1. upgraded to 10.6.6 from software update ... Everything is OK I only had to reinstall nvidia fermi drivers (there is a new version by the way : Retail_256.01.00f03v5) Cheers
2. did you try options: -v -x GraphicsEnabler=n cpus=1 arch=i386 busratio=25 It broke geforce 460 GTX native resolution I am back to 1024x768 + no QE/CI everything else is fine. EDIT : Reinstalling nvidia fermi nvidia Retail_256.01.00f03v5.dmg solved the problem
3. I finally got the whole thing to work with decent performances. Here is a link to my Extra folder + AppleHDA 5,1 speakers working, no SPDIF though Sound1065.zip - 1.6 MB good luck
4. I finally have an up an running 10.6.5 with decent performances Here is what I did for what it's worth : Installed vanilla (10.6.3 retail DVD)with files and instructions from here : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=222761 options : -v -x cpus=1 busratio=21 GraphicsEnabler=n Installed 10.6.5 upgrade Installed ##### 2.6.1, userdsdt + hardware kexts reboot upgraded chameleon 2 RC5 build 656 reboot Installed Nvidia drivers Thanks for your help
5. @ Stofchi Thank you, actually the only thing I got wrong was GraphicsEnabler Yes instead of No so options : -v -x cpus=1 busratio=21 GraphicsEnabler=n arch=i386 was the way to install 10.6.3 + 10.6.5 upgrade + ##### I think I still have a few things to figure out cause booting from HD doesn't work, only boot from boot123 CD with arch=i386 option works yet @ tj_jackson Since nov 16 nvidia has a new driver out and it's supposed to bring compatibility to fermi 100/104 graphic cards I only get a 1024x768x32 as of now but I read at www.tonymacx86.com that some guys have 460 GTX 1Go fully working on their rig so there is hope http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=...73&start=10
6. i'am stuck at the same point ! what's the workaround ? Is there a bootloader that works for P6X58D-E and fermi 100 / 104 graphic cards ? Thanks
7. Hi everyone, I am having a hard time installing Snow Leo (genuine retail DVD 10.6.3) from scratch on my rig (please see infos in sig) ... I tried many bootloaders including those compatible with fermi 104 which is needed here EmpireEFI, mars123, mars123 v2, ##### NVIDIA 4xxx-1, #####-GE Il followed all available procedure (none of them was P6X58D-E specific though, found mostly for Premium version), with recommanded hardware and bios settings : also went to www.tonymacx86.com Restore to bios defaults AHCI + HPET + ACPI ON 1 HD (raw) on sata all other removed 1 DVD on SATA 4 Go RAM only 1 Graphic card in 1st PCIe I tried all possible options combinations using : -v -x cpus=1 busratio=21 GraphicsEnabler=Yes arch=i386 I get a "still waiting for root device" Can any successful user give me a procedure on how to install from scratch Thanks PS : Is there a bootloader that works for P6X58D-E + Fermi 100/104 graphic cards ?
8. Thanks for visiting ... but anyone has a hint ?
9. Hi everyone ! I am having issues trying to boot Snow Leopard 10.6.3 (10.6.3 retail DVD from store) on my Asus Maximus Formula (bios 1403) + nvidia geforce 8 GTS 640 Package used is the one from below thread's 1st post except new fakesmc + new nullappleintelcpu + removed dsmos as advised http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=186707 Here is what I do : - Install from a restored dmg to usb stick + chameleon 2.0 rc3 or from mounted dmg in snow old snow leo 10.6.1 (both install work !) - Install of chameleon 2.0 rc3 - nothing modified in System/Lybrary/Extensions <==> maybe I am missing something here - Add Extra + themes to / - UUID added to PlatformUUID.kext - gfx string added to com.apple.boot.plist - repair permissions THEN - First + following boot give me a kernel panic no matter what I do ! Can someone running 10.6.3 on the same mobo give me a hint or describe his install procedure and files used I was also wondering if all the procedures around are only for 10.6 + upgrades or does it work for retail 10.6.3 DVD from store ? thanks for your help
10. Sorry new thread created ! Cheers

PCEFI v9 Installer Final by Trauma [Updated 19/12/08]

Merci

PCEFI v9 Installer Final by Trauma [Updated 19/12/08]

Temis
