bcc9
Sorry I didnt look back! also I havent looked in AppleHDA. Is aa60 listed? have you tried fluffing devid 58 aa or adding correct 60 aa in DSDT? No, but neither is aa58. The PCI matching would be based upon the class (]0x0402 or 0x0403). Then the codec 0x1002aa01 is explicitly matched within the AppleHDA code. I assume the codec is the same for your 57xx card. Perhaps if you could attach your ioreg dump for the HDAU subtree so I can compare. EDit - not being flippant I am also looking. Me neither, thanks for the help

By class do you mean class code? Oh pciclass,040300 I see you have " "layout-id" = <00000000>" Could injecting "78030000" help? actually thats layout id for alc888? bcc9
correct vendor id and dev id : [1682:aa58] FKA_HDAU.txt Here you go. By class do you mean class code? So I'm missing everything starting at the AppleHDAEngineOutputDP node. (Same problem I was having with HDMI with an nvidia 9400m...) I think your ioreg shows the AppleHDAEngineOutputDP even when you don't have an HDMI receiver attached, right? Could injecting "78030000" help? Er, that's an 888 decimal, so I assume it's a throw-back from what you added for your alc888 pathmap matching. In AppleHDA there is an additional match against just 0xAA58, to branch to the AppleHDAFunctionGroupATI_Broadway code vs the 0xaa60 match which branches to the AppleHDAFunctionGroupATI_Park code... FKA
I think your ioreg shows the AppleHDAEngineOutputDP even when you don't have an HDMI receiver attached, right? NO just rebooted with HDMI decode capable mon' unplugged and its isn't there anymore! Edit obviously hotpluggable as reappears when replugged! In AppleHDA there is an additional match against just 0xAA58, to branch to the AppleHDAFunctionGroupATI_Broadway code vs the 0xaa60 match which branches to the AppleHDAFunctionGroupATI_Park code... Presume you looking at sources. I don't have them. dont forget I'm green when it comes to digging that deep D

FKA
Darn I was hoping I could troubleshoot that part without having to always be plugged into my only AVR. hmm . I don't use separate decoder just HDMI to LCD TV. does your AVR support the codecs being presented? D
bcc9
hmm . I don't use separate decoder just HDMI to LCD TV. does your AVR support the codecs being presented? Yes, my setup worked fine with a 2010 macmini's hdmi audio Presume you looking at sources. I don't have them. dont forget I'm green when it comes to digging that deep It's just that apple leaves a lot of symbols in their kext's. Shh, don't tell One other idea: your alc888 AppleHDA changes don't include HDMI info under <key>LayoutID</key><integer>888</integer>, right? Any help appreciated! D Re: Hardware and system UUID. For starters I didn't remember the hardware UUID is generated from system UUID! Also I'm sure previous hardware builds of mine have shown both hardware and system UUID's in system profiler, this one only shows Hardware UUID? It seems MSI use a generic System UUID (00020003-0004-0005-0006-000700080009) which is why I couldn't work out why my Hardware UUID in system profiler was far from unique. A quick google search showed several other people with the same Hardware UUID! I've since generated a unique UUID and have added this to boot.plist - SystemId=xxxXXxXxXxxX Re: Memory detection - I've switched to an earlier BIOS that actually seems more stable and haven't seen this problem again! EDIT - I am still seeing the RAM detection problem as mentioned above D
Pink Waters
I had my ati 5870 working for a long time. I was running it with the aty_init method. I was using windows for the last couple of months but I was switching back and forth between the two on certain occasions. First time I switched to OSX a while back I noticed that the screen turns off and then tries to come up again but with some noise in the display until it stabilize.. Suddenly last time I booted to OSX, now gives a black screen (monitor goes to power saving mode, not sure if the fan goes 100% or not).. I tried the new kabyl ati chameleon with/without my own rom file, same issue, black screen. the VGA is working fine on windows 7, dunno why it started doing this on OSX, weird! I don't have a backup osx drive to boot up and seek whats going on, I am only stuck with single user mode now. any suggestions?

dickhouse
just got new laptop Asus K42JZ with CoreI3-380M and Radeon HD 6470M, trying to install iAtkos S3 v2 but got blank screen. Tried several bootcd helper (empire efi, nawcom bootcd, #####) but none of them works. Is this problem related to unsupported graphic cards. If not what aticonfig that should i use. any helps would be aprreciated.. Thanks!
FKA
I don't think there is support for the HD6xxx series! certainly not with this booter. D
TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
6000 Frame buffers are still missing and doesn't seem to be coming in the next OS update but who knows apple did make reference to them in a few kexts already possibly there might be a software update down the road unless they just wanted to tease us. Pink Waters
did it look like this? Yeah pretty much as I remember. i experienced something similiar on my primary monitor (dual dvi at hd5770) after updating to kabyl 700. just one monitor switching off and on. the other and the desktop all normal. after reverting back with the kabyl from ##### 3.0 im back to normal (64bit). I updated to kabyl 700 from the single user mode, and I still got the same problem, with both DVI slots.. I don't know what else to do. I still have 10.6.4, and someone on another post advised me to reinstall, sl graphics update. but as I am stuck with Single User Mode, if you or anyone have the time to extract the kexts from the graphics update with pacifist and uploads them for me to test out this option and try replacing the kexts, I would be very thankful. any other suggestions will be very welcomed. I wouldn't hold your breath - there is nothing in the 10.6.7 beta's unfortunately

I have two monitors both connected to DVI and I don't know why but sometimes I have the same problem you are experiencing; however all I do is to reboot and it fixes it. Then after few days or so it come back again with one monitor switching on off and again I just reboot and it goes away. It is really weird can't figure it out. FKA
I see the digital snow at random times with any bootloader other than this one! Had 'digital snow' twice since i posted this optimistic comment! On both occasions I had powered down my monitor and my machine had gone to sleep. On wake from sleep and powering up the monitor I get the snow! Power the monitor on and off again and it comes good! D
edgar87
Does any one have a compiled version of the Kabyl loader version 733?
oswaldini
FKA, sometimes I have the same situation on XFX 5870. What about temperature ? My XFX 5870: in Windows 38-42*C, in Mac OS X 58-63*C (IDLE) !! Fan in mac os spins faster and it annoys me because I have 3 quiet fans (3x 120mm @ 900rpm - PSU, CASE, CPU) And the last thing - performance. Any ideas how to increase performance ? Result in cinebench is about 34 fps.
starobrno1
Give it a rest mate! - Kabyl clearly asks for testers in the first post, not whingers like you! As I said to you before: once this is a completed project, then it will be open to all, simple to use and fully explained. It's not about being a club for the 'cool guys'. It's about people with an average knowledge of this scene helping those who are developing code for us ALL to use! I don't see you whining on the 'How to boost the boost the OSX boot process' thread. Possible it could be the most ground breaking thread in a while and I see no point by point idiot proof guide. And 95% of users here (me included) will struggle to follow it. But for sure if it ever becomes a final product a lot of people could benefit ... If it wasn't for the developers developing and users giving USEFUL feedback, there wouldn't be anything to share. Or do you really believe all this stuff just magics itself into 'user friendly' existence! Sleep tight D Once more then if you post here make sure you tell people how to use it. Now why the heck would I be whining on that thread? What I´m trying to do when I post stuff here is to help people get osx up running as fast and good as ever possible. There are lots of sites out there where you can experiment and then when your done come back here and let the people know how to use the stuff. For example couple of years back I found out all you had to do to get a whole a bunch of videocards work with the NVinject.kext was to edit the NVcap in it and it would work. Was a really easy fix. Theres a good thread going about the mobo I have but for some reason the method there does´nt work for everybody with this mobo so I posted an alternative way to do it (which works even faster). So what I mean is that this is´nt always the complecated hocus pocus some like us to believe it is and sure can make it look like it is. And if you want testers for your stuff tell them how to use it.
joe75
starobrno1, what the hell is wrong with you? How many times do you need to be told this is not for help or support? Make your own damn thread for that {censored} and help all you want. If you dont know how to replace a file or need instructions on how to do so, your participation is not needed. You are now officially a troll! PLEASE STOP POSTING HERE!!!!! >_>
