Computers and cars. I stumbled onto OSx86 about in 2008 but only started to dangle with it late 2009. I have to say, I have definitely learned quite a bit compared to what I thought would be possible with a PC, let alone a Mac. Not trying to dis Macintosh, but before this new hobby I was completely a PC guy. Now I don't even own windows on any of my hard drives. And no offense to Apple but damn, I can't see myself spending $2000(for the config that I want) for a Mac when I can get it this way. And I DID buy the original Distro!!!
1. If lion doesn't see an ethernet card as en0 and working, it will never let you sign on. I honestly advice you guys to use a wireless card if you have one and keep your onboard ethernet card listed in System Profiler as en0. Your wireless should be en1.
2. There is a 64bit kernel present in the newest version of ##### 2.2.0. You will need to edit your com.apple.boot.plist to reflect your boot choices. Google how to make chameleon boot in 64bit. Also head over the Tonymacx86's blog and forum. I saw a couple folks with your motherboard and CPU combo. I'm not going to be of much help because I'm preoccupied with PS3 stuff. But good luck. Keep searching if you can't a reply from anyone. Jay

how to boot from a hdd

You need to install Chameleon which should be on the selection list when installing iAtkos.

booting retail dvd from chameleon

What are your specs? If you have an intel setup just download #####. Either nvidia, ati, or supported. One of those should work. Burn it to your flash drive or on a disk.

My snow wont boot?

Spec of that emachines d525? Also, do you get a circle with a slash inside? If so then check for AHCI settings in Bios. Jay

Kernal Panic with 5770 Drivers =S

http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4603 Try that guide or go to the Graphics hardware section in this forum, go to ATI and you'll see the 5770. THere's a thread dedicated to it. Jay

Ati HD 5770 driver

Go to about page 13, you'll see a guys named Tmongl, in his Sig is a solution for you. Or head over to Tonymacx86's blog or forum under his Graphics section. Yes you are new, but you have to read. Even if it takes 31 pages to get the answer. I have never ever asked a question about how to install anything relating to Snow Leopard.(Not to my memory atleast, lol). Just keep reading bro and you'll find your answers that you need. Jay.
8. Quicknote. Be very VERY careful when using @bios. It is a very unstable flasher. Always try to use QFlash. If your USB drive isn't detected, try using a USB floppy drive(Yeah they still exist, lol).
9. THat's a BETA driver and it's not guaranteed to work. Only few have it working correctly. And some that do have it working, breaks other things like sleep, etc. Head over to tonymacx86 and search for a solution. I think there is a new beta there that works a bit better. Jay
10. Hi, Unless you selected kexts during ##### installation it didn't install any other than chameleon and a 32bit boot kernel. You say that it doesn't work unless you use #####, okay, what is happening when you don't boot with #####? Do you get a KP? Or do you get stuck on boot up with 'waiting for root device' etc? As for backing up you SL, I would suggest using Carbon Copy Cloner. Jay.

Will my Hardware work?

I did a search in google and it appears that there are some folks that have your board and other variations of it with Snow Leopard. Seeing that it's an AMD board I recommend going with a distro like LeoHazard. Or you can go Retail by buying a copy of the Snow Leopard upgrade disc and trying your luck with the Chameleon RC4 or even the unofficial RC5. Good Luck.
12. http://prasys.info/2009/09/guidecreating-y...n-smbios-plist/ Try that. It's probably just a cosmetic issue. Hopefully it is just that and nothing else. I used that guide to get SL to see my hardware correctly. Jay.

Help me get this perfect!

You're welcome. Update your sig to reflect it. That fix should have solved your unknown quicktime issues and issues with spotlight search you might not have known of. Jay
14. You could even check out Catri's custom bios. Not sure if there is one for your motherboard, but if there is one, you will pretty much have everything working on your OSX. Just google Catri Bios and it should come up. Jay

Biostar H55 HD

http://www.tonymacx86.com/dsdt.php Check that link often for updated DSDTs. Google 'minimal edits for DSDT'. That should show you the sleep fix which will fix Sleep/Restart/Shutdown issues. Edit: Your bios setting for HPET should be set to 64-bit support instead of Off. Jay
