Here is the picture from System Preferences: Thx bongo! I know a lot a people wants to have a sound from this 862-vd card. And this is a good christmas gift! I saw on alsa page that 0862 cards 0268 are similar in codec, so I just modified his 268test kext for our alc862-vd card. And I am glad that works. wenecon
Pls Taruga. I have tested the ALC268test5 and now have good sound on headphones and cracking out of pcspeakers. Could this have something to do with the layoutID in AppleHDA.kext Info.plist? Thanks for now , keep up the good work. Problem is: No audio. I've been reading about the HDA solutions and all but there are so many versions! I tried AppleHDA thingy 1.20 with the Sigmatel9200 codec dump and nothing... it tells me its unsupported... can anyone help? My Cards info is : Vendor: 8384 Dev: 7690 Subsys 102801 BD&REV 1042 <--- this is kind of weird and maybe where the problem is at.... none of the simatel text files have that number for the revision... any thoughts, ideas? jjduro
Taruga, Thx for all your efforts. I waited long for mic, and line out on my alc861. Unfortunately your release of alc861 on 17/12 doesn' t work for me. Azalia works only for my built in speakers. But I have faith in you, that you will succeed in making it better in the near future. I'll keep checking the forum. Greetings Koen P.s. I installed it using the instructions on page 155 by JJduro. Tested on iATKOS v1.0i (r1) Hi Koen, If azalia works for you, then, probably, your sound codec, which is listed as ALC861, is, in fact, ALC880. You can check that on your codec dump. Have you ever tested Beta4someALC861 models from Taruga's page with the initial post? MacintizeD
Taruga, I am wondering- will you release another version of alc861 kext? or is the latest one final already? Edited December 26, 2007 by Taruga Even for ALC882 (the one I have) I don´t think it´s final :P From time to time, I look at the posts, see what people say about and try to fix stuff according to what I read. withrough
Thank a lot Taruga !!! Your new ad1986 installer works for mine. My notebook model is X60W183 of Samsung. It has a Intel HD AD1986A. For long time I didnt hear any sound from my notebook. But your new 'AD1986' installer made me hear sound through output of headphone. Unfortunately my volume bar didnt work through your installer and my internal speaker didnt work. For someone who have same codec, just intall new ad1986 installer. Then you need to check your "Audio Midi Setup". Furthermore you need to choose output of headphone. Good Luck !!! Anyway I appreciate Taruga again and I hope you make and release better installer of AD1986A that would make me control volume-bar and use my internal speaker. Happy New Year! Taruga! iNoob
Hello. I'm having some problems with AppleHDA. 1. AD1986A desktop: No sound with test installer(I knew it was going to happen) 2. ALC883 lappy: No sound from internal speaker, headphone/digital out ok. Computer crashes when rebooting for the 2nd time with patched AppleHDA. Using vanilla kernel+iATKOS 1.0i EFI Darwin bootloader+NTDLR(XP) w/ CHAIN0. EDIT: Sent Taruga mail with codec dump from AD1986A, tomorrow I send the ALC883 dump. Update: ALC883 dump SENT, hope this helps you. EDIT2: Hey, found a temporary fix for the lappy: touch the Extensions folder each time you startup. How can I automatize this process? No need to do that {censored}. When I updated my install it worked without having to do that. I also found the problem of the speaker: It was a wrong layout-id. Also, keep the good work going! You're doing great, Taruga! Help me with wireless to, plz: Wireless Only wireless left to have a fully working HacBook!
