Ok, I got Yosemite 10.10 GM Candidate 1 working on my Vostro 1700 (Inspiron 1720).  I have everything working except iCloud, iMessage, and Facetime.  In System Preferences, my serial shows as unavailable.  I am using Chameleon r2401 and I have FileNVRAM and I still can't log into iCloud or anything.  Does someone have a fix for this other than installing Clover?  I don't like Clover.

Nope.  In my iMessageDebug output file it shows the following:

I'm using the same SMBios from my working Mavericks install.  Doing the terminal commands does nothing it seems.

I'm in the same boat. I have PB4 running on chameleon r2401 and selected the FileNVRAM option during its install. I don't even think the file is actually working as there is no nvram.*.plist being created during boottime. iMessage Debug and "nvram -x -p" dumps also confirm this behaviour. Adding the nvram plist that i still have from my mavericks install doesn't do anything either. Injecting the rom and mlb values into nvram works (as in they can be found in the nvram dumps and imessage debug's output, imessage still doesn't work) but once you reboot those values are gone again. I also tried version 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 as well as the version of filenvram.dylib that is included in the chameleon r2401 package. Nothing works

I asked in the Chameleon thread but haven't gotten an answer there yet.

Edit: just installed PB5 without any issues. iMessage however still doesn't work.

Andy's chameleon 2401 disables loading of modules hence the failed output. Use Ermac's build instead.

I'm using the bootloader that i downloaded from this link:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/59-chameleon-22-svn/

I'd like to think that is the ErmaC one right? That's the one i'm having problems with at least.

FWIW, running the debug on my hackintosh is the easiest way to see if the MLB and ROM values are actually stored in nvRAM. The values that my hackintosh generated under Mavericks have been whitelisted. The problem at hand is not that we don't have values to put in there but that we can't store values in nvram and have them stay there. The issue at is FileNVRAM.dylib not being used by chameleon r2401.

Question, whitelisted on what?

Well maybe not the MLB and ROM values themselves but the serialnumber anyways (which is part of the MLB number iirc). I too had the issue a month or so ago where Apple put a block on my iMessage account because of a suspected not-real Mac. I had to call them, give them the serialnumber and they pulled the block. I gave them the serialnumber that was generated for me years ago on Leopard... that serialnumber is not real. However, it does now work under Mavericks again.

But i digress, we're having the issue with Yosemite PB5 (haven't installed 6 yet) with ErmaC's Chameleon r2401.

@Luxinhaus, if you have any idea how Andy disabled it, i'd love to go searching if that is maybe the case in ErmaC's r2401 as well.

I installed up to GM Candidate 3.  I'm not sure about my Serial Number being whitelisted, mine just doesn't show up in About this Mac.  It just says unavailable.  No matter what I do, I can't get the value to show up as you can see above in my iMessage Debug.  I have Mavericks installed and everything works properly in there using a generated serial number.  What I am trying to figure out is how to get the Chameleon FileNVRAM to work properly so that I can get Yosemite working.  I'm assuming we have to wait for an update to Chameleon or FileNVRAM that will work properly.

Everything works in Yosemite except I have issues waking from sleep and shutting down doesn't kill soft power.  I probably missed something in getting sleep to function right, but the soft power never worked and I'm ok with that.  I really don't even need the broken three functions working since I don't use the Mac OS for anything except learning and iTunes for my iPod Touch.  I just like to know everything works because I want it to.

I just realized that the version of Chameleon i'm running is loading modules as i have i have a diylib in there that fixes my orange diskdrives. So the problem isn't solely Chameleon, but either a problem in FileNVRAM or a combination of the two.

File nvram is not compatible with 10.10. It needs an update, without it, no nvram. No nvram, no imessage.

unless filenvram is fixed soon, it's looking more and more like chameleon/chimera/etc are dead for imessage users and we'll need to investigate clover or other options that have working nvram in 10.10. i'm hoping in next day or two filenvram is sorted though cause I don't want to add extra complication to migration right now.

Exactly correct ..... NVRAM is non functional

I upgraded from GM3(14A388b)  to the release 14A389 using usb flash drive... (using Chameleon 2401)... I lost iCloud and FaceTime (iMessage never works in both version).

I fix it by using DPCI manager and check that the network adaptor is en3... following the guide in

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298027-guide-aio-guides-for-hackintosh/?do=findComment&comment=2020598

I restore the en0.... iCloud and FaceTime work again.

However, since I deleted the 802.11n adaptor, I cannot get it back again.... (it is a realtek 802.11n usb adaptor)

tried:-

A. reinstall the wireless installation software.

B. manually reinstall the driver using Kext Utilities

kextstat shows that the kexts are not loaded.

using kextload.... it said

/System/Library/Extensions/RTL8192CU7.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) dependency resolution failure; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

checking system log - error due to

no dependency found for com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily.

in the system report under USB,, the adaptor is there under one of the USB HUB.

Any help is appreciated.
