  6. So I've been running Mavericks 10.9.1 via vanilla install on this build for a couple weeks now: Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB i7-4770K And for a while I never even needed boot flags to boot properly. Now I tried to overclock the CPU, and for a while OS X recognized this as well since HWMonitor was able to see both the increased Vcore and multiplier fine. I dual boot with Windows, so I also have to stress test the overclock for stability. I found that 4.4Ghz was extremely unstable, so I raised the VRIN and VRING to 1.9V and 1.155V respectively (~0.1V bump each), turned off all C-states and EIST. Now the computer can pass 12+ hours of prime95 blend. But the problem is with OS X. Whenever I boot with this configuration, I get a kernel panic before anything can load: "Unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI/"" or something of the like. Every time the source of the crash is com.driver.AppleACPIPlatform. I read that this might be a problem with DSDT, but right now I am running a DSDT-free installation so that can't be it. I tried booting with acpi=no/null/off/etc., -x, -f, etc. to no avail. What is even more interesting is that now OS X cannot even handle ANY overclock; it will only boot in optimized defaults. Whereas before OS X could handle sizable bumps in multiplier and Vcore (47x and 1.36V), even a 1x bump or 0.01V increase now causes a kernel panic with the same aforementioned error. I tried using the patched AppleACPIPlatform.kext by crunk, and that didn't help at all either. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

  8. Hi. I've spent all day trying to work out how to get the 10.9.2 installer to boot via Clover... I always end up with a panic: "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\"." I've tried various combinations of -v-x -f GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x2000, manually adding FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext to /EFI/clover/kexts/10.9, and pretty much anything I could find googling that line; no luck. Any ideas? These are the instructions I followed: http://www.skylineosx.com/installation/configuring-clover/ + http://www.skylineosx.com/installation/bios-configuration/. Previously I also tried https://rampagedev.wordpress.com/os-x-10-8-mountain-lion/ with the same result. I've also seen some reports that 10.9.0 would work but would I be able to upgrade back up to 10.9.4 without problems? ACPI Kernel panic

Hello, I'm trying to boot to Mavericks 10.9 installer, I'm using this tutorial: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/288795-guide-creating-os-x-usb-installer-using-a-windows-pc-only/ post #18. The kernel panic says: "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2422.1.72/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1541" Then it's the stacktrace.

    Brightness on HD 4000

Oh yeah, the ever-frustrating brightness, is it not? ._. So I tried a BUNCH of topics to solve my issue - here are the links to each: In Topic: [Guide] Backlight + Brightness for Intel 8086:0046 (1st gen HD) (GMA 5700MHD) In Topic: ACPI Backlight Driver In Topic: ACPIBrightness level Fix problem ...result? Zero. My PNLF device exists, and works, and changes brightness...without a kext. BUT. It stays incredibly dark. Only when my screen wakes, from sleep, it suddenly decides to work again...errrrm, yeah? >.> So, in the second link, I just recently posted my DSDT, though I realized I have a duplicate of the _DSM method...I might reupload my DSDT at some point and put a link into my signature. Whatever. Anybody who can give me a working solution would be a hero in my eyes. Im not too dumb to work with scripts and learned to understand my DSDT. But I am still new on that one. Regards, Ingwie
  11. Hi, I decided to install Hazard Snow Leopard and the install completed normally. After restart the boot hangs at the Apple logo. I'm a noob when it comes to Hackintosh so I'm not sure why this is happening but I think it has something to do with ACPI When I boot in verbose, the last few lines read. 12. Boot.plist: <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1200x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> <key>HDAEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>HDEFLayoutID</key> <string>01000000</string> <key>IGPEnabler</key> <string>No</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>kext-dev-mode=1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> Consigli?
  13. Greetings everyone I have extracted my DSDT and SSDTs from Clover with F4, then edited these files in order to apply the following renaming patches: - HECI -> IMEI - HDAS -> HDEF I’ve put the patched files on ACPI/patched, everything works as expected. Still a few questions remain: 1) The section DSDT patches on Clover apply patches on both DSDT + SSDTs or just DSDT? 2) If I add a new item on DSDT patches on Clover will it apply them on my already patched DSDT + SSDTs on ACPI/patched *OR* use the untouched DSDT + SSDTs from UEFI? 3) The SSDT made with Piker Alpha’s ssdtPRGen.sh has a table named CpuPm. This table is nowhere to be found on my DSDT + SSDTs (so I could merge it in), what am I missing here? 4) Which part of the DSDT or SSDTs take part in the restart of the system? By pressing Restart on macOS the system does not restart properly, it sits idle in a monitor-off state. 5) My BCM94352HMB’s identifier is 0x43b114e4. I tried to input this ID on Clover’s Fake ID -> Wifi, it doesn’t seem to recognise the device at all. Again, am I missing something here? Please find attached all the relevant files for reference. If anyone will be willing to answer *ANY* of these questions, I would be grateful. EFI v2.zip

    ACPI Renames

Hi guys, I know by looking at ACPI tabled of many Mac computers and of many regular PCs that the names for devices change a lot. I am no expert, and thus I am posting here my ACPI files so you can help me rename devices to proper names, to match a MacbookPro 11,2 because I am sure the system will work even better when it reads the ACPI data that it expects, my devices will work better. Here they go: ORIGINAL ASUS X550LDV ACPI TABLES origin.zip Mac OS X compatible ASUS X550LDV ACPI TABLES (1st laptop in signature is at 99.9% functionality) patched.zip I would appreciate if there is any renames that you reccommend asides from GFX0 to IGPU and B0D3 to HDAU. Any suggestion is more than welcome. I wanna get this to be as vanilla as possible.
  15. I have an HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b0000es. I made brightness keys work but I can't make wifi button to work. Any ideas? It's handled via _Q15 acpi method.
  16. These are the Original iMac17,1 Firmware 0105_B20 ACPI Tables. They have been extracted from the firmware file provided in 10.12.4 update, so they are clean and unloaded. All tables are available in hex cut/new file/paste order so they are untouched and unloaded. I believe these files can serve to better study Skylake architecture implementation in Sierra. 10.12.4-10.12.6 : IM171_0105_B20-10.12.4.firmware update ACPI Tables.zip 10.13.0+ : IM171_0110_B00 10.13.0GM ACPI Tables.zip

  18. Good morning everyone! I upgraded directly from the appstore and everything installed with pretty much no trouble at all, but once the installation completed and I get to the point where I should be just booting to the drive where El Cap was just installed too but no matter what I try I get a kernel panic "unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".../IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1665" A quick google search shows that this is not an uncommon KP, but the most common causes are a bad DSDT file which I'm not using at all, and to uncheck one of the fixes in the config.plist file for clover. I've tried both the config.plist I was using on Yosemite which did have a few fixes selected, as well as a new config.plist I used when booting to the El Cap installer which removed all of them. I did look in S/L/E and I do not have a kext for "IOPlatformExpert" so I'm not sure if maybe that's all I'm missing or not.. Running a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 with most recent UEFI bios (clover was installed UEFI) along with a PNY NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 1 GB video card. Thanks to anyone who can help!

    ACPI Kernel Panic

Hello to the community, I had to open a thread due to an error that is making me becoming crazy. I tried to install OS X on my AMD Toshiba Satellite L650D-101 (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion) with every boot flag I know. The installation doesn't start, It freezes on a Kernel Panic "Unable to find driver for this platform "ACPI"... etcetera. I tried iAtkos L2, iAntares 10.6.3, Retail 10.6, Retail 10.8.2, but each of these distros gives me that Kernel Panic. My Toshiba's processor is an AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320 2,10GHz. It has 4GB of Ram and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145. All the post-installation comes after, the "only" problem for now is to get in the installation menu. Thanks in advance
  22. The message is appearing every 30 secs on the console and stops if I unplug the power adapter. I believe this has something to do with AppleACPIACAdapter which is not appearing in ioreg I tried to apply the rehabman patch but nothing changes, and ioreg doesn't show AppleACPIACAdapter. I am running Yosemite 10.10.2 Any clue? 26/02/15 11:24:26,058 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:24:26,805 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:24:54,936 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:25:09,603 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:25:09,722 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:25:39,751 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:26:09,787 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:26:39,827 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:27:09,859 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:27:39,889 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0) 26/02/15 11:28:09,925 powerd[26]: Failed to read current rating(0xe00002f0)
