t3mur
When the world turns upside down, and still the last thing you might think is, "will osx look somewhat like vista" and got to say! Even tho I hate microsoft, Apple copied the main theme! Transparent windows!? Grass wallpaper!? Oh boy! All the effort in arguing with my PC friends that vista copied OSX will turn back on me! But you know what they say, "what goes around, I don't even want to finish it!"
Soündless
yeah, they coppied vista. i dont really have a problem with that. as long as some operating system meets my needs i am happy. i am sure we will find a way to mod the gui to our own likings
idividebyzero
Dont worry, theyll just say Vista copied Leopard. I dont think Vista copied OS X and I dont think Leopard copied Vista, they are so extremely different. They both may have borrwoed some ideas but they are still apples and oranges in looks and function.

But you know what they say, "what goes around, I don't even want to finish it!" 1) There was already a grass wallpaper since years in Mac OS X. 2) Windows transparency is handled since years in Mac OS X. So just STFU, Apple didn't copy anything dude.
bonch
Mac OS X had transparent windows in 10.0. A translucent global menubar is hardly a mimic of Aero.

Atomsk
I personally don't have a problem with new interface. So what if they copied the look? I personally think it looks cleaner than vista ever could.

fragreaver
I really hope that the translucent menubar can be switched to the standart one. Because, in my opinion, it looks seriously ugly - like the menu bar in Ubuntu with XGL enabled
rollcage
Hey, did you hear that Leopard seems to not have ZFS? Sherry Haibara ZFS is there, just not bootable. Maybe that could change by the time October rolls around? I just wonder if it will work with Time Machine on an external drive to make more efficient backups. I think that would be the biggest use of it for me. I'd hardly call the menu bar copying; it might be a different story if they added translucent windows that had the same look as Aero. And I don't think Vista ships with a grass wallpaper. I don't think you can call one "similarity" copying.

But you know what they say, "what goes around, I don't even want to finish it!" Mac OS X has had transparent windows since the Public Beta in 2000. The Aqua theme and user interface was introduced at the January 2000 Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. via Wikipedia Also Apple has had some of the best nature wallpapers since pretty much forever. They just choose to put one of them as the default. ^ I can't believe this was seven years ago already! ^ Windows Aero is the graphical user interface for Windows Vista, an operating system released by Microsoft in November 2006. via Wikipedia. I don't believe Apple is "copying" Microsoft, as-well as vice versa, somewhat.
robhim
that screenshot makes me surprised that apple hasn't changed quite a few of their icons in that span of time.

Subfusc
I think Apple's UI is a lot better looking Vista's.

Because, in my opinion, it looks seriously ugly - like the menu bar in Ubuntu with XGL enabled My guess is that it will be somehow tweaked to look better, it's OK to make it translucent so you can see the Desktop Picture through it, but the way it looks now it's a bit odd. But if I know Apple well enough they WON'T be letting you turn it off like they don't let you turn off the shadows on the windows, but an utility could come out to make it so.
