Hi,

I have the same problem as the guy above.

EasyBCD is unable to access BCD store

Problem details

The boot configuration data store could not be opened.

bcdedit.exe doesn't exist. However, I went to C:\Program Files\NeoSmart Technologies\EasyBCD\bin and tried to run bcdedit.exe in command prompt and it gives the same error.

disklayout.jpg

The unknown parititon is my osx.

I just reformatted and is doing some tests. It doesn't matter if I mess up everything. I'll just reformat again if needed. What I'm trying to do is searching for the best bootloader and it would be ok for me if you instructed me to do dangerous stuff just to make EASYBCD work. ^_^

ATM, I'm just trying to make WinXP and OSX dual boot.

Tnx!

Computer guru...

Is it possible to boot from an efi partition (M) situated on a sata disk partitioned in GUID, this is not the same phisycal disk where is installed XP on partition C and Vista (D).

OsX is 10.5.6 and bootloader is PC_efi v9.

This is the result of bcdedit from cmd...

C:\Programmi\NeoSmart Technologies\EasyBCD\bin>bcdedit.exe

EasyBCD Build 52 uploaded. See first post for download link

New feature: select drive to boot from in EasyBCD instead of keying it in yourself.

Gipo, you should be able to with the latest EasyBCD build. Just select the right disk number from the EasyBCD "add a mac entry" tab.

I guess my solution worked then!

:)

So what process does Build 52 take in order to set the boot device?

What about my little "About" mentioning?

Question

New select drive 0-9,What's mean?

select0 no add

select1 add biosdev=82

select2 add biosdev=83

(Skip)

select8 add biosdev=89

select9 add Biosdev=810

????????

Bug?

select1 add biosdev=81

(Skip)

select9 add biosdev=89

MyPC have 2HDD.

First HDD 2partion MBR

partition0 Windows Vista

partition1 data only

Second HDD 3partion GPT

partition0 EFI

partition1 Leopard 10.5.6 PCEFIv9

partition2 data only

FirstHDD BIOSDEV 80,SecondHDD BIOSDEV 81

Use EasyBCD2.0 Build52

select drive 1,menu.lst

title nst_mac.efi

find --set-root --ignore-floppies /NST/nst_mac.efi

kernel /NST/nst_mac.efi biosdev=82

boot

In this case,Boot select title nst_mac.efi.

Boot not find com.apple.Boot.plist,get chain0 booterror

edit biosdev=81,save&restart

In this case,same error

howtoFix?

The 810 thing is incorrect, and will be fixed. The number is the number is the number of the drive. EasyBCD, like Windows and Linux begins counting drives at 0. So 0 is BIOS drive 81. 1 is BIOS drive 82, and so on.

The next build of EasyBCD forces the 81 even in the case of 0.

Selecting a different drive won't get rid of the com.apple.Boot.plist error if that file isn't there.

What OS X distro did you install? Sounds like it didn't set up your menu correctly.

Hi Everyone,

.......

EasyBCD 2.0 features automated dual-booting between OS X, Windows 7/Vista/XP, and Linux.... and in this build has 100% one-click installation of pc_efi and chain0 OS X loaders.

........

I am very interesting about how can Install pc_efi under windows os.

Is there a way to install Chameleon under windows os too?

My purpos is in this post

I seem to be having problems getting OSX to boot from a SATA drive.

I have added two entrees to EasyBCD (I have the latest version) MacOSX and MacOSXTest

I have osx installed on my IDE drive named MacOSX and it boots perfectly.

But easybcd won't boot the SATA drive named MacOSXTest.

It shows the entree I added but when I select it and click enter it goes to the MacOSX entree and I boot my IDE drive.

The sata drive is marked boot and the drive I'm trying to bot from is my 74gb Raptor.

Specs in Sig.

I am having the exact same problem as Colaly.

2 HD's

1st drive has 1 partition for Windows 7

2nd drive has 2 partitions, 1 for EFI and the other for Leopard.

No matter which drive I select 0 or 1 I still get the boot menu and have to manually select 0x80 or 0x81 (in my case 0x81 for second drive)

I too noticed option 0 sets up as BOOT and 1 sets as 0x82

Manually editing Menu.lst to devce 0x81 does not work either.

lateralusman, please try the latest build of EasyBCD and manually specify a drive number when adding an EFI entry.

WyseOne, Colaly: Are you saying the "force a drive" feature in EasyBCD isn't working in the latest build?

That is correct, after selecting my OSX from windows dual boot screen it boots to the GRUB where I have to select /NST/nst_mac.efi from there I have the 2 second countdown to change my boot device to 0x81.

"force a drive" feature in EasyBCD isn't working.

Use GrubDfe.iso,check my biosdev.

SATA0Port FirstHDD MBR Vista biosdev 80

SATA1Port DVD-Writer biosdev fe

SATA2Port SecondHDD GPT Leopard biosdev 81

Leopard Install Retail10.5.4+10.5.6ComboUpdate+Universal OSX86 Installer(Custum plugin&PCEFIv9 Install)

EasyBCD 2.0 Build52 Use MACOSX entry add.

Use select drive 1,menu.lst biosdev=82,restart com.apple.Boot.plist not found NTLDR ChainError

change select drive 0,menu.lst biosdev no added, restart same error

change menu.lst biosdev value,myPC secondHDD=81,same error
