That really sucks for you man, and you seem fine, mature, cool and all that stuff, but the rest of your generation isn't. And I know how that is. You'll be ridiculed simply because you have more refined tastes. And don't feel like an idiot. It wasn't your fault, it was the rest of your stupid classmates that made her feel bad. As for what to say, uh, I never really had that problem. And if I did, I was drunk so I don't remember it (I started alot of relationship while drunk, the morning after we usually both decline). But, I really saw that her "yes" was genuine, and I saw that she was sad and that someone killed her inside (after they critisized the {censored} out of her). She barely spoke with her friends, and was a little teary eyed all afternoon. Last year, this girl asked me to winter formal (she goes to a different school), and then all teh people on my swim team gave her {censored} about it, and she changed her mind. It sucks. She likes me now though... And thats in high school. Well, at least you can be mature about it. Girls can be real b*tches sometimes... and i don't mean her, but her friends and others...
