sammykrupa Posted March 5, 2006 Share Posted March 5, 2006 I was checking the OSx86 project wiki, and in 10.4.4 compatibility wiki the GMA950 is listed as working just as well as the GMA900 (Quartz Extreme, Core Image, no mouse tearing), but in the 10.4.5 compatibility wiki the GMA950 is listed with some problems. I know that when I upgraded to 10.4.5 I had some problems with my GMA900 (no longer could changer resolution, color profile) , and I had to replace my Intel video driver kexts with kexts from 10.4.4. What I am wondering is if anyone has the GMA950 working in 10.4.5 without any problems? Did you have to use 10.4.4 kexts? Do you have Quartz Extreme, Core Image, and no mouse tearing? quixos Posted March 5, 2006 Share Posted March 5, 2006 I had to replace my Intel video driver kexts with kexts from 10.4.4. you only have to replace the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from 10.4.4 to regain your ability to change resolutions. GMA 950 has hardware pixel shader 2 and few other things and 900 doesn’t. No, the GMA 900 also has Hardware Capable Shader 2.0. Intel P4 2.8GHz 521 (HT/SSE2/NX/PAE/EMT64) Intel D915GUX Motherboard 1 Gb DDR Dual Channel Memory 80Gb SATA HD Mac OS X 10.4.5 (video/sound/lan working) XBench results: ~68.5. martijnb1974 Posted March 11, 2006 Share Posted March 11, 2006 Mine works perfectly. Integrated on a asus board (P5LD2-VM). res: 1280x1024x32x60 or 75 hz. QE/etc work. Card uses 256 MB ram it says No mouse tearing or what so ever. My whole system works much much better than my G5 iMac I had before. Only sound input is not working yet. Wireless works (Belkin PCI), Sound works, very fast booting Im so glad!!!
