  1. Been having a bit of trouble. I tried many different ways to get this board to work with this graphics card, with 10.6 Retail. Nvinstaller, NVinject, a few other options as well. I can't get QE/CI to work properly. Plus, SATA speeds seem to be extremely slow. Has anyone done a walkthrough on this motherboard for SL, and a working fix for the 8400GS PCI (NOT PCIEXPRESS) graphics card? I've searched, but this forums "search" feature, just isn't what is should be.
  2. GUIDE: ASUS EAH4650 (ATI 4650 GPU) with QE/CI

How do you append the flag to the boot file?
  3. Any ideas for 4650?

Searched for about an hour. Anyone have an idea if the ATi 4650 works with 10.6? Can't find any data if it does or not. Thanks.
  4. Toshiba Satellite A100-ST1401

I know that ATi was bought out by AMD, I just was assuming that he/she was thinking it had an AMD processor in it, as when this laptop was made, AMD had not yet acquired ATi
  5. Toshiba Satellite A100-ST1401

I agree, that at some point it's not even worth it. It's odd because you mention ATI/AMD chipsets, but this is a celeron m Processor. Maybe the case is mislabeled? I thought that SATA was out of the question, and I figured audio would be as well. Thanks alot for the information.
  6. After extensive searching, I only found one post on a laptop that is similar to the one that I mentioned. This laptop has the parts as follows: Motherboard: ATi SB450 Processor : Intel Celeron 1.6 (Looks like a dothan) and you all should know the video and chipsets of this board (the ATi board) I haven't found any related information on the wiki or anywhere else. Is there a specific version of OSx86 that will work with this laptop with minimal editing? Thanks!
  7. Biostar 945P A7

Ok, so far, I got the install done, and it went fast. On reboot, the computer doesn't boot to any device. None at all. Press F9, it does nothing, press Delete, and it won't go into the BIOS..kinda lost on this one. Probably something to do with this drive, is it nearing the end of it's life. Any thoughts? EDIT: Turns out the HDD was bad, unfortunately, but now, with 2 different DVDs (JaS 10.4.8 and uphuck's 10.4.9) I'm getting a the grey screen of death. You know the one, the "You need to restart your computer" CPU: Intel Pentium D 940 3.2Ghz MB: Biostar i945P A7 v1 RAM: OCZ Gold Edition DDR2 667 2 x 1GB HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 160GB SATAII HDD DVDRW: SONY DVDRW DL IDE Grr...I know the JaS DVD works, I used it on my AMD rig..I'm missing something..
  8. Biostar 945P A7

Excellent, thanks, Just figured I would double check.
  9. Just doing a bit of searching here and on the Wiki. It states that this board is compatible with OSx86, what I'm curious about is the Intel 82801 SATA support. Is SATA supported, or is there a patch that needs to be applied? The wiki doesn't give too much information about it. Thanks in advance
  10. help plz asap about good pentium cpu

The pentium D processors have a different setup and cores than the C2Ds. Syn has a point about the overclocking..they do well. Basically, I tell people like this. A Pentium 4 3.0Ghz is a pretty fast processor, but it's only one running Windows, Programs, Games, and all the other background junk. A Pentium D 3.0Ghz is a faster processor, with one core for running the background junk, while you have another core to do the foreground stuff. A Core 2 Duo is intel's latest model of the dual cores and the Core 2 Quad is the quad cores. A 1.83Ghz Core 2 Duo in my MacBook doesn't need the whole 3.0Ghz to get the job done because one full core of the processor can be dedicated to run that particular task, while the other is running in the background. I'm still testing out my Pentium D 940 I just got. I want to see how well these run.
  11. Mac Halo and XBox Halo Multiplayer

Yeah, Halo 2 is supposed to be released May 8th or 9th here in the states. It is going to be vista only, but there are people out there doing Vista Games emulation in XP. I have to find it again...
  12. how to fix iCal for original JAS 10.4.8 DVD

Awesome, I'm gonna have to try this on my Hack at home.
  13. Intel GMA950

Considering that the MacBook that I bought had the integrated GMA950 Graphics, I would hope it would work natively.
  14. Any real success with nforce 430 SATA?

This thread is still alive and kickin. Nforce 410/430 is not supported, but they are working for the fix. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=35985
  15. Just Can't get it to work

It sounds like it may not be recognizing the SATA drive at all. What motherboard or chipset does that dell have?
