Hey guys, thanks for the instructions!  :)

It worked for the Lenovo IdeaPad y410p since it should have about the same internals as a y510p.

Note I'm running 10.9 Mavericks

These are the stuff that is not working for me as I haven't had the time to search for kexts yet. I'll update soon.
- OSX on safe boot.
- Resolution 1024 x 768

- Trackpad not working (I think I have synaptic trackpad).
- Bluetooth (I don't have bluetooth devices to test it. I like wired stuff =D)

- Sound. Nothing plays, bar not showing even with voodooHDA.

- Microphone. Didn't work previously.

- Wireless (I don't have a wired cable either. And seems like I need to change the card.)

- Shutdown doesn't shutdown fully. Stuck at black screen.

- Brightness at max. Not too irritating, but would like to find a fix.

- Sleep

Thanks useletters and styrian!
PS: I even did both computer quizzes just to post!

Update Working
- OSX no longer needs safe boot. removed -x.
- Resolution solved with org.chameleon.Boot.plist set to 1600x900x32.
- Trackpad working with VoodooPS2Controller.kext

- Bluetooth could pair with my MBA. Don't want to do anything else other than that :P.
- Sound bar appears magically out of nowhere. Plays music only with headphones but crackly.

- Microphone suddenly works after playing around with different kexts. Can't pinpoint the working file :(.
- Wireless solved. Bought an ASUS USB-N10 Nano and installed 10.8 driver on 10.9. Will replace card later on.

- Got shutdown kext. Only shutdown switches off the computer fully. Restart does not restart the computer sadly...

guys, sorry for my english. also i'm noob in os x systems. i had lenovo y510p with stable working 10.9.1. I used a guide of useletters  on 3rd page to configurate my laptop.

a few days ago i updated os x to 10.9.2. and now i'm not able to boot os x with any flags (-x -f -v etc.). i've updated some kexts replace mach_kernel but still not luck. os x stuck on Waiting for DSMOS. I google it and found that replacing of FakeSMC.kext must solve my problem. please upload correct FakeSMC kext file of your working os x 10.9.2.

Guys , I am following the Tutorial useletters posted , tomorrow I will be trying to install it , right now I am gathering the files and preparing the USB .Tomorrow I will be back bringing some news .

My questions are:

1-IS this thread dead or you guys are still looking for fixing the issues ?

2-How far did you guys go with mavericks ? Whats working and whats not ?

3- I read that the GPU is still a no go , is that true ?

4- If 3 is correct , the integrated GPU is really that bad ? I want to use that for Unity 3d .

Thanks in advance guys !

I am stuck here my friend. You said you used the vanilla installation guide .

And also said to replace the rehab kernel with the one in the USB right?

1-Did you follow the step 2.1.7 of the guide ? I mean, did you replace that mach_kernel like they are saying ? Or did you replace the rehab kernel right away ?

2-When I replace the USB kernel with the rehab one ? Before installation? After ? I have no idea how to do that and I am seating right in front of my PC looking like my father that has no idea what a computer is lol.

And also I am getting confused which guide should I follow ? The vanilla one ? What I should and what I shouldn't do from vanilla ? This is confusing !

i have stable working 10.9.2 on my y510p. The useletters's guide on 3rd page is works well. You need to replace mach_kernel 2 times: before installation on your myHack usb drive, and after installation on your os x partition.

as for me, i was not replace files, i patched it from terminal.

1. There are no reasons to discuss) the useletters's guide works well and y510p users have stable working os x on it) i had some problem after upgrade 10.9.1 to 10.9.2, but i solved it with clean reinstall to 10.9.2

2. These things are not working on my laptop: touchpad, wi-fi, sleep/restart options (only shutdown works), GT750M. I have working ethernet and integrated intel video card and it is enough for me) P.S. I not tested bluetooth, I have never use it)

3. It's true. Still no luck to use nvidia card.

4. Integrated CPU not bad, I think it's will be enough for Unity 3d P.S. it's IMHO, i'm not sure)

1- useletters said he followed the Vanilla install , that means he did not use myHack after the Post 3

And in useletters guide he shared a link to download rehabs kernel but theres no file to download  when I enter this rehab link , or I am doing something wrong ?

And how DO i patch the Rehab Patch before and after , I have been reading it for 4 days and can't get it done .

Could you assist me ?

Vanilla is a kernel, myHack is a tool for creating installation usb drive. There is no longer needed to attach mach_kernel files because everyone can patch it self.

Use myHack tool for creating bootable usb flash, after you need to use terminal to patch mach_kernel file on this usb (you can see patch command on Rehub post).

If you have difficulties with patching you can attach your original mach_kernel file from your usb here, then i will patch it and send you back

How did you install it ? I updates because you said there's no problem with it and when I try to boot it flashes the apple logo and restarts again. Any ideas?

Did you patch mach_kernel after the update? If you haven't done it then load up the your USB installer, mount your Osx partition and then patch the kernel using:

perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x6c(\x48\x83\xc7\x28\x90\x8b\x05..\x5e\x00\x85\x47\xdc)\x74\x54(\x8b\x4f\xd8\x45\x85\xc0\x74\x08\x44\x39\xc1\x44\x89\xc1)\x75\x44(\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x57\xf8\x48\x8b\x47\xe8\x48\x85\xc0\x74\x06\x48\xf7\xd0\x48\x21\xc2\x48\x0b\x57\xf0\x49\x89\xd1\x49\xc1\xe9\x20\x89\xd0\x8b\x4f\xd8\x4c\x89\xca)(\x0f\x30\x8b\x4f\xd8\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x17\x48\x83\xc7\x30\xff\xce)\x75\x99(\x5d\xc3)\x90{7}|\x74\x73${1}\x74\x5b${2}\x75\x4b${3}\x66\x81\xf9\xe2\x00\x74\x02${4}\x75\x92${5}|g' mach_kernel

Could you guide me through it ? Because I haven't any Mac Os to patch the kernel to USB installer , can I patch the kernel using the terminal in the installation ? If I can , what's the code to use ?

I actually meant to say that you need to patch it using the terminal in the installer.

1.Load up the terminal from the installation

2.then type: cd /Volumes/"your drive"

Where "your drive" is the name of your maverick partition.

3. Type: cp mach_kernel mach_kernel.backup

4. Then patch the kernel:

perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x6c(\x48\x83\xc7\x28\x90\x8b\x05..\x5e\x00\x85\x47\xdc)\x74\x54(\x8b\x4f\xd8\x45\x85\xc0\x74\x08\x44\x39\xc1\x44\x89\xc1)\x75\x44(\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x57\xf8\x48\x8b\x47\xe8\x48\x85\xc0\x74\x06\x48\xf7\xd0\x48\x21\xc2\x48\x0b\x57\xf0\x49\x89\xd1\x49\xc1\xe9\x20\x89\xd0\x8b\x4f\xd8\x4c\x89\xca)(\x0f\x30\x8b\x4f\xd8\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x17\x48\x83\xc7\x30\xff\xce)\x75\x99(\x5d\xc3)\x90{7}|\x74\x73${1}\x74\x5b${2}\x75\x4b${3}\x66\x81\xf9\xe2\x00\x74\x02${4}\x75\x92${5}|g' mach_kernel

I'm away from my computer so I won't be able to give you more details until I get home.

Thank you very much for the help ! I really appreciate it .

1- So I don't need to patch the kernel before ?

2- Can I create the USB installer in windows and then patch the kernel using your method ?

Edit: tried to create a USB installer using Windows but when I try to boot from usb it does the same like when I try to boot the hackintosh , the apple logo flashes and restarts.

the problem is that you must used a patched kernel, or patch it with the code i gave you before.

To make things a bit simpler i'll attach my kernel, copy to the root of your usb installer and see if it loads.

If the installer works, then copy the same kernel to the root of your Osx drive.

I manager to create a USB installer in another Mac PC, but my problem now is that I changed the intelazulfb from 12 to 15 in bootlist and after apple logo I get a black screen , any ideas?

Edit : Well  managed to solve the problem about the black screen booting with the flags :

-     grapphicsenabler=yes

-     intelazulfbr=12

-    -x -f -v

But now my problem is that the top bar is having some weird looking , and the battery percent stats isn't showing anymore.
