Hello!

Im having some problems when running Apple DVD Player. The video is choppy and the audio is stuttering.

I have OSX 10.4.5 running on a P4 3.2 GHz with SSE2. Everyting else is working fine, but shurely my system should be fast enough to run DVD´s. I can play the movie att full speed and with good sound using MPlayer. But i would prefer using Apple DVD Player so that i can select subtitles and audio tracks.

My graphic card is a Radeon 9800 Pro and does support QE, but how do I know that its active?

Thanx

I have the same problem, I've never been able to ever run any version of DVDplayer and actually watch a DVD. I do have QE and CI enabled in my ATI x700 but no SSE3, so it could be due to this or either the lack of a proper ATI driver/framebuffer.

How did you get the X700 working? thanks

I just try to see a DVD via Apple DVDPlayer, and the video is choppy (play-pause-play-pause).

The same DVD plays excellent on VLC, but quits many times.

I used the 10.4.8 Latest Jas DVD and my machines specs are in my signature.

I don't think it's a GMA950 problem as i believe others have success with the onboard VGA.

I have SSE2 only and now, after mac os x 10.4.9 with kernel 8.9.1 (koolkal latest osx86 kernel pack 1049(intel+amd)) update, the DVD Player run fine to me.

No lags, no pauses. Fine, run fine vey well.

My setup is a Dell Latitude 120L Notebook.

Celeron M 1.6, 512 mb , DVD-RW, GMA900 (QI & CE ok).
