This looks promising ;)

 

Now in System Profiler my Bus Speed is 980Mhz before it was 100Mhz, but not sure if this is right, I think it should be 200Mhz

 

 

But this looks better than my old bootloader : Chameleon 2 RC5 rev. 699

rewrite your installation guide please.

 

There are "strange" lines in it.

 

I got - mount_hfs: resource is busy on this command - mount_hfs /dev/diskXs1 /Volumes/EFI

diskXs1 is already mounted on /. It has to be remounted?

but how?

 

and the next line is also unclear. What not to write? the whole line is in blue. If i skip it, the the next command like "p" doesn't make any sense".

 

If I have legacy_kernel file I have to copy it instead of mach_kernel?

with Mohamed we were testing stuff like a one-eyed coder (as we cannot see if success is being general or only for his cpu). Am actually looking for more beta-testers.

btw, you are probably safer installing with the unofficial installer from ifa (here) and then simply replacing the boot file with the one from here.

maybe stick with tsc freq for first p-state. But then, it is going to yell about fsb.

I need a little help. Did you add Atom specific code and if yes for what? I've seen something in the CPU detection sources, but that won't stop people from booting does it? Where should I look when someone with an Atom can't boot?

 

p.s. This is something that has kept me from giving you the patch we've been PM'ing about :(

This my friend is a bit longer process (as your cpu is a k8). So if you like, we can start a long battery of tests. Tell when you have time for this.

Nah. I just get loads of help from other people. Like ten in total by now. And I didn't know jack when I started but things are sticking like glue to my brai. That and making clear notes.

I remember you a while ago (on mozo's thread) asking how to know if one cpu has local apic supported.

In a next stage, u've got a hassle when it came to the way to add the CPUID_FEATURE_APIC bit into the cpu features hex (in ioreg). Nobody answered you. I did.

At the end u discovered that the bit in question already existed in ioreg.

Ridiculously enough, (yeah u can lough) I never had to verify if the features hex (in ioreg) were actually changing. Or maybe I did but I can't remember it by now (not sure but IIRC some bits where not showing on my board). All I can say about features is the fact that sysctl (and surely the whole os) did already knew about those features.

Now if it comes to happen that the os or some software would rely on this hex to do stuff, that time, we would be safe.

Shocker. There you have it. That post shows exactly what I said. I really didn't know anything. It also shows what determined people can do when they are ignored, because I wasn't really thinking about picking up where MC left off (in terms of Revolution). It was, and still is, a steep learning curve but also a lot of fun. You know programming is, or can be fun. And you may have replied to me, but I can't recall nor can't find it. Never mind. There's simply too much going on. You are a nice person anyway. Sorry I missed it. And thanks for the reply I guess.

Ah of course. You are right. Making me recall a MSR Tools screendump where either one or both of the TM1 and TM2 bits were missing / not set.
