  1. I have unfortunately formatted both my main and backup OS X drives for my laptop and no longer have any of the files stored locally on my computer. If anyone has the original OS X USB Chameleon Yosemite installer, please upload it here. Thanks in advance if you do. Everything else looks like it still can be downloaded, if not, please hit up Google and see what you can find. The following link may work for anyone trying to install Yosemite on their computer. Please make sure to read the page before you download and follow the instructions on the page because it requires you to rename some stuff. http://www.osx86.net/files/file/4075-boot-usb-os-x-yosemite-chameleonpkg/
  2. Hey Randy, I'm sorry I didn't catch your message earlier as I don't log in to the website that much. If I'm reading you correctly, you already have a patched DSDT, if not, browse all the pages of the installer guide and you could possibly find one for your processor that's already patched. Please try to follow my install guide but some of the programs/files I used might not be available and you may need to improvise. To Everyone - My Vostro 1700 no longer has OS X installed on it, I managed to format both my main hard drive and my backup hard drive and I just decided that I didn't need OS X on it any more. The files I had should mostly be available in either of my installer guides, if not, I do not have them any more. I can try to help you with your installs, but it has been a while since I've done any work on my old laptop.
  3. Hello Griftopia, sorry I haven't been around in a while. I had help with my DSDT edits from Fusion71au. He gave me a link to a tutorial in one of our conversations, but I haven't been that successful getting a DSDT to work. It's good to see you made progress with yours. To answer your second question, I have been doing hackintoshing on my laptop for a long time, no matter what version of OS X, kexts, or edits anyone has done, there has been no fix for the soft power issue with NVidia graphics. Many of us have not been worried about it because most of us just use sleep mode and do reboots instead of shutting down. If you manage to find something that works, please by all means post it to this thread and we can include it in my original write-up as an edit. It's always good to get even more functionality out of this laptop running OS X.
  4. Glad you figured it out, strange that you needed it though....
  5. I didn't know anyone was having issues with the app store. Keep in mind that installing Yosemite has a different process. I have a write-up for it on another thread. Keep the files I uploaded because most of them are used for the install.
  6. @njg9837 - You don't have to apologize, I appreciate you posting the specs. If you haven't already, you can use the DSDT i recently uploaded for a T7500. Attached is the files I list in my first post. If you have any issues, please let me know. A little hint, follow my instructions EXACTLY. Any modifications will cause issues. Keep in mind, your wifi will never work unless you change out the intel wireless card. Inspiron1720Mavericks.zip
  7. I'll find my zip package tomorrow night and post them here. Please everyone, post your specs, I know most of everyone's is the same, but it helps to know what we're working with.
  8. Here's a link to the file on 4Shared http://www.4shared.com/zip/J75OTAWyce/OSX_Yosemite_Chameleon.html It was too big for me to upload on here directly. Let me know if you have any issues downloading.
  9. Yes you can install and run from a USB drive, I used a 16gb Sandisk one time.
  10. It's probably because you didn't have the correct installer, I'll see if I can dig up the copy I downloaded and upload it on here for you. The version of OS X might not matter, but I used the original 10.10, I've had issues using subsequent versions before, sometimes not, it's hit and miss. Working in virtualbox isn't an issue, if your OS X runs, you can use it. If you want, you can try Clover, but I have no experience with it.
  11. I haven't tried any USB adapters since my computer's wifi works. From what I can tell, the best ones are the ones with Ralink chipsets.
  12. @mirko - I do believe we need to use the new fakesmc, I haven't really played with Yosemite much to do any tweaking, I just did what I could to get it installed. If you find any tweaks that work, please let me know and I will throw them in my guide. @H4WKE - I'm glad you got your system up and running. Where did you get the DSDT? As you can see in the post above yours, mirko has re-uploaded the one he used for his T7500, if you want you can try that out to see if it works better for your system. Also, your Intel 3945ABG wifi card won't work, so you're going to have to do some research and find a card that will work. Also, the audio should be working, but I notice in your system specs that you list Intel HDA Azalia as your audio, the Inspiron 1720 and Vostro 1700 use Sigmatel Stac9205 audio, I'm not sure why yours would be different.
  13. Moderators are working on getting the files fixed, but there is no ETA, so just have patience if you aren't able to get it working yet.
  14. You need a DSDT for your T7500 processor that has those specific mods. I've tried making them before, but it seems like they never work, someone else did mine for me. There was a working DSDT uploaded for a T7500 on my Mavericks thread, but it seems that every file that has been uploaded are no longer on InsanelyMac's server since they went down the other day. My DSDT probably won't work, but you're welcome to try it (attached). I am contacting the Moderators to see if they can fix the links in the other thread. xangel_Inspiron1720DSDT_patched3.zip
