jdxxx
This image has just shown up at a popular location. So what is are the details on this image? I suppose it "corrects", changes or addes a few things that were noted missing in the otherwise very good MacOSX_10.4.4DVDPATCHED_Myz.iso install disk. theSpam
It appears to have been made by JaS... And yes, that DVD you mentioned was very good. Only problem with it was that it included v1.0 of the Maxxuss patches and not v1.0a. theSpam
No, there aren't any issues with it. Simply put, the v1.0 patches were available when the DVD was made. Plus, the "a" is only needed if you have an AMD CPU. temis
Is it possible to edit the iso DVD image and replace the v1.0 by the 1.0a without breaking the automatic install procedure ? And speaking of nForce working with this DVD ... does that include nForce 4 ? myzar
i think it supports nforce4 + nforce3( there is a thread about it) be careful with nforce4 because as you can see in the thread many users reported big data corruption problems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12079-macosx1045universalinstalldvdintel_amd_sse3_sse2/#findComment-75917 Share on other sites

belgrano
It is highly unlikely that 10.4.6 will bring support for older ATI pc video cards... Why would they do that? Is not like OS X is made for pc after all... manmal
it would be nice to have the patches-only from 10.4.4 restore disc without having to download a whole dvd. mal Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12079-macosx1045universalinstalldvdintel_amd_sse3_sse2/#findComment-76091 Share on other sites
theSpam
Someone posted: The difference is that with this release the patch for sse3 will not be applied for sse3 cpus (unlike Myzar's). My reply to this: Although the SSE3 patch has been applied, isn't it not used if a SSE3 compatible CPU is present? theSpam
it would be nice to have the patches-only from 10.4.4 restore disc without having to download a whole dvd. mal I *think* I found a patch for the Myzar DVD that will bring you up to date (to MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL_AMD_SSE3_SSE2). belgrano
...Although the SSE3 patch has been applied, isn't it not used if a SSE3 compatible CPU is present? Myzar said that this is the case (the patch is not used if a sse3 compatible cpu is detected), on the other hand JaS said that he disabled the patch (uninstalled it or something) and now his pc with sse3 cpu is faster. dualBooter
Heya i1sam, You may want to check your Global Upload Speed in your BT client. Many times, when it's set for unlimited (or set to 0), you actually get worse DL speed than if you had it set to somewhere between 19 - 30. I have mine set to 28 on a 768k DSL, for example, and had that same file DL'ing at about 68kbps. Edit: I believe another post had a formula listed, where you take your current upload speed (which you can find by going to various sites that give you a measurement of your up/down speed), divide by 8, then multiply by .7 to get the number at which you set your Global Upload Speed. This seemed to work reasonably well in my BT client, give or take a KB or two. You may want to fiddle with the setting a bit to see what works best for you.
