hi~

I have Dell Latitude D630 with integrated BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet (vendorID:14e4, deviceID:1673). I've tryed all hacks for AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext and AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext (change Info.plist and HEX stuff) but it doesn't works. The 'biggest' achievement was then ifconfig properly show NIC MAC address - that's all - dmesg shows "failure initialization".

If there is anyone who made it work please give me some information how can I "switch it on". Any help will be appreciated

I know of hackintosh for just 3 days and everything is new for me.

I have installed kalyway 10.5.1 on my acer laptop and couldn't get sound, network working.

I've got a Broadcom ethernet card and hope it works.

Device ID: 169c

Vendor ID: 14e4

I've got no clue which kext to apply on my Broadcom card: AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext and AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext

What I should do to make the card detected by leopard? A detail guide would do great favor for me, thanks a bunch in advance for any who provide me the instructions.

Here's a scripti which automatize MAC adress setting.

Put it in /Library/StartupItems

Correct permissions

Feel free to modify it with your needed mac adress, or others commands.

I've put it on my laptop, and now my ethernet broadcom chip always work :)

Bye

Hello ovof,

somehow I miss the script. I presume, it is the same I have seen in the forum.

BTW it does not help if one has problem with all-zero mac address.

As it is in my case (BCM 5787M) :-((

I was able to get my broadcom card on my Dell d630 (deviceID:1673) to working (kind of) under the leopard vanilla kernel. It works for about 30 seconds then I get a kernel panic. It shows the correct MAC and is able to get an address from DHCP. Once you one a web page the 1st page loads and the clicking on another other link cause a kernel panic. Any ideas?

Thanks
