I am downloading Mac_OS_X_10_5_Leopard_ToH_-RC2_SSE3_SSE2_Intel_Only because i can't find Mac os x 10.5 Leopard ToH

so, my question is, if i have this one with intel only, can i patch it with amdppf and will be able to use it on my AMD system?

i'm going to look more on different methods of installing it on amd..

If i get it working with EFI i will be able to download updates?

yes you can patch the dvd for AMD but you will need to do more patching after install before it will boot into leo

and no you can not install updates from apple with EFI with out patching them.

this is a screen shot of my desktop click on Leopard 10.5.1 PPF Patched ToH + EFI All Working in my sig

is this guide you followed? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73282

i'm going to use this guide....any suggestions?

I want to install it on my 20gb ata hdd.... because the other hdd is for files and windows (currently 10gb for windows -fat32 and 2 110gb ntfs partitions for work, music, movies, windows games, documents, etc.)

This Christmas i'm going to buy another harddisk so what should i get SATA or ATA?

If i can, maybe i will use only mac os, if i can get anything working right..

Can i use SPDIF out on Leopard?

This is my system:

AMD Athlon64 3200+ Venice overclocked @ 3400 mhz (working 10.4.8)

HDD 20 GB Western Digital - ATA (working 10.4.8)

HDD 250 GB Samsung - SATA (Not working 10.4.8)

Mobo: DFI Lanparty Ultra-D NForce4 Chipset (working nvidia Lan and firewire but marvell no luck)

Videocard: Leadtek Nvidia 7600GT (Fully working 10.4.8)

RAM: 2x512 Dual Channel Geil 433 mhz (i think Ultra or Value) - working 10.4.8

Soundcard: Realtek (Karajan - i think - forgot the model right now)

DVD-RW: LG

Keyboard and mouse - USB: LX710 (working with 10.4.8 but after a restart -by the way it never restarts cause i have to manually reset the pc- i have to replug it to be detected)

Concerning my PS/2 problem, do you think there is a way to copy the appropriate kext from the DVD to the Extensions folder using the Terminal from the DVD setup since I don't have an USB keyboard or Tiger installed?

i also got the geforce 6150 working with nvinject auto install package found here:

http://www.macdotnub.info/downloads.php

core image working - quartz extreme unsupported

Glad you got it working. I still can't get mine to work:

;) What am I doing wrong?

Some good news:

1 - Installation of the bootloader is now fixed , it correctly installs and install partition is made active ;)

2 - Some cpuids were not applied and ... I fixed this too.

3 - Some kexts (GeForce*, NVDA*) were still presents after installation, this is fixed.

4 - Now the kernel is SSE2/SSE3

5 - Support for GeForce 5/6/7 and ATI cards added

6 - Support for Wireless devices (need to know which kexts you want me to add)

I still needs to fix crashes at the installation (ifcstart, and scripts of iPodSupport)

That's sounds good ... no ?

Whahoo :D , great work zephyroth.

What kext are you using for the Nvidia 7XXX series?

BTW about the forcedeth problem.. i have a Nforce 4 LAN ( i'm guessing the same one as you have ) and the problem did get solved with the cpus=1 boot option.. however it allso seems to work with the forcedeth-d.kext. the problem is that i'v added all of the forcedeth* kext and now no longer sure which one is working :)

unfortunatly still no progress on my build in audio :D

Thanks fellas, I am going to pay someone to get my stuff back like mitzaodx said

Now about the instillation, It installs successfully from a clean format but when i reboot it get to the point just after the mobo splash screen where I would pres a key to boot from cd or wait and have it boot from the hard drive it just stays there and says DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. the cd is out and when it is in it boots up into the instillation menu. I can't find any help on my isue, so if anyone has any idea what it is please help :). that accidental format of my windows was a huge kick in the nuts.

Hi People. Im a newbie in this stuff so im asking for a bit of help about installing Leopard on my PC.

I just have some questions:

1. Would this screw my pc

2. Can i install Leopard on the same HDD as i have XP Pro installed?

Excuse me for my bad english - im from Bulgaria.

Thanks in advance guys.

Skyper,

1) If you take care, this won't screw you PC. You have to learn a bit about Mac OS X system before trying to install.

2) I have XP Pro SP2 and MacOSX Leopard in the same hdd, but different partitions.

Good luck.

I've tried to install Mac Os X Jas but it didn't show up my Partitions so i couldn't do anything with it.

So as a start where's the torrent i need to download for AMD CPU'S cuz i couldn't find it.

Btw Thanks for your answers.

Any help will be appreciated.

AFAIK, Jas's distro is Tiger, that is, 10.4.x. Here we're discussing about Zephiroth's Leopard distro, that is, 10.5.x.

First of all, tell us your specs (hardware) as much detailed as you can.

is that enough info bout my system?

Can some one please help me

I really do not get this part "In terminal, browse to the i386 folder inside the installation dvd" HOW D: am i missing something :( can some one just please help

First, Lets Unmount the disk: In terminal type: diskutil umount diskXsx

- Ok, now lets put the file “boot1h” in the beginning of the partition: In terminal, browse to the i386 folder inside the installation dvd

dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsx bs=512 count=1

- Now, lets run the startup tool to embed the boot code: (change directory to your pendrive where startup tool is i.e. cd /Volumes/USBdisk/tools)

startupfiletool -v /dev/rdiskXsx boot

- And last, lets give the pope’s blessing to the partition:

bless -device /dev/diskXsx -setBoot –verbose

Now, mount and bless the mount:

· diskutil mount /diskXsx

· bless -mount /Volumes/YOUR_VOLUME_NAME -setBoot -verbose (Volume name is prob Leopard)

reboot, everthing should be fine now

I have two problems:

1) Restart and Shut down don't work. Sleep probably neither.

2) iCal Crashes :(, FIXED: Go to Applications and Select iCal. Right click - Get info - Run with Rosetta.

3) Boot time takes long because of this: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols.

Skyper,

There are several Compaq Presario 061 models but... ok, you have a SSE2 proc. Here we're talking about current Zephiroth's distro, and at the moment it is only for SSE3 (you should modify the ISO image file for replacing the kernel by a suitable one, which is a task that was already explained).

But if you have Jas's distro, it's a great one, and also suitable for your AMD proc. For problems about installing Tiger, please refer to Tiger install sub-forum.

I'm testing RT73USBWirelessDriver, it works simply and fast and no freezes at all.

I will try RT2571 for my hercules HWGUSB2.

Don't hesitate to tell me if you use a wifi pci or usb device and what is the driver that makes it work.

I will add the kexts according to your responses.

Great News!

I´d fixed lan crash with forcedeth-nchkd.kext.

Hi

Got the donwload link ?? can't find it

BTW, i've tried to rebuild forcedeth under Xcode 3, but this doesen't change anything, the freezes we are experiencing are still present. cpus=1 in the kernel flags do the trick however. The code must be updated.

I tried to boot without the -legacy option and it works great for me, the gui seem's even faster.

One last thing: if you reset you're computer because of a freeze or crash, beware ! Two time i've destroyed my hfs+ partition. When rebooting, got b-tree like errors, unable to repair with fsck or diskwarrior 4.

Can't wait for Ver2!

It won't allow me to erase my SATA partition in the disk utilities. Motherboard is ASUS M2N32-SLI deluxe. I tried Tubgirl tiger 10.4.10, same issue, I guess it is because of the Darwin installer.

Please fix this. I saw a few posts here with the same problem.

Thanks!

I am fully prepared and ready to be flamed for this:

I had 10.4.8 and 10.4.10 on my machine and worked great.

This version is coming up with the panic on the geforce drivers or whatever. I see over and over again it says to disable them, but I cant seem to figure out how to correctly, can someone help? I have read through this thread and havent seemed to be able to locate it correctly. Can someone please help me with this? Sorry for the newb question..but this should be the place to ask it right?
