  1. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

It's not that I don't like it, and truthfully i find it rather humorous, I just prefer a smooth vanilla flavor. Even if it were just the Apple logo jazzed up a bit, I'd still change it back.
  2. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

Yes. Replace the graphic called boot in the /Extra/Theme/Original directory with the one from v1 or v2. You might have to fiddle with it further in the theme.plist if stuff doesn't appear correctly. I had to change the default resolution. Yeah, looks like I'm gonna end up getting a PCI NIC. Hopefully this resolves itself in a future update. Either way, not too concerned.
  3. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

I'm not 100% certain it is 100% working. My machine won't find other machines or other iTunes libraries, but I can connect to shares manually with Command+K and smb://machine_address. Good enough for me. I'm also using Bonjour64 to throw it into promiscuous mode to no avail. Meh, good enough for me.
  4. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

Working spectacularly for me. Removed v2 of the installer and installed v3. Then ran combo update. The only things I did change from your default package was the default "boot" graphic from the "Obey" graphic to the default Apple and some misc theme.plist tinkering. I added sleepenabler.kext and the RealtekR1000.kext for 10.6.2 from your webpage as well. Noticing a bit of chugging on scaling graphics and animations but everything else works at full framerates. I've had this problem since day one. I believe it to be an Apple issue. Thanks for your effort on this!
  5. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

Aye. My machine was also sluggish after updating. It seems to be better now, but... It's still really laggy with animations, etc. I have no benchmark numbers to backup my claim though.
  6. The Canadian Dollar

LOL.. But we have the option of bags or jugs.. So there *edit* REDUNDANT!
  7. I just wanna get some clarification before I give this a shot.... This is my plan / backup plan. First: Im going to install the ToH DVD and get it running. Then do the EFI hack with directions from readme. Im going to leave the install as it is till the 10.5.1 patches come out from Apple and update to stock kernel/kexts from there. Is that what ya'll are doing? If that doesnt work for me... Im going to hook my sata drive up to my iMac via USB enclosure and install the bone stock image to the HDD. Im going to then apply the EFI patch and prey it works on my Hacintosh... Anyone tried a method like this?
  8. G4 digital audio harddrive upgrades

FWIW, I had a 120GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache Western Digital HDD in my B&W before I put it away in the closet.
  9. IBM Thinkpad and OS X

http://forum.thinkpads.com/ Not trying to spam, but ttheres guides there.
  10. I hear you loud and clear on the terrible exchange. It's not as bad for me here in Canada, but if you see the other post I made here its fairly obvious that Apple is not aggressive at all with their exchange differences. Also, something to ponder, "everything" is shipped from China it seems. So, it imported into the USA as well. Technically shouldn't this level out the playing field a little bit?
  11. Relationships

No relationships here.. Being single is totally my style. That's not to say I don't have my friends with benifits. Although, I do have a pretty bad story about a relationship of mine ending terribly.. I'll post about it later.
  12. QE/CI Not Supported?

When I get home and have access to my desktop machine, Ill doctor up some kexts for you to try... I abandoned my x1600 prematurely and found some things to test after the fact. If you would like to try them, send me a pm.
  13. UK vs US Pricing

I do notice that I did do this on a day where the USD was absolutely terrible, and I did not do this intentionally.... However, I can even go back a year and do the pricing on old products.. Say a study circa 2005? Maybe a nice PowerBook G4? Ill get on that this afternoon using stats from A: My local Apple dealer (macoutpost.com) B: everymac.com. Both are very reputable. Ive looked into this at length over the years, and my last iBook and DA PowerMac came from the USA because of this exact thing.
  14. UK vs US Pricing

IIRC, you are allowed up to $200 (I think) worth of goods per person. Anything after that is subject to duty. I look at it like this, in Michigan sales tax is 6% and in ontario as stated earlier its 14%. Lets do a study, shall we? The item under the microscope is the 15" MBP. USD Price: 1999.00 CAD Price: 2199.00 So, lets break it down for the US price. 1999 x 1.06 + 30 (for gas)= $2148.94 USD And the Canadian price (no gas money will be included because I really dont have to go anywhere.) 2199 x 1.14 = $2506.86 CAD Next, I go to xe.com and convert the USD to CAD to make them on par. According to xe, $1USD is worth 1.00145CAD $2148.94 USD is worth $2151.82 CAD. The difference is $2.88. So, I can safely knock another $2.88 off the US price which brings it down to $2146.06 CAD. The difference? 2506.86 CAD - 2146.06 CAD = $359.08 CAD saved by driving one hour to Michigan to buy a MacBook Pro. That money would make for a HEALTHY RAM upgrade to the MBP. Or a really good night out. ... Draw your own conclusions
  15. Ive got the same issue on my T40. I dont use it, so I have no idea what to tell you. But I will look into it.
