I have a brand new machine to test it on :

GA-EP45-DS3

E5200 / E8200 / Q6600 (pick one)

4x2GB DDR2

GeForce 9800GTX (PoV EXO edition)

D-Link pci-e 802,11n card

I couldn't get the 9800GTX to work OOB with any avaible install and would be glad to test it with yours. I also have a HD3870X2 lying around.

Some other machines : Intel DQ35JO Desktop board, Dell Latitude D620, Intel Little Valley 1 (with the SiS chipset and no SATA). I'd also need a new desktop machine soon, and may buy a micro atx mainboard, do you have one in mind, preferably for a q6600 or q9550 ?

Also, I have 2 dedicated servers with unmettered 100Mb avaible for seeding, if needed.

I have 2 computers to test on, sig below is my main one. Have not yet gone to 10.5.5 as my 10.5.4 is working very well, I have a few spare hard drives so I'm up for it ...

I would also like to try it on my P5KPL-CM with E5200 chip (won't boot into Kalyway or iAtkos DVD's, just hangs on Apple screen and won't go into installer, using SATA drive and SATA pioneer 216 DVD drive), and I have just purchased a P5QL-EM (still in box) and thinking about using an E8400 with it (hope to purchase this week). If I cannot get the integrated graphics to play nice I have a MSI NX8400GS 512GB half-height card ready to slot in and try (my case is a uATX thin thing).

I can also seed at about 70mbps as my uploads are not counted by my ISP ...

Having some problems to get x1600 Pro (Sapphire - DEV ID 71C2) to work (no res. change or QE/CI enabled) with the KEXTs provided. The system even boots to the desktop. Needs to run with -x.

There was a bug with the script that moves the patches files from /S/L/Tempfiles to the /S/L/Extensions folder. Dont know if this is the case but you could try to apply the PPF1 (at the TPB) and give it another run.... If the problem persist I'll be glad if you point me to the right drivers (since I cannot test them by myself)....

thanks for testing!

Burned (with PPF1) and installed with no problems but x1600 Pro (Dev. ID 71c2 / pci-e) don't have Quartz or Core Image.

With my X1600XT (Dev ID 71C0 / pci-e) I just have to install with no Graphics Selection and put the NATITX1600.KEXT (one from Diabolik) on Extensions Folder that everthing works.

I just managed to get the x1600 PRO to have CI/QE on iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5 too) using Empty Skull REV1 Package + the same NATITx1600 to have resolution change.

Any Ideas to have a fully working x1600 option on Install?

Did you tryed to install the Empty Skull package after install XxX?.... I will have a look in my drivers repository to see what I find, but again I cannot test it (dont have the HW..) I guess the best way to figure out is install XxX without any extra ATI drivers and try to install the GPU drivers afterwards to see whichone works... If you figure out this let me know please...

I may have made something wrong.

I´m doing a clean install of XXX again now and will try the package again.

Edit: I made the same steps and it worked.

I need to leave to work, but when I return I will post the files and the screeen.

in this installation i've found the same bug as in many others.. (Leo4All v4 beta, iDeneb...)

the mouse pointer doesn't move properly. it freezes while moving mouse.

i know that i must upgrade my mouse, but in other distros it's ok (Leo4All 1-3, JaS, iATKOS).

BlackCH, could you fix this problem?

P.S. If it necessary, i can capture video...

Is this on the installer or on the already installed system? what kind of mouse do you have?

As promissed the files and the steps.

In the ZIP of the link below is the files from EMPTY SKULL X16x0 for 10.5.5, but some dupes that gave me some trouble, I`ve replaced the NATIT.KEXT from the original release from Empty Skull with the NATITX1600.KEXT that has worked for me on this x1600 PRO and in a X1600XT and have included KEXT HELPER, which I used to install the KEXTs.

I followed these steps:

- executed KEXT HELPER;

- from the plugin folder I selected the apropriate ATIRadeonX1000GA.plugin using the one that is inside the folder that matches the card device ID, in my case for X1600 PRO 71c2 and for X1600XT, 71c0 and dragged it to the KEXT HELPER;

- then I selected all other KEXTS and BUNDLES (ATIRadeon, ATIRadeonX1000, ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver, ATIRadeonX1000VADriver and NatitX1600) and dragged all them to KEXT HELPER;

- entered the password and installed the files. Rebooted.

- QE/CI and resolution change avaiable. No second monitor.

If someone can create a script to choose the correct ID from the plugins folder, it would be nice and easier to install, and, of course, would provide a way to have this as an option for the install disk.

  • 2 weeks later...

I´ve done another test.

I changed the videocard to a Radeon X1300 (ID 7146) and make it work, without selecting any kexts on the installer, but adding after the installation was complete a NATITx1300.KEXT avaiable on a old Diabolik´s installer to it. Got full resolution change, QE/CI and no mouse tearing. Perfect
