track09
Does anyone have info on how hard it will look to be for Leopard to get hacked onto PCs, and if so, does it look like it can be done? Soündless
it has already been done, it will be harder to do in the final release, don't ask anyone for the release now, they won't give it to you. Don't want that, I just wanna know if 10.5 may be the end to this whole project. A Nonny Moose
Most likely not. It's a chess game between Apple and the hackers. Apple releases, hackers hack, Apple updates, hackers hack again. It's a never ending cycle. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47177-likelyhood-of-leopard-on-pc/#findComment-337756 Share on other sites
Mebster
it has already been done I wasn't aware a version of 10.5 had already been hacked for the PC. I thought it was a matter of wait for the final release and then we'll try. errandwolfe
Guys (and Girls) try to understand this.... Those who do most of the kernel work and the other guru's they work with have been able to get the current 10.5 beta's running on x86 hardware. The reason you don't hear about it and have not seen such releases on the torrents is because it IS a chess game. If Apple finds out how 10.5 was hacked already, they will simply close the vulnerability. I would recommenced everyone sit back an patiently wait for 10.5 to actually be released before you worry about whether or not it will be able to run on standard x86 hardware. Vertigo50
If hackers can get Linux to run on wristwatches, they can get Leopard to run on a PC. It may take some time, but remember that they learn more from each version. They're getting better and better at hacking OS X every time. I have faith. Vipersfate
I agree! Sit back and enjoy OSx86 for now, Leopard will be hacked when they get done with it. No later, no sooner. Good point. I will continue to remain patient. But where did you guys find out that it had been done? I don't remember seeing any posts here... but then again I've been on less often.
