@Allan I still can't post much, because InsanelyMac logs me off 5-10 seconds after I login.  The only way I'm able to post this is by typing it in a text editor and then copying and pasting it before my 5-10 seconds expires.

EDIT: Same behavior with Safari and Firefox browsers in both Sequoia and Tahoe.

@Allan and @dima2duo I figured out the cause of the instant log-off after I log into InsanelyMac.  My default mode of logging in is without "remembering me."  InsanelyMac no longer allows me to remained logged in when this box is unchecked at login.  If the "Remember me" box is checked at login, I no longer have the instant log-off problem.  This is new behavior on the InsanelyMac website.

Suggestion for the "Posts" column on the Forums Page:

If a single thread is getting a lot of post activity, it will dominate the "Posts" column (pushing all other post activity out of the "Posts" column).

Maybe the "Posts" column should be configured to display only the most recent post from a thread, so that a thread will only have a single post in the "Posts" column?  Just a thought.

I'm gonna make some changes, let's see what we can do.

It is already the case - In your example, we can only see that the two most recent comments are part of the same topic, not that one particular topic has the most activity.

Since the first day we switched to v4.x, it has been configured so that the most recent comments are displayed in first; it's just her misperception.

Sorry to disagree, but It's not uncommon to see the POSTS column with all posts from one thread.

EDIT: Note that I'm not reporting a bug - the website is behaving exactly as designed.  I'm just offering a suggested change.

@Allan, @dima2duo, I also cannot add zip-files to my posts...  :poster_oops:

@Allan, @dima2duo, the upload issue is not a Zip-file issue but rather a file size issue.

Already  @miliuco reported upload issues with files larger than 1 MB nearly one week ago.

The Zip-file I intended to upload before was of 58.8 MB in size.

I have now tried to upload a ZIP file of 570 KB and the upload worked flawlessly:

image.jpeg.2859cac94fbfa98bf2ff763e5acca14b.jpeg

Thus, I have to correct myself: the issue is not related to the ZIP format itself, but rather to files larger than 1 MB, even though my upload limit per post is configured to 100 MB.

Hope this somehow helps with bug fixing 👍

One question though: given the current number of actual forum bugs and regressions, would it perhaps make sense to temporarily fall back to the previous stable forum/server version until the major issues are resolved?

Cheers,

KGP

Although @fantomas has expressed disagreement, I also support @deeveedee's suggestion. For example, the NootedGreen.kext thread is currently very active, and when we check the notifications icon, we sometimes only see messages from this thread. I'm not sure what the best change would be, but any change that displays a single, most recent post from different threads would be ideal.

Anyway, thanks to all the mods and admins for your work.

@miliuco Thanks for the support.  The NootedGreen thread was exactly where my idea originated, but I've been guilty of "hogging" the POSTS thread, too.  Maybe you'll get more traction than I did.  Good luck! :)

@miliuco

I have no disagreement, I'm simply providing a precise explanation of a forum feature. The 4 most recent comments are displayed, regardless of the topic.

@deeveedee

While I'm lenient about most things, I dislike false victimhood. This will be my last reminder. So pls

I understood perfectly what you were saying and that the "normal" way a forum feature works didn't suit you.

@kgp

We apologize for the delay :(; we are still awaiting a response from the owner.

Now I am unable to add anything to my posts — not even images smaller than 1 MB.

In my last post I tried to upload an image with a size of only 107 KB → upload error again. :wallbash:

I really hope this issue can be resolved soon, because in its current state it is becoming extremely difficult to work normally on the forum for all of us. 🤕
