Just introduced myself.

Have a nice day everybody.

Hi, I'm Andre and my brain hurts.

Just reading and learning like everyone else.

I was able to install SL 10.6.3 on my Dell Studio 540 using a guide I found on here, it mostly worked.

I'm really interested in installing SL 10.6.8 on my Acer Aspire M5800 and eventually purchasing and installing Lion.

Hi, I'm NoiZe(mm) and this is my first post. I have good knowledge about the the pc environment but with with apple for the moment I'm limited to have: an iPhone 3gs (4.3.3 with jb), an old iBook on wich I installed tiger, a virtual machine with lion and since yesterday an hackintosh (ASUS P5QL-PRO, Nvidia 8400 GS). Now I'm writing from my new Mac and I'm extremely happy! eheh

My other IT knowledge include something about:

-windows mobile (many HTC smartphones firmware modding experience)

-fonera (with dd-wrt firmware)

-xbox1 (softmodded and with XBMC)

-xbox360 (modded dvd firmware)

-wii (softmodded)

-I tried Ubuntu for a while (but I love&HATE that linux distr)

-some nas mods

-... and maybe something else I don't remember :(

Bye

Hi there!

My Name is Noé and I'm form Switzerland. I picked up a dead Powermac G5 and now wanna turn it into a Hackintosh! The Forum looks extremely cool!

:D

Little edit: I speak Swiss German, German, French, English and Spanish (and Latin)

I wanted to find out how to edit, that's why I added this piece of information.

Im a new user from Los Angeles and just bought a used Dell Mini 10V with mac OS preinstaleld but wnat to learn more to add a dual boot. Also always been a PC person since my CAD software did not run well in MAC, but also into photography and editing movies so figured I would learn MAC to take advantage of programs that dont run on the PC. Getting the netbook is a first step in learning the ins and outs of a mac's OS and then perhaps I will build a desktop to use final cut pro...

Best regards,

Marc

Hi there,

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on here and also to say thank you.

Thanks to the members on InsanelyMac, I'm up and running with 10.6.8 on my Acer 8730.

regards...Chas

ps. Will post what I've done and how I got there in the appropriate sections of the site.

Hello all,

I am very green behind the ears at trying to build something that can stand the rigors of photo and music editing for home use, PS and PT. I have not a lot of Mac experience but I do have a small core of knowledge regarding computers. Please feel free the throw questions my way but do expect that I will remind you of my own level of abilities in this area, one major reason why I am here!

Cheers,

Doc ;)

Hello everyone, my name Morphetti, I'm Italian, and I'm 32 years old, have always loved mac and produce music for about 10 years, I am a DJ in various clubs, a few weeks ago for a stroke of luck, I managed to install macosx on my setup, unfortunately the hard drive where I installed it broke and now I can not remember the settings to reconfigure everything. I have followed several different guides and tutorials but I could not do anything.

My setup is as follows :

MB : P5QL\EPU

CPU : INTEL CORE 2 6320 @ 1,86Ghz

RAM : 2 X 2GB DDR2 800Mhz CORSAIR XMS2

VIDEO : NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

HD: SATA 320 SEAGATE

DVD: DVD\SATA

I have several distros, and I accept all your help with humility

I thank you in advance

M.

Hi Everyone,

New user here. I keep ending up at these forums whenever I'm searching for Mac related info, so thought it best to register in this site. I'm running a Hackintosh Aopen i915Ga-E and have Quartz Extreme enabled, but still working on the audio. Had audio working with Leopard, and of course it works with Linux, so I know it isn't a hardware issue. Well, I know this intro page is not for discussions about what's working or not, so I will make a post in the appropriate forum.

Please don't reply to this introducion. Thanks & nice to meet y'all.

Donald MacD

I'm Pebblejoy from some United Kingdom.

I upgraded a Mac Mini 1.1 2006 to Core 2 Duo 2.3 GHz, upgraded HD (750 GB 7.2 trpm), RAM (2 GB) and ODD (internal 2x r/w BD PATA drive).

My hobby is to update this wunderful machine with OS X as long as possible (Lion and beyond).

:)

I am a new user in this forum.

I am quite a pro user in the Windows world, I know quite well Linux, I am also a developer (web, php, css, java), with a passion for computer, but in the Mac world I am a newbie.

I want to start by doing a hackintosh (already have the hardware, need to mount the software), later I might get a mac.

Wish me luck...
