do you think i could ahve beforehand? Im googling for the ps2 kext (and also how to include it in the ISO :/) because i have had problems before with a JAS release. Wish me luck and i promise im not gonna quit until i get this sob working. EDIT: I saw a zephyrot forum saying the rev. 2 was already sent to the beta testers.. i guess ill wait for iit instead of going trough the headaches of fixing by hand what has been fixed in rev. 2. EDIT2: NVM, i cant wait i prefer to just go trough the headache . I've done the boot loader and select the ATA disc and it just stays on a blinking cursor. The other thing is that I thought it might have beeen a dodgy install so i stuck in the disc again to re-install it and now it's hanging on the legendary "still waiting for root device". Any suggestions on how to get this disc overcome this would be great. Thanks in advance.
