didn't help. i had the exact same problem back then with the powercolor red devil 5700xt.. thought maybe changing the brand would do something.

it sure is weird. i mean, there aren't any gfx related settings in the bios besides the internal gfx on/off/auto that should relate to this at all, are there?

i've set up everything exactly like in the documentation.

I reckon it’s your install you know as there’s nothing else I can think of here that it could be.

the only way to find out is to attempt a fresh install to a spare drive and see what happens.

if you can use a Catalina install key to get to the first install page using my EFI then you know the EFI isn’t the problem here.

After talking to AudioGod it seems like nobody else has the problem of changing hardware / machine IDs after each update. So I'm wondering what I do wrong and maybe anybody has an idea.

The problem is that my machine IDs / hardware IDs change after replacing the EFI folder, even if I copy over my serialnumber and mainboard serial number to the config.plist before replacing it on my EFI partition.

After the update the iMac shows up as a new machine in my icloud account (it shows 2 imacs) and a lot of my software says it's not registered to this maschine.

It happens with basically all of my DAWs and plugins and all my iLok plugins.

If anybody has an idea how to avoid that, please let me know.

Cheers!

if you PM me your EFI with all your details intact I will check it over for you and correct it if necessary.

Oh I was good, but there is about four pages of issues people had on the Clover Dev forum.

Isn’t that always the case with clover? Or since I good few revisions should I say?

Really has been. It's pretty sad. Not sure what has the Clover Dev team so rattled? :hyper:

It can’t be anything to do with OpenCore and all the kexts and drivers made by them and not developed for clover anymore..... or could it?????? :hysterical:

It’s a bit dark really but it is what it is.

Hi,

So i've tried a whole lot of things.

1. i've tried what you suggested, but also when loading the install catalina partition from the clover bootloader, i get the black screen.

2. i've tried to use the opencore package from page 1, also black screen

3. i've tried a completely different EFI from someone who also uses the Z390 Pro Wifi and the same 5700XT, as i thought maybe the wifi has something else, also black screen

4. i've tried to remove whatevergreen completely, also black screen.

i've tried all the above with a cleared CMOS and freshly installed F12c and loaded unlock config.

As long as the 5700XT has the power cables plugged in, when i try to connect HDMI to the internal gfx connector, i get no signal at all. when i unplug the power from the 5700XT, the internal gfx seems to work.

its not rendering macOS, but i get as far as into clover and load the OS until it then loses the signal, whats probably to be expected.

Could it be, that i have to re-install MacOS first with the internal iGPU, wegnoegpu and injectintel, and then switch to add the 5700XT as additional GPU?

Hold on a second rewind here buddy.

what you doing with anything connected to the igpu?

19,1 with a gpu and igpu enabled means that the igpu is running in headless mode and nothing what so ever at any point in time should be connected to it HDMI or anything else wise,

it’s headless and works in conjunction with the gpu and the GPUs outputs. The HDMI output coming from the igpu is totally null and void.

Have you messed with the igpu framebuffers and taken it off headless mode?

what happens if you disable the igpu and change over to smbios iMacpro1,1 using clover or OpenCore?

yeah i have, i've tried the 1,1 as well. always same result..

could it be that there is a resolution issue? since the monitor i'm using is a Full HD monitor only. alltho it worked perfectly with the RX 590...

uh.. okay so i now was able to start it up by selecting [x] safe mode in the clover boot options.... thats progress :)

Should work with full hd no problem,

check the res in clover anyway and set it to your desired res but Oc it sets it automatically,

I wonder if you could be having problems with the wrong pallet being sent to the monitor. Hhhmmmmm

you could give this a try I guess but it’s a long shot..

P.s make sure you put the framebuffer back to how I have it set and not any other way or your be borking the system even more.

@canstoptherokk I know I’ve already said it before but one more time I shall repeat myself and say use my EFI vanilla and make no changes to it other then adding your details.

the problem is all on you or your hardware somewhere and nothing to do with the EFIs so any changes you make to it in your attempts to fix it will just make life harder for you.
that’s about the best advise I can give you as there’s to many users with a Navi gpu using the EFIs and none what so ever have problems.

i am using it exactly as you said. all i just tried was in the clover boot selector check the 'safe mode' thing to see if it will at least boot with that flag or not, and it did. it doesn't help me as i can't work in safe mode, but at least i know the gfx card is workin in macOS to some extend. i just wanted to confirm that in order to rule out stuff.

yes, it seems to work for everyone else, i'm not sure what else to try, at this point i spent 2 days on this, and have to get back to working with the machine, so, once again, i will return to the RX 590 and try again another day, maybe completely from scratch, going over everything we tried one more time.

I Do however, appreciate all this time you spent in helping me. thank you very much man!

I wasn't having a go so please don't think otherwise, :)

Did you try the force RGB fix via the link I sent you?

Don't worry I want it to work for you just as much as you do....lol

Hey guys!

First of all - thank you AudioGod for all the great work you are doing here!

I just tried to switch from Clover EFI to OpenCore v0.5.8, SMBios iMac19,1 [z390 PRO] but got strange results.

My system: 9900KS / Z390 PRO / Sapphire 5700 XT / Razer USB mouse / Razer USB Keyboard. I use FileVault.

Everything works great with the clover EFI.

I've downloaded OpenCore EFI -> added MLB / Serial / UUID -> replaced Clover folder with the new one.

My system has started without any glitches and I've successfully typed my password in the FileVault prebooter.

After the system fully booted up my keyboard decided to stop working at all.

I've tried to disconnect it from a USB port on the backside of the motherboard but it didn't help. The mouse worked as expected.
I tried every other USB port on the backside and only one is working.

Two USB ports on the front panel of my system's case are working as expected. I tried to connect the keyboard there and it worked.

Hi @AudioGod

Today still thinking about our exchange of words concerning the Fenvi T919 card i removed it from my hack and put back the ABWB BCM943602CS, it works if not better equal to the fenvi, but now i have a new problem, i lost sleeep and after repair permissions and clear nvram my hack boots windows... and not macOS, i tried to change the default boot but it didn't work, how can i solve this?

Use Airportbrmcfixup if your not already and also you may need to add this.

https://github.com/acidanthera/BrcmPatchRAM

Instructions are on the GitHub concerning what kexts to use.

I use the ABWB BCM94360CS2 but have the t919 and the ABWB BCM943602CS as well.

that's very strange, if its usb2 then only the usb2 hub or front ports plus 2 more work.

please take a look at the diagram to explain the layout.

PLEASE NOTE HSxx IS USB2 AND SSxx is USB3

MacOS has a 15 port limit and there no way around it via OpenCore yet like there is and I do in clover so I have to abide by the 15 port rule. (A USB port that I assign usb2 and usb3 too counts as 2 ports used of the 15 port limit)

i know :) it's all good.

i haven't tried the RGB fix yet, as i have to finish a song until tomorrow (yikes). but i'll look into it.

alltho i would wonder why it then works in safe mode but not in regular mode.
