Great, now can they get rid of these tabs:

These have been around since like Jaguar (10.2), when OS X used to look like this. I mean, the basic theme of Apple's website has not been updated in like four years.

PS: If my criticism of Apple's page offends anyone here, please send me a PM so I can personally apologize to you. :happymac:

No need to pm, you can just apologize to me in this thread :thumbsdown_anim:

Glad that they finally took the PC vs. Mac commercials off the homepage. No matter how many times I went to that page, I nearly jumped out of my chair when "Hi, I'm a Mac" came blasting out of my speakers (I'm usually listening to music when I'm on, with volume on high).

Maybe when the Leopard theme finally goes public we'll see a change on the site to match?

The Macintosh project started as a holdover from the Lisa project way back in 1981 and gathered steam, but the actual beginnings of what became the Macintosh started in the ancient technology days of 1979. There's a fantastic book about the Mac project from start to finish called "Revolution In The Valley: The Insanely Great Story of How The Mac Was Made" by Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original co-creators. Highly recommended reading if you're a Macfanatic...

Something else that leads me to believe it's going to be big is that they've moved the keynote address from Moscone South to Moscone West which is where WWDC is usually held. I assume it's to keep people out/have a bigger stage or whatever. I duno, but whatever it is, I'm pumped!

Anybody besides me going?

History of Apple, very good reading, its interesting because is just a collection of anecdotes:

Folklore of Apple

BTW, Apple made Apples, Apples IIs, and Lisas before making the Macintosh.

Macintosh was an internal codename and for a few weeks the proyect was called Bicycle, for "bicycle for the mind".

then it turned back to Macintosh and at the moment of launch nobody could find a better name for it :thumbsup_anim:
