I forgot where i read about this for crying out loud. Anyway, the entire vt-d/Dmar story with IntelLucy.kext is driving me nuts. Even with "DisableIoMapper" and "DisableIoMapperMapping" enabled, as well as the modified dmar.aml, again I am partly without LAN or internet with IntelLucy.kext under both Tahoe and Sequoia, although the kext is properly installed. Each time, LAN and internet is not working, the driver successfully connects for a second and just disconnects again. To solve the issue, I have to disable and reenable vt-d in the BIOS. Subsequently,  IntelLucy.kext successfully connects to Lan and internet until I switch again between Tahoe and Sequoia.  I certainly did not do the Intel ME update so far for my ASUS X299 Sage 10G, when updating to the last 4701 BIOS version. The reason is that I simply do not have windows available on my Hackintosh. But I guess the intel ME update is for Windows Millennium Edition only.  Therefore -> rollback to SmallTreeIntel8259x.kext, which always provides LAN and internet in my case with both Tahoe and Sequoia. I slightly modified the plist of the kext to avoid random KPs with Tahoe. The original kext is running pretty well under Sequoia without any modification. For Tahoe, I just implemented a simple trick, to keep the kext stable, by adding     <key>MinKernel</key> <string>10.15.0</string>  to the info.plist. With this tiny modification, no KPs under Tahoe during use. However, I do still face random KPs with the modified SmallTreeIntel8259x.kext on wake from sleep under Tahoe. Anyway, in all cases that IntelLucy.kext worked for me under Tahoe, there was also Lan and internet loss on wake from sleep, just no KP.  I attach below the original and modified SmallTree kext version for testing purposes. This kext should be valid at least for all Intel X550 NICs with Ubuntu EEPROM modding and all Intel X550 SmallTree NICs.  SmallTreeIntel8259x-original.zip  SmallTreeIntel8259x-modified-for-Tahoe.zip Edited June 23, 2025 by KGP-iMacPro Trying to remove duplicated kext attachment 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361162-pre-release-macos-tahoe/page/44/#findComment-2834389 Share on other sites

HWSensor kexts are totally outdated although they did still a pretty well job on my system and are fully compatible with iStat Menus 6 and 7.  The guys from VirtualSMC did a very good job the last years and the package seems fully compatible with iStat Menus 6 and 7, thus the decision between  iStat Menus 6 or 7 is rather a matter of taste than a question of functionality... Zevgoli
Hey, Â I have a question about Tahoe and my current system. Â I have seen the list of compatible hardware but I am still confused. Â I'm running an Optiplex 9020 with i5-4590 cpu running as a iMacPro1,1. Â It's currently on Sequoia 15.5. Â Will I be able to get away with installing Tahoe with this SMBIOS? Â If not does changing the SMBIOS (if possible) to one that does support Tahoe work?
