Caslon
I have installed Vista Ultimate with all updates on a 20 inch core duo iMac and got a score of 4.4. I have a Dell XPS 410 decked out and it gets a 5.5. Not bad for the iMac. I will be testing my 2.33 24 incher with Vista this weekend I will post the scores then. I forgot to mention this was a clean install without bootcamp.

Colonel
I get a 3.3 with my 1.66 mini (2 gb ram). that totally pwns your system! My 1.83GHz MacBook with 2GB only getss a 3.1.
rollcage
PWNS? Larger score is better. 5.9 is max. notice the " " beside that remark? My 1.83GHz MacBook with 2GB only getss a 3.1. Check for any optional updates. I had a 3.1 or something when I first installed, but I got an update formy CPU. Then I had to update my score, and I ended up with a 3.3. ps: why is your ram score higher? shouldn't they be the same? Caslon
Most of your scores are good. It's your graphics that give you the low score. I did all the updates and 4.4 is the score. The logicboard specs are not the same hence the memory score. If you are wondering how I have Vista installed, I used the Mac starup disk, then I used disk utilities, repatitioned the drive from GUID to MBR, rebooted with the Vista Disc in the mac. I then used Vist to reformat with NTFS and installed.
erbic
I get a 4.5 on my MBP C2D 2.33GHz 2GB RAM. The hard drive is what drags it down; otherwise it'd be at least 4.9. I might put a bigger HDD in some day. When I actually get time to do it, that is... [OT]I need sleep. It's almost midnight. [/OT]
asap18
I have to say, this vista score thing has to be the dumbest thing ever made. Half the people that see it are going to be like "whats memory?". Itd be only good for computer savvy people and i think they can figure out if their system is good or not. Im guessing microsoft put it in there for bragging rights, like the Xbox 360's gamerscore. Worthless to causal users, but to hard core users, its pure street cred. lord_muad_dib
this "bench" is totally useless imho. if for istances i get a 5(it's the topmost point you can get afaik, you can't get furter right? sorry if i missunderstood) with todays specs, i will get a 5 even with tomorrows'. so it's just a toy for clueless users
robotskip
No, they put it there as part of the Games for Windows initiative so people who aren't very computer literate are able to choose games which will run on their system. Or, you could continue wearing the tin foil and pretend it's the reasons jas/joe think it is.

BlackShadowWolf
I agree with JaS and Joe on this one, it looks stupid. I honestly dont see any real use out of this to the casual user, specially if they just bought the damn machine. They wont go out and spend $300 on a new graphics card just because they got screwed the first time, let alone if they know how to install it. BTW Joe, can you make me a tin-foil hat. I want to join the cool crowd .
