Can somebody confirm that MSI R5770 Hawk is working?

@Matteonerm: I have not yet tested, but as far as I can tell - whatever method you use - you have to be on 10.6.4 as the new kexts are only supported with the updated OS. So you first have to install & then update your system & then try out the methods described in here.

i installed the drivers using 10.6, it works like a charm but in 32 bit and i have ATY_Init... im currently updating to 10.6.4 and then remove the ATY_Init and run it in 64 bit hopefully it'll work flawless cause i can't run front row and it's kinda slow although my system profiler recognizes it and runs on 1920x1080 on hdmi...

5750 here. Having some odd problem. Unlike everyone, I'm having grey screen with odd lines rather then black. And I'm 100 % sure that this is being caused by 'ATIRadeonX3000.kext' and with out this kext, nothing changes (no high res etc.

I installed all six bundles and kexts in s/l/e. Can someone advice?

Note: Dual display aren't helping. same problem with with both displays :P

thx for the reply, but can I install the OS, 10.6 or 10.6.4, without graphics driver?

Cause in this way I don't know if the ##### method will work... Maybe I could choose vesa driver instead 5750 drivers, at least for the first boots?

@killmark: have you installed SL with 5750 driver already working?

i've made several tests (fresh install on ga-p55a-ud4 - i5 750 - hd5770) using the ##### Supported and the official Snow Leopard DVD.

in Chamaleon, the booting of the SL DVD resulted in black screen (DPMS OFF) + VGA fan at max speed. this was happening even with the -x command, and with the additional DVI2VGA adapter inserted (but with no 2nd monitor connected)

without the -x option, the reported problem (black + fan) occours almost immediately, while with the -x option, the system appears to load something from the DVD (for about 1 minute) and then results in the usual black screen + fan noise

i'll appreciate your collaboration; thanks in advance for your work

you can install the driver in 10.6 but upgrading to 10.6.4 it will work flawless in 32 bit... 10.6 does not fully support the 5000 drivers, it's kinda slow but when i upgraded to 10.6.4 everything seems fast... i used ATY_Init (vervet) and the 7 other files using kext helper b7, set GraphicsEnabler=No using terminal and typed sudo nano /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist and boot in 32bit everything will work... i'm gonna try removing ATY_init and boot in 64bit with GraphicsEnabler=Yes... my card is 5770 by the way... my card before is GTS 250 so i have to remove NV64Enabler in /Extra/Extensions

everyone having trouble should boot using -s mode.

mount your drive, delete ATIRadeonX3000.kext and ATISupport.kext so you can then boot to desktop again.

Delete ATY_Init

exit

run kext utility which will repair S/L/E and clear caches

Install tmongkols edited version of Asere Bootloader, install the 7 ATI kexts without ATY_Init

Edit your boot plist to containt GraphicsEnabler=Yes and also remove all boot flags so it boots to 64bit by default.

Then everything should work fine.

2x DVI tested - works

HDMI - works perfect and also as a extended desktop.

i manage to get it working in 32 bit

now i deleted delete ATY_Init.kext, ATIRadeonX3000.kext and ATISupport.kext

run kext utility

installed 7 kext without ATY_Init

edited my boot.plist with graphicsenabler=yes and arch=x86_64

still black screen but i manage to boot sl but with graphicsenabler set to no but 1024x768 resolution

but when i revert the settings, installed again the 7 kext and ATY_Init

my computer is slow again, and doesn't have QE/CI coz no ripple effect on dashboard widgets and

no video on VLC

i wanted to boot in 64 bit can you help me :( thanks

Is 10.6.4 required for Asere + Netkas kexts?

I have HD5770

Thanks

i have 5770 too but when i used 10.6 it's slow and doesn't have qe/ce but when i upgraded to 10.6.4 everything is fast and i can watch with vlc and open front row... so i suggest that you use 10.6.4

Thanks for the reply ^^

I don't have GraphicEnabler in my boot.plist, do I enter it myself?

Also is the use of kextutility needed to clean up the caches etc?

I've been at this for over 10 hours.. will do clean install of SL again and keep trying.. :)

Cheers

try this

reinstall, in 10.6

install the ATY_Init (vervet) with the 7 drivers using kext helper b7

then install whatever like dsdt, 32bit com.apple.boot.plist, bootloader and whatever kext you need to boot up properly...

don't forget to set the GraphicsEnabler=No and boot in 32bit :D

restart then update to 10.6.4 be sure you have all 7 plus ATY_Init (vervet) tell me if it worked

by the way there's a thing PCUID thingy for the one's without DSDT... tell me the results :P

my boot.plist looks like this and edit the one on the Extra folder

i uploaded the files that i used

ATI.zip

try this

reinstall, in 10.6

mark; how did you boot for the first time, using the 5770?

using the tony's ##### supported (+ SL retail) results in black screen + 100% fan rpm..

Hello everyone, I have just successfully installed iATKOS S3 on my pc. It's the 10.6.3 version and it seems to run ok.

I have the ATI 5770 Grahpicscard and i heard that someone just came out with drivers for this card. Since I'm very new to all this hackintosh business could someone please guide me towards a comprehensive guide on how to get my graphic-card drivers properly installed so that i can enjoy my new Mac OS X experience ?

Thanks in advance

Just making it one step simpler to install for peeps with the 5xxx cards. Thanks to netkas, we can all use the drivers: http://netkas.org/?p=465

I used the files that kill_mark supplied because I couldn't get the default files from netkas to work.

Thanks to everyone for their hard work and persistance.

Good luck to everyone else.

Finally got my Sapphire 5750 working :( Oddly enough, I think it was because I went straight to 10.6.4 from a clean install. This time I went to 10.6.2 first because it was made aware to me that update had some important graphical changes to OSX, so since I had literally done just about everything else, I decided to reformat and try that method and it worked the first time with QE/CI and dual displays (one on DisplayPort, one on the DVI next to the fan vent... if the other DVI is on the main input panel it didn't work right)

Many thanks to netkas and all the other forum members for their reports.

So is it safe to assume that all of these kext for the 5xxx will only work for SL? I'm curently running ideneb v1.6 lite (Leopard 10.5.8) and every single one i've tried has not worked.

My specs

AMD PII 945 3.2

8gigs ram

XFX 5770 1gig

GB ga-ma790XT-ud4p

OSX86 iDeneb v1.6 lite (OS X 10.5.8)

I don't think it will work. How come you haven't updated to Snow Leopard if I may ask?

Well he couldnt have upgraded to SL if he is runnning an 5770, like me i have wanted to upgrade but couldnt. Now there is an experimental driver so im going to see if ii can get it to work.

Is there a particular distro i should use....i have more or less the same system as eluminx

I am a total noob when it come to mac.Ok i can use it but this whole custom boot, edit this and that makes me feel like a 5 years old.

I had the 8800gts and everything was working fine on my iatkos 7 hackintosh, untill my card blew up and i bought the Asus 5770 1gig.

Since then i cant boot up my hackintosh. I was getting the round clock thingy to infinity.

So my question is this:

1) I used Time machine to backup my stuff on an external hard disk. If i do a fresh install of iatkos s3 will i be able to restore my desktop files after from that backup?

2) Will i be able to run my (new) hackintosh with 1 VGA monitor ? I dont have 2 monitors and the one i have doesnt have a dvi plug.

Thanks.
