So I was working in microsoft office, when my Core 2 Duo iMac 17" randomly shut off. I tried restarting it, no avail. I unplugged it, and reset my house's power, and tried it again in several outlets. It just doesn't do anything when I push the power button.

So I called apple, she ran me through the "unplug everything, try several outlets".. Still nothing. Since I have an apple store in the mall about 5 minutes from my house, I was advised to take it there. However, I have Transmission installed on my mac for getting... erm.. Linux distros.. -cough- Photoshop CS3 -/cough-

So photoshop cs3's the only not so legal thing I have on there right now, besides my music. Other than that, there's no signs of anything pirated on my desktop. There's also no limewire/transmission/azureus in my dock.

I've got a few accounts on my mac, so when I take it in, I could have them log into a more legit account. (Dad's, mom's, kid sister).

Anything I should watch out for? Thanks!

Technically snooping around in your personal files is illegal. It'd be like you catching the service guy who comes to fix your dishwasher rifling through the drawers in your kitchen... and like the above poster said they don't really care.

Supposed to be true, but Geek Squad got busted a while back in a sting operation where they were caught stealing stuff off people's hard drives.

Edit: This is interesting...

If you are super paranoid, try this out. Back up your entire hard drive to your Time Machine disk. After that, plop the OS X install disc in and perform a complete format (use the advanced format options and write over the data the maximum number of times possible). That does take a bit of time though and if you have a big hard drive you might have to wait a few hours...
