My computer has been running nearly flawlessly for about 4.5 months now running osx86. I use it very extensively for things such as programming, graphics, video, and some audio, as well as the normal user stuff like web, email, and games. It has currently been running for almost 36 days since the last reboot if that gives an idea of stability. Once you work out the kinks, it's really easy to forget you aren't running on Apple hardware.

I've only been running OSx86 for 24 hours, but everything seems fine. I'm pretty limited to what I can do at the moment as I have no keyboard (waiting for the new apple one to arrive in the post!). Check my sig for mobo and sound. Haven't found ANY kinks yet. All hardware is recognised correctly and I have QE/CI

Yeah, I wouldn't rely on OS X for important work until its an officially supported system on PCs.

That is a funny thing to say. If you had tried it with really compatible hardware you wouldn't say so.

With my hackintosh it is rock solid.

Well, I use it for practically everything... Web-Design, Graphics Design, Multimedia Design, Web-Browsing, Instant Messaging, Watching DVDs, Videos, Listening to Music, University Work...

So yes, I would say it's for real use, just so long as you have enough knowledge of how to maintain the system.

My PC wasn't the best supported system ever (nForce 650 SLi based Motherboards and Mac don't like each other much, it especially dislikes 8.10.x kernels!), so I modified a few files here and there so they would work, and have even just created my own (10.4.10) Install DVD for it (which works flawlessly so far!) that includes everything I need... LAN drivers, audio drivers, and even drivers for my GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB! etc. Here's a screenshot of my desktop after i've installed a few apps for you...

I'm typing this from it now in fact! - As I only have a wireless network, I used my laptop to connect to the wireless, then plugged my laptop up to my PC using an Ethernet cable... and used Mac's internet connection sharing feature so I can use it on this!

Mac has all the nifty extra features other OS's miss out on, which is why I love it so much!
