Allan
Mac users can download the new software by opening up the System Settings app and navigating to the Software Update section. macOS Tahoe 26.4 returns the compact tab bar option to Safari for those who prefer the slimmed down look, along with a new Charge Limit feature for the Mac so you can set a maximum charge level from 80 to 100 percent. kgp
Fast and painless sequential OTA update (3.08 GB) with OC 1.0.7, Lilu.kext 1.7.2 and WhateverGreen.kext 1.7.0 from macOS 26.4 RC to macOS 26.4 (25E246). Audio, Wi-Fi, AWDL (Airdrop, Airplay, Screen Mirroring) and Handoff are working flawlessly with OCLP 3.0.0 Nightly (amfipassbeta variant). I suppose the same states for OCLP-Plus 3.1.8 and OCLP-Mod 3.1.7. I am still using Kernel Debug Kit 26.4 build 25E5233c from beta 4 though. macOS 26.4 (25E246) does not have its own KDK. Useful context information: a.) EFI-Folder distribution b.) Experimental Fork of OCLP 3.0.0 Nightly c.) OCLP-Mod d.) OCLP-Plus e.) X299 Guidelines Cheers, KGP 👍 Update: Also fast and painless sequential OTA update (5.51 GB) from macOS 26.3.1 to macOS 26.4 (25E246) on my two productive system disks. Now macOS 26.4 (25E246) has its own KDK and everything continues working flawlessly! With macOS 27 on the horizon and the Intel era slowly coming to an end, I really appreciate how stable and complete this setup has become — it feels like a fitting final stage for the Hackintosh era, with macOS 26.5–26.7 still ahead. Many thanks to all involved developers! Edited March 25 by kgp Update: Now macOS 26.4 (25E246) has its own KDK! 11 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362564-release-macos-tahoe-264-25e246/#findComment-2848404 Share on other sites

deeveedee
Very fast/easy incremental update to macOS Tahoe 26.4 Release (from 26.4 RC ). With this release, my souped-up HackMini 8,1 (with RX 560x) is better than ever. Many thanks to the Devs who maintain Open Core and kexts for running macOS Tahoe on our PCs. My hack utilizes Open Core 1.0.7 Release VoodooHDA.kext 3.1.2 (Audio) SIP csr-active-config = <01000000> Note that I temporarily disabled BluetoolFixup.kext for the incremental update and I disabled Beta updates so the Release would be available. Recommendation: The boot arguments amfi=0x80 and -ipc_control_port_options=0 are obsolete when using OCLP 3.0.0 Nightly (amfipassbeta variant), OCLP-Mod 3.1.7, or OCLP-Plus 3.1.8. You can use the boot argument -amfipassbeta instead. I would also recommend updating to OpenCore 1.0.7, Lilu.kext 1.7.2, and WhateverGreen.kext 1.7.0. These updates are unrelated to your kernel panic but may still be beneficial. XanthraX
I had this crash of configd too. Also, the same issue with unavailability of customizing icons of any file or folder. It was no problem in Tahoe 26.3.1. The update has being easy. The Hackintosh with Intel i5 in my signature. Opencore 1.07, lilu 1.7.1, WhateverGreen 1.7.1d7, OCLP plus 3.1.8. 5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362564-release-macos-tahoe-264-25e246/#findComment-2848416 Share on other sites

I have already updated everything and continues this crashing the time that restarts the first time to be able to update the system through the installation partition I really don’t know what causes your issue but I would practically exclude that it is OCLP related. With a similar setup my system is rock solid, now with AMFIPass.kext and -amfipassbeta and before over many month with "amfi=0x80". XanthraX
52 minutes ago, JorgeMax said: How did you solve this problem? After replacing amfi=0x80 and -ipc_control_port_options=0 with -amfipassbeta, I got no longer crashes of configd after reboot. But the issue about applying custom icons persists. It was not in 26.3.1 or older. I think is OS related issue. I did not get an answer if anyone else can replace the icons in 26.4 or not. Folder customization works. I mean replacing icons via Get info. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362564-release-macos-tahoe-264-25e246/#findComment-2848424 Share on other sites
kaoskinkae
A question that might be interesting for those of us who use or have inactive the BCM4360 Wi-Fi adapter and only use the BCM_20702B0 Bluetooth adapter. The question is: If we're never going to use Wi-Fi and only use a wired connection, would it be necessary to use the kexts to activate Wi-Fi plus AMFIPass.kext? Given the news that we'll never get an official version of OCPL, only a modified or nighttime version, can someone confirm this for me? 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362564-release-macos-tahoe-264-25e246/#findComment-2848425 Share on other sites

If you do not intend to use either Wi-Fi or AWDL with your BCM4360, you will be perfectly fine using its natively supported Bluetooth only. I hope this clarifies your question. I hope this clarifies your question. Thanks for the reply. Indeed, I don't plan to use it since I don't need it, but I also think it might be more stable by not loading unnecessary kexts into the system. The only thing, just for the sticklers, is that the Wi-Fi icon appears disabled instead of grayed out. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362564-release-macos-tahoe-264-25e246/#findComment-2848432 Share on other sites
