air10kuzya
Not working on Packard Bell BG46. LSPCI gives 82801H HD Audio controller Rev04 on 8086:284b. I've tried ALC268/660/861 and even Azalia, nothing works. The only thing that has changed, was Audio properties in System Profiler - displaying device ID 0x163C10A and Audio ID 12. Guess AppleHDA needs patching for this chip... Cheers to everybody!
fujjin
Excellent work ! Thanks everybody who participated in this. On Laptop Acer Extensa 5620,alc268, says : Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x1025011F Audio ID: 12 Available Devices: But auto-detecting headphones work ! WxofxW
I have a Toshiba M105-S3004 Laptop and I tried the ALC861 kext. It didn't work ... Is there anything else I can try? Or another sound card that I can purchase that will work with my Windows/Mac OS X dual boot?
filialguy
Hello All, I've been trying different ways to install this kext for my audio. I have the ALC268 hardware. So far, the most success I had was using Taruga's method. Unfortunately with this method, it doesn't do auto-switching when I plug in a headset. The mic doesn't work or isn't recognized and when the computer wakes up from sleep I don't have audio anymore. I can still work the volume up & down but there is no audio coming out of the speakers nor the headset (if I switch it manually). Can somebody help me? I'll be attaching the codec dump. I really need your help. 00diabolic
try this:opent Terminal login as root go to cd /where it is/HDAEneabler.kext/Contest/MacOS/ chmod +x HDAEneabler (this makes bin file excutable) repair permissions reboot it will load... Madtux I did this and it killed my whole OSX install. I had to go into safemode and delete the appleHDA kext and then reboot and finally it worked. I'll keep working on this. I also had the applehda.taruge to and maybe thats why i was having the trouble. Any insight you can offer would be great. I looks like development on this driver has stopped again. I hope I can get it to work with its current release.

sege
This is due to External MIC, go to sound preferences under input device, and lower the volume of the 2nd "Internal Mic" until the white noise is gone.KextHelper do automatic backup of kext that is being replaced. On new OSX just install the attached HDAEnabler and the AppleHDA(in my sig) using KextHelper or OSX86Tools, repair permission using Disk Utility and reboot. You don't need to install any of those ALC268 Installer. HDAEnabler.kext.zip I have 10.5.5, if I had those kexts I get no sound at all. With the XxX original I get sound but not mic except that white noice. I have the AAO 110 btw. Ideas?

kanbal
I have Lapptop Toshiba A200-1CR with ALC862 (checked under Windows in drivers details). I've tried to install KEXT from first page on Leo 10.5.5 but I don't have sound at all. As it is described on 1st page I copied HDAEnabler from Kabyl and ALC KEXT and used OSx86 tools to fix permissions and clear extension cache. After reboot I don't have sound at all (I have never had). I have tried with all KEXT (861, 862, 268). Maybe it is worth to mention that I hadn't Azilla file on my disk so I didn't remove it. What I did wrong - any ideas ?

gondor69
Yes it can be fixed with VREF verb data in Controller, or thru signal processing in Platform plist, I will look, and post a test kext. But not today... I do have the same problem as well, somehow I don't know if it is related to the fact that I have lines like this one on and on at startup. "Sound assertion "0 == entry" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-157.1.24/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 2396 goto Exit" If there's a way you can fix that I'd be so happy. needless to say i'm 200% ready to help fix it as well of course thanks G. koenlek
Hi everybody First of all, many many thanks to MadTux. After more than a year i finally got the line-out of my ALC861-VD to work (internal boxes always worked using Azalia) so i don't have to listen to the crappy built-in boxes anymore. I am on a Toshiba Satellite P200-17z and have tried both the Toshiba and the generic version using the ALC861VD installer in the first post. The Toshiba version: According to system profiler these should work: internal sound, line out, external mic. Though in reality these worked: internal sound, external mic. The generic version: According to system profiler these should work: internal sound, line out, external mic, built-in mic (so that's all for my laptop) Though in reality these worked: internal sound, line out. System settings also showed both mics, but they both don't seem to work. So maybe my external mic could be fixed by using code of the Toshiba version. And the difference between the ext. mic in toshiba and generic version also might be the way to get the internal mic to work? Anybody experienced the same issues? MadTux, in case you have some spare time, could you take a look at this? Or could i try doing it myself using Hex? Thanks for all the efforts!
