I went from 8F1099 to 8F1111g (a?) - little performance change on this test.....still around 108 sec with my P4 530....but some problems cropped up.....camera raw under CS2 crashes on opening raw image...plus I have some text anomolies in the finder...no big deal. Photoship system info does now show G4 Alitivec support....but it must not accelerat radial blur

On an older Mac system, for reference . . .

208 seconds (3 minutes, 28 seconds) on a PowerMac G4 Digital Audio upgraded to 1.2GHz, 1.25GB RAM, 120GB 7200rpm Western Digital hard drive, Photoshop 7, Panther 10.3.9

Looks like I should try and struggle through a couple more laptopless months for an Intel notebook, huh? Count me as stunned at how well Photoshop seems to be doing in emulation. I traded my TiBook prematurely (October) preparing to get one of the current 15 inch laptops, but the screen drove me nuts.

  • 3 weeks later...

pentium 4 630 3 ghz (hyperthreading)

1 G Ram

XP pro 64 sec (From what i read here : like dual G5 2Ghz)

10.4.3 8f1111 105 sec (like dual G4 1Ghz)

+40% on Rosetta translation, it's heavy calculation task.

For this test ONLY :

Apple price is x2 compare to homemade PC (dual G5 vs P4 630)

Quad G5 is 5x price and 5x faster, more or less...

Apple OS X (8F1111)

Adobe Photoshop CS2

I timed it at 60,78 Seconds

Edit:

Adobe Photoshop 7.01

I timed it at 53,80 Seconds

Last time I checked with OSX86 10.4.1 on a 3.6 GHz Pentium 4 640, Rosseta had a huge penalty for Photoshop, and some PC numbers I see here with Rosseta are very "unbelievable". Are you guys sure you input "100" for the filter?
