Ok well i don't really want to wait for each new user and greet because it just might take a long while :-). So i been having some issues with my macOS Sequoia install it's pretty much OK but i am missing HDMI sound. My mobo is Maximus XI Extreme Z390, proc is 9900KS and i am using the hdmi port from the back of my mobo to run mac on a different screen. I also see two monitors in Display category which is pretty confusing... I am using alcid=28 btw if that makes any difference. Do you guys have some suggestions for me or is there anything i need to add to my plist in order to make the hdmi sound to work. I would like to add that while it does detect the monitor the volume slider is greyed out.

Hi, what is the make of your motherboard i.e Gigabyte, Asus, MSI etc.

Also zip and post your EFI Folder, I will see if I can get Audio working for you.

Hello there, thanks for the reply! Here is the EFI, my board is Asus Maximus XI Extreme Z390. Note that i kept adding to it because i thought i was missing something and that's why my hdmi audio doesn't work but it does work without so many lines though. I also do not have wifi yet because i mainly use cable but i'll probably make an EFI with that too just to have it in case i need. Thank you for the time.

Sorry Bro I cannot open the file as it is not formatted the usual way, don't use any third party app to zip the folder

Just copy and paste the EFI Folder to the Desktop then right click it and choose from the menu 'Compress........'

This will then zip the folder whereas you'll be able to post it here.

It will then be in the usual Apple format.

Oh ok i used WinRAR i didn't know it's an issue... i'm on windows rn 🙂

OK I will take a look.

It is pretty late here so if I don't get back to you straight away, don't despair.

I will endeavour to see what I can do to help or another member will come to your aid.

Cheers.

It's late here as well just look at it when you got the time it's no stress. Thanks for the time and have a good one.

@agstrato Ok try this EFI Folder after cleaning the Nvram.

Let me know what result you get.

I need to get some sleep now.

Good luck. Cheers.

I haven't tried this EFI because i doubt it will boot on my PC, it seems to be for a PC with Radeon RX580 which i obviously don't have, i am using the integrated iGPU. It was late and you probably mixed EFIs? 🙂

The EFI Folder was taken from an exact machine such as yours.

The only difference is the RX580 Graphics which is easy to fix and cater for your machine. Follow the method as laid out below.

In the Device Properties just delete the Data for the RX580 and fill in the data for the Integrated IGPU, problem solved.

This EFI Folder should work albeit needing a few minor tweaks here and there.

Ok i have just tried your EFI with mi iGPU settings and i also changed the boot-args. As i have seen alcid=1 from your EFI i also tried that one as well. It's pretty much the same, still no hdmi sound and still multiple monitors while i only have one. Also one thing i noticed after i rebooted from it i got the famous bios f1 continue setup from Asus motherboard. Just in case the person you got this EFI from gets the same error the kext "RTCMemoryFixup.kext" fixes it, even though you still get the time delay bug which is also fixable but i haven't gotten to it yet. I am going to message you private because the EFI is bigget than 10mb and it doesn't let me upload it here.

Hello there, I have used Hackintoshes for sometime, now I have set up an Optiplex 7070 MT with working cardreader.  Was lucky and found a fitting EFI on this site: https://github.com/Jianhua-Wang/DELL-Optiplex-7060-7040-Clover

Wanted to share this if someone else still want to use Mojave, added RealtekCardReader.kext and RealtekCardReaderFriend.kext to get the cardreader working.
